This is such an accurate portrayal of MK and Wukong's relationship that i rarely see portrayed in the fandom. Wukong is a very flawed character and I think that is very fascinating because MK has a similar personality to Wukong and looks up to him as this perfect role model only to slowly discover what a messy life he has led which makes him (and Wukong) start to fear actually turning out like him.

Anyway, this is GORGEOUS!!!!! I love the idea that Wukong was always watching MK and making sure he was safe, but also keeping his distance. Maybe it was also implied on the show and I just didn't notice it, but I've never thought about that before!!!

Personally I like to think wukong is seen as a father figure to mk due to the fact he's a prominent male figure he looks up to and it's easier to imagine it as a father for most people

THIS GOES CRAZYYYYY HOLY SHIT. the actual meaning of the song. the way it's straight up 90% canon material. bird wukong watching tang and pigsy raise him!!!!! wukong having such a complicated backstory (jttw canon!!!!!) fits PERFECTLY with the lyrics. broken and cruel and hes done so many things considered good and bad and incredibly grey. and mk is just living his life!!!!!! this is so good. ive never seen the song used in its proper context this is awesome. your art is wonderful and im ALSO obsessed w that shot from the macaque where wukong sprints to protect mk thats the moment i went Oh he IS attached to him already. aauagaghhhh

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! IT’S THEM THEY'RE HERE THEY ARE SO PRECIOUS AND I LOVE THEIR DYNAMIC! Wukong is definitely WAY more than just being considered a parental figure, and with current missing context it's hard to say exactly what happened between Wukong and MK when MK was born/created/formed into existence. Excited for season 5 to give us more sunburst duo! :D

This was absolutely incredible and I love the way you designed everyone and the artwork looks so cleaned and I just have to say that I’ve also read the description and you know what, you’re not wrong and he’s definitely not perfect but what I love most about him is that he tries his best and he does care about M.K. A lot and that goes vice versa, and the music choice was so perfectly chosen for this, because it really does actually depict what happened and I love to see little M.K., nonetheless absolutely love this show and you did it really well done and I hope you and your family. Feeling guilt is no hallmark of atoning for your sins. He may be an idol, but he was never a father, a teacher, a mentor, or a friend when MK needed him most. He was ambition and something to achieve, to want praise from. Like a dog who will never be given a scrap. He has his moments, but still. UMMMM you slayed with this animation and the lightning. Yes I know what never love an anchor is about thats the point. the song is about a parent letting go the connection with their child because they feel abandoning them will give them a better life, that they are not fit to love and care for their child. yes, SWK had something to do with MKs creation. he is, in a way, a father, be it through blood or stone. What i hate is when people act like hes a good parental figure when he has these flaws, letting go of a child, disappearing for years to leave mk on a random street in a bustling city, coming back into his life and STILL being absent and flighty and never telling MK why. when i said "there isnt a parental bone in that mans body" i meant hes not very fatherly in the way he acts towards MK and i dont see him as a REAL parent to him. a mentor, yes. a friend, maybe, an absent father? definetly, but hes not a GOOD parent the same way Pigsy and Tang are. this isnt to say that i dislike SWK altogether, i just wish more people pointed out his flaws instead of putting him on a high pedastal and calling him "MKs dad" when hes done almost nothing to deserve that title. Also, VERY sorry for the long rant, I just want you to know i wasnt trying to be angry or anything your comment just awoke something in me and i needed to write a five page essay on the subject and explain my thoughts lol, thank you for watching!
