Going first cruise Nov 30 th going solo taking control of my life after husband of 30 years passed. My travel agent will be booking my cruise any day now !! Ship is beautiful staying In a ocean view room ! Can’t wait !!!!! Great video
I just got off the Splendor this morning in Sydney from Singapore. I loved the ship, took a bit to get used to the lay out but it is a great ship. Was good to see what the ship looked like pre dry dock and there is no smoking inside the ship anymore. Have already booked our next cruise on Splendor for next year.
@@CruiseRadio We made sure we ate in the dining room for breakfast and dinner as the food was outstanding, the buffet was good but the food from the deli was awesome, especially if you like buffalo chicken sandwiches.
Doug, I sailed on her twice one week in 2018 & two weeks (to Hawaii) in 2019. I absolutely love this ship. It's very easy to navigate & had everything we needed and wanted. I loved having a roof that will close on inclimate days which we had most of on the Hawaii cruise. I we took advantage of the Dive In Movies a lot at night.
We sailed her back in 2014. She had so much character with the pink & purple colorations. She didnt have any 2.0 options, but loved her. Also that spa is amazing!
@@CruiseRadio it was all good. Actually the burgers from Off the Grill were less greasy than Guy's. I know, I know the grease adds flavor, but kinda liked it better that way. In actuality we bever really had a horrible meal on any Carnival Ship and we have been on 9 different Carnival ships.😊
They cancelled Isle of Pines cause of virus fears and instead set the locations for Moreton Island and Noumea. We couldn't get off on Moreton Island cause it was deemed unsafe but we were able to get off at Noumea.
I was on this repositioning cruise from LA to Singapore in October 2019, in a Deck 1 ocean view cabin. Thoroughly enjoyed the 24 nights on board. Like the 24/H pizza bar and the self help icecream machine. Once the current pandemic is over will cruise this ship again.
They did add Blue Iguana, it's port side deck 9 just at the side of the movie screen where there is already some type of bar, on the opposite side is the Red Frog Rum Bar.
@@CruiseRadio We were just on the Singapore to Sydney cruise LOVED it. Komodo Island and the snorkelling at Pink Beach was the absolute highlight, it was like being at the aquarium.
Yes I have sail on this ship and it is a real nice ship as a matter of fact one of my favorite ships. It is to bad it’s in Australia now but I am planning on going there and to do a cruise on this ship. The way this ship is set up on this video is perfect. I haven’t seen it since dry dock but it may or may not be better except for Guys Burgers always great. I honestly hope they will have another ship like The Carnival Splendor and like what he was saying about the roof closing in the center during inclement weather is true and you can watch a movie and not get wet unlike on The Freedom Glory Dream etc. once again this ship The Carnival Splendor is a perfect ship.
I am booked on carnival splendor for late April 2020 cruise out of Sydney Australia. I am hoping the cruise still goes ahead after the 30 day cancellation period from 15 march to 13 April. I have been on carnival spirit but not the splendor.
I love the Carnival Sprit. It is my favourite cruise ship as well as the Explorer of the Seas. I hope I hear soon if my cruise is going ahead (which I doubt) or if it will be cancelled.
We did the repositioning cruise from Singapore to Sydney on the splendor. Loved it. The crew were amazing. The ship was amazing. The singers and dancers were amazing. The fun squad were the best. What more can I say. ps you have to drink the parched pig ale's. 😀😀😀🍻🍻🍻🍻🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I really enjoyed the seafood stew in the main dining room. Had a second helping. All my choices in the main dining room were really good. Also Adi madica and suirat always put me on the good stuff ( our waiting team)
We sailed on her this last April to Hawaii and enjoyed her just wish we would have had the upgrades but all in all she is a beautiful ship we used the spa and the golf course abd this was a great ship ro sail on would sail on her again.

Hey Doug great video as usual, I would sail on the ship no problem if it were on the West Coast thanks again for the video can’t wait for your review of carnival panorama cheers

Thank you for all that information. It was very detailed, and interesting. I took the ship in April, 2018 to Cabo San Lucas, Maltazan, and Puerto Vallarta. Ship was nice, but customer service was awful.
I love your videos. Always very informative. We’ve been on 7 cruises & another one coming up in January. We have never sailed on Carnival. I don’t find much appeal to them compared to other lines. Just the decor makes me uncomfortable. LOL Very loud & tacky. Vista class seems more appealing & the new Mardi Gras coming out looks very beautiful.

I thought the food was good not great. The steakhouse and the Mongolian wok was the best. The line for the wok was always super long and slow. The MDR was okay. Our head waiter always seemed to be missing when you needed him, but his supporting waiters and waitress was great.
Great video thanks for sharing what was your favorite thing on the Carnival Splendor? We have not sailed on her yet. Sincerely Adventures of David and Aaron.⚓⚓⚓
Awesome video, cool to see how this ship was before all of the upgrades. this was the first ship I ever cruised on in 2010. Good memories, but looking at this video, I realize it was horribly ugly décor! However, the aft pool was awesome because it was on level with the views of the sea, it did not have super structure in front of it, and I appreciate that. I also had a ton of fun on this ship and really appreciate Carnival because of that. *edit* as I watch this video further. I did not like the main pool at all, with it's covering. That's why the aft pool was so great, it was open air. I remember the sushi bar, it seemed to be never open or have a huge line if it was. I also remember the Tandoor food area at the aft, as well as a spot where they gave tasty comfort food sandwiches, like Rueben. I enjoyed the aft portion of this ship a lot. The kids took over the covered pool, less sun exposure of course.
Hey! Do you know if there’s any smoking areas (inside or out) for Australian cruises (departing from Sydney to the pacific islands for example). Are there cigarettes for sale? Strange question I know 😬 thanks!
Smoking areas are outside. Deck 3. Port and starboard. And aft deck ten. No inside smoking areas. I did see some smokes for sale at the red frog rum bar on deck 9. Don't know how much they cost though. Hope this helps.👍🍻🇦🇺😀
I won on the claw machine at the casino a couple of times. It is rigged (has to hit a pay out to win) but a skilled claw machine player can increase the odds to win. The fun things is some of the arcade claw machine are almost just as hard. I once cause the arcade claw machine/casino to shut down because it was over its payout. If you are wondering what the technique i used to win at the casino i would suggest watching a "swing technique" its the only way to win without hitting payout and its still a very small chance of winning.
No. This was the sailing before dry dock. I did not have access to the ship in dry dock so I had to take what I could. 85% of the ship is the same with the exception of Pub, Guy's, WaterWorks, and a couple other things. Thanks for watching it.
Nice video. I took a 7 day cruise to Mexico on this ship in 4/19, and the decor was like a 1980's disaster. The restaurants were in desperate need of repair (threadbare chairs, scratched walls, etc.). So many people with their wild kids crammed in the pools and hot tubs that I never wanted to join them. The exercise gym closed early and I was kicked out so that the crew could exercise. Almost no channels on the TV. Only one song played in public areas was by the actual artist - the rest of the music is re-recorded by other singers, probably to save money in broadcast rights. The crew was very nice - I don't know how since they must have a terrible life living on this ship and working so many hours. Even having a balcony room was claustrophobic. This was my first cruise, so maybe every ship is like this, but I hope not. Next time, I will fly somewhere and stay in a hotel.
I create these videos for historic value and my love for the industry. If you want to see it that bad, consider booking passage on it? Thanks for watching and all your support.
Fun fact this ship had a engine fire in 2010 of the coast of Mexico and the passengers had to live in terrible conditions somewhat similar to those in world war one for example no toilets had worked and had to use red bags to do their business
Just returned from her inaugural cruise from Australia ... in my opinion the crew and ship were not ready for this cruise. - Inconsistent bar staff on drink availability - Tender operators struggled to dock in very calm conditions - Unacceptable boarding lines / times for the tenders - Internet unavailable for 80% of the cruise and staff took 3 days to advise passengers - Not all buffets open during breakfast / lunch / dinner times - Family and Adults only pool to small for the size of the ship - Popular buffets, Indian, Pizza and Deli under staffed and had unnecessary queues - Lack of urgency in filling empty food choices at buffet - Main dinning room food is worth eating at, better than on board on Legend - Painting public areas during the cruise My advice - On Legend you can book excursions through TV, you cant do this on Splendor, so pre-book through website to avoid disappointment, as booking desk has long queues - Fahrenheit 555 is a great choice for dinner - Book behind the scenes tour (very limited numbers) Was told - Duty free cigarettes < $50 between Singapore and Sydney and increased to $99 on exiting Australia I will cruise with Carnival again, but unsure if I will on the Splendor, preferred the Legend

Awesome. What's the itinerary for your trip? Thank you for watching.
On my last cruise I won a surface pro 6 worth 2k from barber cut lite
That's amazing. What was the itinerary for your trip? Thank you for watching.
It was an 11 day cruise to the south pacific
It's the best
I did spirit . IT WAS FUUUN!
What was the best part about your trip on the Splendor? Thank you for watching.
@@CruiseRadio @Danica Cosme said they did spirit so they didnt even have a trip on splendor lol
i went on this boat in august of 2018
What was your favorite part about the Splendor? Thank you for watching.

So much pink
So. Much. Pink. Thanks for watching.
Is there an ice cream bar
There’s a ice cream machine
I won on the claw machine at the casino a couple of times. It is rigged (has to hit a pay out to win) but a skilled claw machine player can increase the odds to win. The fun things is some of the arcade claw machine are almost just as hard. I once cause the arcade claw machine/casino to shut down because it was over its payout. If you are wondering what the technique i used to win at the casino i would suggest watching a "swing technique" its the only way to win without hitting payout and its still a very small chance of winning.
I am going on or next year
Nice. Thank you for watching.
This isn’t the ship after dry dock is it?!!?
No. This was the sailing before dry dock. I did not have access to the ship in dry dock so I had to take what I could. 85% of the ship is the same with the exception of Pub, Guy's, WaterWorks, and a couple other things. Thanks for watching it.
Oh ok thanks
I appreciate the compliment. I'm glad the crew was very nice. How was the food on your trip? Thank you for watching.

Anyone going on the carnival splendor on the 28th of January
What's the itinerary for your trip? Thank you for watching.
I don't think there is smoking allowed inside. Eg Casino
Correct, smoking would now be banned in the casino as it's now an Aussie ship.
Correct. In the USA it was smoking. In AUS it will not be. This was in USA when taped. Thanks for watching.
Yay!! No horrible smoke 😁
Going in 25 days
Awesome. What's the itinerary for your trip? Thank you for watching.
My GF won on claw machine 🙈last time lol but we went on it heaps
That's awesome. Thank you for watching.
I love the Splendor, sailed on her twice. why waste time on showing the old ship? was hoping to see the after dry dock tour.
I create these videos for historic value and my love for the industry. If you want to see it that bad, consider booking passage on it? Thanks for watching and all your support.
Pre Funship 2.0 upgrade footage? Clown :(
Thank you for watching.
Fun fact this ship had a engine fire in 2010 of the coast of Mexico and the passengers had to live in terrible conditions somewhat similar to those in world war one for example no toilets had worked and had to use red bags to do their business
Thank you for watching.
Carnival dumps garbage into the ocean. They have been fined twice.
So does 99%of the population
Thank you for watching.
Just returned from her inaugural cruise from Australia ... in my opinion the crew and ship were not ready for this cruise.
- Inconsistent bar staff on drink availability
- Tender operators struggled to dock in very calm conditions
- Unacceptable boarding lines / times for the tenders
- Internet unavailable for 80% of the cruise and staff took 3 days to advise passengers
- Not all buffets open during breakfast / lunch / dinner times
- Family and Adults only pool to small for the size of the ship
- Popular buffets, Indian, Pizza and Deli under staffed and had unnecessary queues
- Lack of urgency in filling empty food choices at buffet
- Main dinning room food is worth eating at, better than on board on Legend
- Painting public areas during the cruise
My advice
- On Legend you can book excursions through TV, you cant do this on Splendor, so pre-book through website to avoid disappointment, as booking desk has long queues
- Fahrenheit 555 is a great choice for dinner
- Book behind the scenes tour (very limited numbers)
Was told
- Duty free cigarettes < $50 between Singapore and Sydney and increased to $99 on exiting Australia
I will cruise with Carnival again, but unsure if I will on the Splendor, preferred the Legend
Thanks for the update. How was the new RedFrog space?

Splendor is carnivals most "ugly" ship.🤮
