Not a place to venture into alone. It’s mucky and very slippery with uneven rocky, waterlogged ground beneath the feet…you’d break an ankle if you weren’t careful
Brilliant find iDavid! You'd have to be pretty fit to get down that but you'd do it in double time if nasty boyos were coming after you intent on chopping you up. Those were brutal times.
I'm almost 6ft tall and it was very awkward getting inside but once in it was ok to stand. The mud was more of a problem...It must get flooded regularly
@@david_v2.1 Yes I'm still detecting David. I got a few clips to put together, just need to find the time to put a vid together mate. Only film the good stuff now, just the odd button but no trash.😂
I look forward to that then! Found a brooch a few weeks ago...facebook detecting groups said it was either saxon, viking or early christian. Sent pics to the museum and the expert there said it was early Christian Irish...then he came back later and said he got a second opinion, it's a replica of a famous brooch made around late Victorian times :/ bit of a let-down there
No tour guide needed. Just drive up the lane and park at the abandoned farmhouse, walk up the lane to the last field on the right before the sharp left turn and the cave is in that field. It's slippery down there, don't go alone in case you break an ankle and wear boots and wet gear...bring a good torch too.
Nice! I was there recently, and filmed it too, it's a bit awkward getting through that entrance while trying to get a good shot for RUclips!
Fair play David. I fancy doing a paranormal vigil down there, but I don't know if I have the testicular fortitude. 😂.
Overall and wellies a must. 👍🍀🍀

You are braver than me mate, you wouldn't get me down there.😳
A very interesting place though.😍
Thanks John. Are you still metal detecting? I never see you post any videos now
