Considering the larger display and higher resolution of Samsung and the smaller battery of the iPhone I'd say they are on par. That being said, Samsung really did wonders this year
0.1 inches and extra resolution doesn’t do anything at all😂
But dimming the display for 15 minutes at the end saves a TON of battery

Samsung also has a much faster charger so it def wins
The iPhone has a 14% smaller battery, so it defintely wins in terms of efficiency.
It really depends what you’re using the phone for though to top up the phone when it’s low it definitely charges faster in general. If you were doing a mix of things on your phone throughout the day my 14 promax is always left with around 30 to 40% at the end of the day and my galaxy is at about 25 to 30% despite the fact that I use it for about two hours less what day

Manufacturers don’t actually want big batteries inside of their devices since they are heavy, take longer to charge, can even be dangerous like the Note 7. It had one of the largest batteries at the time sqeezed inside of a 7 mm chassis. It caused overheating problems, expanding battery packs and even explosions.

I have to agree, at the start of this test. iPhone loves to lie about it's battery, I can go on 100% for about 45 minutes until it ticks down to 99, then from there it goes down rapidly till it slows again. ( I have an iPhone 12 )
As I understand it, why it takes a while to start dropping below 100% is because iPhone batteries are larger than specified. This is to stop lawyers suing Apple for misrepresentation. The average is between
5-8% larger than listed mAh. That 5-8% takes

After iphone 12, the batteries are very good. But before were the worst
All batteries naturally lose some capacity after a while, but if you use charge limiting on it overnight (with Chargie, for example), you'll get years of runtime without major degradation or the need to change it. Super easy.
yet iphones are known to be horrible to retain its battery health. Even apple has was open about it, few years back.
Samsung have the option to limitate the charging to 85%.
+ if u do a routine in Mode and routines you can limitate the charging all night to 85, and 30 mins before you wake up routines deactivate the limit charging and go to 100. I have configured this in my S23U and the battery life didn't move in almost 3 months. With accubattery the health is in 104%
@@lucasfisigaro3872 only having the 85% option available is tricky. You may need more or less in certain situations/days/locations and Samsung's solution doesn't know what. Under discharging also poses a big risk to battery capacity. Chargie's solution is way more configurable and flexible (has a proper scheduler, slow/fast charging, can pump power into dumb batteries etc.) Samsung's approach is good, but just not good enough imo.
Apple phones tend to stay at a 100% because ,they are advertised to have a 3200 mah(14 pro) battery but actually the phones have 3300-3350 mah .
So basically apple only tends to calculate its % starting from 3200 mah.

Normally a user doesn’t care how small or large a battery is. All that matters is how long a device can run before needing to be recharged. Big batteries insn’t something manufacturs want to put inside of their devices since they take up more space, take longer to charge, and can even be dangerous like the Note 7.

With 700mah more battery yeah it should win but not by 12 sec atleast 45min..

The samsung has way better specs, meaning that it also uses more battery life, which makes the comparison fair.
You do realize that the s23 ultra is operating in 120hz, iphone is 60hz, so in terms of battery life I think the s23 wins
Bruh yt has a bug on this video it keeps skipping halfway.
Samsung casually be monitoring all phones to see which is used in test against iPhones
There's no way you can compare a normal phone to a phone with Spen. Spen is being charged whenever it's battery drops. Please everyone, Samsung has insane battery life.
You will pretty much always have your Spen in your phone at some point, so it should be considered in the battery test. Also, in a real life scenario where you actually use the Spen it would have a greater effect on the battery life.
However, the Spen also has pretty much no effect on the battery.

As I understand it, why it takes a while to start dropping below 100% is because iPhone batteries are larger than specified. This is to stop lawyers suing Apple for misrepresentation. The average is between 5-8% larger than listed mAh. That 5-8% takes 30mins-60mins to clock down, depending on what you are doing.
So, no fibs, just the battery algorithm measuring the capacity and working out it is still above the mAh metric.
The ML then has to recalibrate as the mAh falls at expected rates, so we see a faster decline for a while before the AI settles on the actuality of the data.
Both are great now and any difference is mainly down to the S23U having superior 2023 components, e.g. X70 modem (20-30% better battery), latest eco-display (16% better than iPhone), latest LPDDR5X RAM (10-20% greater efficiency versus iPhone), etc. The iPhone 15PM will have these more efficient features as well as a larger battery and a 2023 chip, rather than the A16 (which is basically an overclocked A15 from 2021).
Can Qualcomm continue the efficiency jump or was this a one-off battery upgrade due to multiple improved features? Ergo, will Apple zoom ahead again? We will have to see if the A17 is any good.
