I remember in the late 80's at a few shows the dealers insisting these were genuine vintage smokers. The colors were suspicicious to to me since they never had burgandy or that shade of blue. Well now they certainly are vintage! Great Vid Thanks for posting !!
Yes vintage and rare with a build quality as good if not better than the 1950's / 1960's bots. Yes RED flags all over the place back in the day, the new colors, The box art text screw up and the plastic gears and newer style smoker inside.
That's a large array of Smokers. Interesting story. I remember that Earthquake on TV. When I use to still watch TV. Quite an impressive looking bunch, - imagine ALL of them turned on, your fire alarm might go off. 😎👌
The colors can be a good way but the box is easiest. The only other way is on the inside but you c an not see that with out taking them apart. The good news is they are more rare than the 1950's / 1960's ones So as long as your not buying a recent china repro you are doing OK.
That’s really neat history on them . Thanks John the 🤖history man

It's hard to find info on those 80s smokers, I'm glad this video popped up. Nice work.

Interesting story.
WOW ROBOTS REALLY SMOKE
Some more than others.
Great story. Can you tell someway the difference between the 1980 ones and the 1950 ones by just looking at them?
