Sorry for our poor English; we're working on improving it. Please feel free to suggest more classic and blockbuster movies from Hollywood's golden era. P.S Mansoor is still in the club, he will be there soon
Your English is FAR better than my grasp of any language besides English. PS - PLEASE watch and react to the 1939 Wizard of Oz. And I don't think you have done (but should) a reaction to the 1946 It's A Wonderful Life.
Are you serious? Your English is excellent. And...it is wonderful seeing people discovering classic Hitchcock movies like this, for the first time. Thank you for this reaction!
I highly recommend Gone With the Wind. It’s about the American Civil War. While it’s considered somewhat controversial today, it’s still considered one of the greatest epics from that era and is one of the most influential films of all time.
A woman wrote a letter to Hitchcock. "My daughter saw a film where a woman was killed in the bathtub and she refuses to take a bath. Now she has seen your film Psycho and she refuses to take a shower too!! What do you suggest?" Hitchcock wrote back " Send her to the dry cleaners" 😂😂
What was shocking when this movie came out was the woman in the shower was played by a top star. Before that they would never kill off such a star so early.
@@jettser17UK Don’t know if you’re aware of it or not but the woman that was murdered in the shower was Janet Leigh, the mother of actress Jamie Lee Curtis.
@@MsAppassionata Well kinda, I knew she the mother of someone famous but couldn't recall who. Of course they're scream queens! JLC is still one of the coolest actresses in film!
The "Wizard of Oz" is an American classic from 1939 and is a must-see. It's 85 years old, but still holds up. It's still popular today and many folks watch it every year - it's become kind of a tradition. But, PLEASE make sure to include Aunty Sobia - it's PERFECT for her! 💖
What is fun about Oz is watching kids see it for the first time. When Dorothy steps into the technicolor world of Munchkin Land every kid walks through the door with her. It is watching their eyes fill with wonder. I love seeing that. It's somehow the magic I still feel and I'm older than soap 😅
Your English was fine. I understood everything both of you said. I have watched many reactions to "Psycho," but must say that yours was the BEST I've ever seen. Congratulations on an excellent job!
Alfred Hitchcock's classic suspense thrillers are worth exploring. Here are just a few of his top titles: "Marnie" "The Birds" "To Catch a Thief" "The Man Who Knew Too Much" (the 1950's version) "Vertigo" "North By Northwest" "The Trouble With Harry" "Rear Window" "Rope" "Dial M for Murder" "Shadow of a Doubt" "Rebecca"
Recommendations for older classics: Any Hitchcock film is a must watch, North by Northwest, The Birds and Vertigo. Ben Hur (1959) The Quiet Man Casablanca
The eeriest scene to me was the conversation that Norman and Marion had in the parlor while she was eating. A creepy foreshadowing of her own death as well as a veiled reference that he made concerning the death of his mother's boyfriend were all included in that bone chilling scene with the room being filled with stuffed dead birds. Bravo to Alfred Hitchcock for such astute observation of detail while creating this horror classic.
Glad you mentioned sharp dialogue in the film. It was a common thing in many films during those times esp with this director Hitchcock and if you really pay attention to certain things the director makes Norman Bates give clues about his condition to the watcher. When he was having a conversation with Marion he said "his mom is harmless like one of those stuffed birds" He treated his mom's body like his taxidermy hobby. Also he said "my mom just goes a little mad sometimes. We all go a little mad sometimes" which is a clue that he was insane. Also notice the occuring concept of birds throughout the film from Marion's last name Crane which is a type of bird, Norman stuffing birds and telling Marion she eats like a bird (which is a phrase to say someone eats a little), the characters looking bird like such as the cop and car salesman. The cop watching Marion like a bird. When we think of birds they watch people and animals unsuspectingly, seem harmless and passive. Like Norman seemed passive and harmless but he wasn't. He was also watching Marion through the peephole.
Notice the shower scene killing wasn't graphic. In those times death scenes were mild or sometimes they didn't even show them. The director actually had to redo the scene bec censors watching the first cut wanted less blood. Still ended up being shocking to audiences in those times. The end scene where they talked about Norman being two people was bec the concept of having a split personality disorder was not really known to the audience at that time and was fairly new discovery in psychology too
Alfred Hitchcock was The Master of suspense thrillers. The American film industry would be nothing without him. Norman Bates is one of the greatest film villains ever. His last stare at us - the audience - at the very end is the best part of the film!
@@Cinephilesreact786 His daughter, Patricia Hitchcock, had a much bigger better role in "Strangers On A Train," which her dad directed eight years earlier. She gave great comic relief and two dramatic scenes that were critical to the film.
I would like to recommend the old universal monster movies. Dracula, the Mummy, the Wolfman, Frankenstein, the Creature from the Black Lagoon Bride of Frankenstein, Frankenstein meets the Wolfman etc. They are all great classics.
When this was shown in theaters (a hot June 1960), because most theaters had air conditioning, sometimes people would show up very late to movies because they came mainly to enjoy air conditioning for a few hours, and only partly for the movie. So the moviemakers said no one will be admitted to THIS movie if they come late -- because of the surprise of the supposed "main character" (Marion) being killed so early in the movie.
Your English vocabulary is very good--no apologies needed! I recommend two fine classics: Double Indemnity (1944) a great film noir involving a murder plot, and The Grapes of Wrath (1940), concerning displaced American families in the depths of the great depression of the 1930s.

In the first scene the boyfriend said he couldn't marry her yet bec he didnt have the money to support their life together yet bec his job didnt pay well and he paid alimony (money given to an ex spouse monthly on a permanent basis or until they marry again depending on which state theyre in)
The reason why youve seen rhe shower scene before in another film is bec of this film. This film is so iconic that its music, Normans charcter and the shower scene has been copied in many films and songs after it
The opening scene with the two unmarried characters embracing in bed together was uncommon for its time so it was a bit shcoking. The Censors didnt allow that prior to it. Even married couples would be shown in seperate beds. The shower scene also showing such nudity was uncommon too. The censors wanted both scenes cut but its said that the director charmed and tricked rhem into not cutting both scenes 😂

Think that it's strange that Sam Loomis and Norman Bates didn't know each other. Seems like Normal lives close to the small town "Fairvale" where Sam sells hardware & tools and Norman would need those things running a motel, and they're both about the same age so should have known each other in school. Butttttt, you don't think about that when you're first watching the movie so I guess it doesn't matter.

Seems like Normal lives close to the small town "Fairvale" where Sam sells hardware & tools and Norman would need those things running a motel, and they're both about the same age so should have known each other in school. Butttttt, you don't think about that when you're first watching the movie so I guess it doesn't matter.
Two thumbs up👍
Thanks!
Welcome!
Really enjoyed this reaction 👍, I watched it twice!
There's also _Plan 9 from Outer Space,_ a movie that is so terrible it's considered a _masterpiece._
Great film!!! If you like Hitchcock, please react to Rope, Vertigo and The Birds!!!
Another classic movies for enjoy:
The day the earth stood still (1954).
The thing (1951).
The dollar trilogy of Clint Eastwood.
I watched this movie in high school for film study class
Scariest movie ever. Took me a long time to shower at night after seeing this movie.
Great reaction and one of my favorite movies. Can't remember if you guys reacted to American Pyscho yet but it is also a great and crazy movie. Different tone than mystery like "Psycho" but of following the life of serial killer and how messed up their daily life is. Its one of Christian Bales best roles in my opinion.
When Lila approaches Mrs. Bates in fruit cellar, you said “She is OLD” hahahaha. Then when Norman appears with knife, you said “Who is SHE, the sister of Norman??”😂 Your reaction was priceless!
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory
Excellent reaction video as always!!! Please watch Paranormal Activity 1 and 2 if you can. Also, The Ritual starring Rafe Spall. About a group of friends who get lost in the woods. Greetings from Toronto Canada!
I enjoyed your reaction 🙂
Thank you!!
Wanna keep up with the classics, watch Spartacus.
Your English is improving very well.
Try watching the original 1974 Texas Chainsaw Massacre...
I think Naveed did a solo reaction to it.
Your English is very good 🙂
The framing of the scenes also evoke emotion; and kind of wrong foot you with awkward view points :(
The English spoken in this video is very good, but I miss the Hindi/ Urdu.
Peeping Tom is another good film!
Naveed or Mansoor ko Avatar 2 or Mission Impossible series dikana he please
Your English is perfect. There's just too much of it. Talk less.
It's a reaction channel they're supposed to react.
@@Buckaroo_Baldwin Reaction doesn't mean a running commentary. Learn the distinction.
@@prescottlange It's a cultural thing deal with it, besides why are you trying to pay attention to the movie?
@@Buckaroo_Baldwin I'm paying attention to them not paying attention. Can't react if you're too busy babbling. Now deal with my comment.

During the last shot of Norman, a shot of a skull is superimposed over it.
