As someone who watched the Cassadine/Spencer saga from the beginning I can perfectly understand why Victor has waited until now to come after Laura. Like you said, the last time he was on he was more concerned with finding out if Nathan was his son; He was always the subtle sneaky one of the cassadines, and with Helena now really dead, it would make sense that Victor would pick up the torch to burn Laura and her family with 😉
