Ahh the good ole days. I too was hypnotised by it, it was my older brother’s record … it had like a fortune wheel cut on the cover that you could spin😁 it was like a sense of discovering something magical 🧙
Zep I. I too listened to my older brothers albums, down in the basement on an old mattress. I discovered this album in 7th grade prob ‘71-‘72. By the time I was in 9th grade it was my favorite album to trip to. Def in my top 3 greatest of all time.
@@fuzzyjax man rolling into Black Mountain Side after Your Time! The brilliance that was going on at such a young age with these guys - I can't think of much music that has hit me as hard as hearing a lot of the early Zep recordings on first listen. Great tutorial on Steeler. Been a fan all of free since turn of sobs. Took my wife to free concert back around 1970 when they were opening for somebody. We basically stood alone upfront and when they were done I said let's go.
Great tune! Love that one! Thanks JJ! I also like the Gram Parsons shirt! I grew up just a few miles from where Gram did here in central Florida, and he was a heavy influence on my love of music! Keep the LZEP coming!😊👍👌😎
I gotta thank you brother. You’ve hit the nail on the head with these vids and the way you show them. Right on! Play it. I get it. I got it. Thank you man.
Another outstanding lesson JJ. Thanks again for what you do for the guitar community . The hand slap technique is so cool. I am so glad you showed that unique . It really makes the song sound perfect
Thanks for clarifying the picking pattern, I've been wondering this for many years. Loved that picking on all those songs from that album. It was such a good smorgasbord of fine guitar playing. Studio Jimmy is the man. No wonder he was a great session man. Thanks James James.
One of my favorite takeaways from your videos is how big an impact hand position and fingering choices has on phrasing. We may be playing the same notes, but they often sound very different.
James, can you play an Irish Tenor Banjo? It has only 4 strings, so I figured since you're doing such a good job in teaching us cool guitar songs, maybe you can teach me banjo? 😃😃😃.
If you learn this beware!! This is not a good choice for a Bridal dance. We were asked to stretch out the only slow song we knew for a Bridal dance. The look on our singers face when he realized what he was actually singing was priceless. Try changing the lyrics on the fly. Not as easy as you might think.
🤠☃️❄️🎅🤶🎄🎁 Happy holidays to you and yours You made it just a whole year almost😱 you left RUclips and never did anything as far as uploading you're missed but hopefully you had a great year. This was an excellent one you did a great job with the flat pic I watched some of these lessons back and forth and so many just finger pick it or use a thumb pick but if you're good and can arpregiate it sounds awesome and I think Jimmy used to pick but I don't know if he fingered pick this out like he did with the babe I'm going to leave you or not. It's like when you're doing like behind Blue eyes or Pete Townsend stuff he's not really a finger picker either he kind of arepreciates the hell out of everything too with a pic. Be safe friend
Way to go with the gram parsons shirt…I just read a biography on gram called “20,000 Roads”…he was something else boy god luv him and rip…and I highly recommend the book too
After this played on the album, I'd always pick up the needle on the turntable cause I didn't wanna hear hats off to roy harper...the only song I didn't like. Now I like it.
I’ve seen many of your lessons that when you say G you play a G without putting your index finger on the A string .. 🤔 is that your preferred way to play G?

Brilliant....you’re channels are amongst the best resources on the internet! Thanks!
Miss this channel so much
Fantastic, as always. We miss you! Please come back.
I can still remember hearing this one on my turn table, for the first time ever. It really was a magical song.

That SJ in natural finish is beautiful
When of my favorites. And you nailed it.
Learning alternate fingerings for common chords is very useful! Well done, sir!

Beautiful guitar
An awesome kind of awesome, once again JJ
All I can say is you are an amazing guitar player. Love your lessons and selection of songs. Thank you
3:35 that little pre-chorus is so so good.

My favorite Zep song!! And one of your best lessons in my opinion 👍🙏
i think of Dread Zeppelin every time I hear this song
DZ is awesome!
Sweet song, James!!

Another great lesson. Gram Parsons too!!!!
This is a great lesson, thanks!
I used to play it back in the late 60s but fogot how to play it . Thanks for the lesson James
I always appreciate the fact that you cover songs that I overlook, even with the Zeppelin Alfred Music book set here at home. Thank you!
the alfred zeppelin complete studio albums book literally taught me guitar
Thanks JJ good one to learn!!
Love this tutorial , thanks ! 😊
Love the Flutie Flakes, classic!

For the first time… you did a song i already knew perfectly (but Thanks for the validation!)

Page and the black crowes did an awesome electric version of this when they toured
Nice one!
First Led Zeppelin song I learned on drums.
Just saw Get the Led Out this weekend, any Led Head will Love it.
Thanks again
Love the shirt…I named my oldest son after Gram.
Even Zeppelin’s own ‘Hey, Hey, What can I Do’ has a variation of these same chords.
Jimmy like recycle some of his stuff a little bit kind of like Steve Miller did very well LOL.
Hey, thanks again for the slapping; l couldn't get it a year or so ago when I tried to do it, I started catching on this time; gracias, amigo
I subscribed because, I fancy me solos.
awesome, sometimes I watch just to hear you play it, mostly I'm trying to finger it. Hey, is the car from vanishing point, Kowalski
I also heard Imagine A Man in there, speaking of Pete. I know you did that one too!
How do you find all of those great T-shirts?
Good ones use to be available in the back of Cream and Hit parader magazines..but magazines are no more

And before any of those songs you named with this chord progression was Hard Monkey by the great 10 Years After.
Led Zeppelin lll is definitely my favorite followed by Physical Graffiti 😁.... Then Led Zeppelin l
Led Zeppelin IV!

And he was a great artist too imo
Sadly Gram died too young, nevertheless he did , like Buddy Holly, create a lasting group of work.

Hats off to Roy Harper was on Zep 3. This is on Zep 1.
Black Mountain Side is the song it blends into.
I’ve seen many of your lessons that when you say G you play a G without putting your index finger on the A string .. 🤔 is that your preferred way to play G?
I usually mute the A string to make it a G5 chord. It's not all that unusual.
@@jamesjames9275 ok I see. Thanks mate

A little like babe I'm gonna leave you with the picking part
I wonder just how stale those Flutie Flakes are.
You know Flutie Flakes are famous for making a comeback ;-)
The song Choices are impeccable as is your instruction. I've got a lot of catching up to do with your lessons. Keep up that bitching playing.
