I tried with a 0.35 using your method, and it worked. Thank you! P.S. Yes, you have to be very very careful, actually you shouldn't remove the nib if it's thin, just leave it there and use cleaner solution from Rotring.
Wow I wish I had seen this video before !!! I has destroyed two good 0. 18 and .25 nibs. and again managed to restore just one .25 nibs . It was a real nightmare and just a waist of expensive nibs. You did the right way to rotate the pin and it leads back in place slowly and safely. Thank you for this share and I am planing to buy a new nibs to replace the broken pen . It was a set of vintage pens I got recently.
Yes, they are really delicate inside. Before rotating, though, I had them in the ultrasonic, to losen up the dried ink. When you twist the small wire in a dried nib, it will shear off almost immediately. I am very happy that you found my video useful. Good luck with your new nibs!
I don’t own any isograph pens, but I watched this entire tutorial because it was cool seeing the inner pen mechanics and I like your voice! now I know also how to repair this particular pen. :)
Brilliant advice. Thank you so much for the tips. I think the rotation of the barrel is a great tip and something I wouldn't have thought of. You've given me hope for my pen.
Thank you very much for this valuable information! I was able to recover my Rotring Isographs from a case of dried ink clogging thanks to your video. What a thrill when the plunger sounded again!
Wonderful, thank you very much. Especially the way of straightening the wire and then getting it back in by rotating the holder. I will think of you whenever I use that pen
I have just cleaned some vintage pens today. I had forgotten your video. I had a o.18 nib and it had a bent hair thread. could not save it. but the rest of the pens were ok.
Might be. Dried ink can be removed by putting the tip into lukewarm water with a mild detergent for about a day and then into an ultrasonic cleaning bath for a few minutes.
hi! i have the same problem but its a 0.1 tip, so you can imagine how thin the wire is. when a opened it was almost a knot and i follow your steps. The difficulty is when a try to put it back, it bends with the smallest of touch. Is it fixable or should i give up?
My steadler 0.1 wire bent while shaking to hard (they are weaker then the rotring in my opinion but when working properly haver crisper consistent line) and I've done everything to make it work but ink wont come out /:

I'm more of a fountain pen type of artist, but repairing is always a bit less daunting with tutorials like this one.
Thank you my pen is working again, I thought I'm gonna buy a new one for the 2nd time so thanks
This is Very usefull, especially on how your tips on putting back inside the barrel.
Thank you very much
Video was very helpful
If the ink still doesnt comeout does it mean that there is dried up ink in there?

Did you put it in an ultrasonic cleaner with lukewarm water and a mild detergent?
