Please don't buy eco flow if you are planning a full off grid setup. There are other proho installation, friendly options that can literally get you three times the amount of power for the same price. This setup has its uses, but running a shop or a household can be done a lot more efficiently with different brands and types of solar equipment. Here is a comparison: What he showed you connected in the shop cost approx. $18,000.00 The system approx specs are this: 1. 7,200 watts surge power 2. 24kw of battery storage 3. 800 watt solar (PV) input. In comparison, you can go with a user-friendly EG4 system for $17,000. Its specs would be: 1. 12,000 watts surge power 2. 42kw battery storage 3. 9,000 watts solar (PV) input. The eco flow has its uses, and I'm glad it works for him. However, it is not the best option for powering a home.
Their most overlooked product is the alternator charger. It wires direct to the alternator of your car or truck. Fast charge in the driveway in an hour. Really don’t even need a gas generator for charging anymore especially considering if you keep your vehicle above 1/4 tank you have more fuel on tap than most people have in Jerry cans for their generator
You can just do jumper cables to batteries joined together. Heck I run mine under the garage door and auto crank the car outside and it runs for 20 min then cuts off lol...
Have to agree 100%, having 2 of these, going through the aftermath of the hurricanes here in FL, made a huge difference, generating power is one thing, but being able to store it in a usable form facotor is a winner.
My question would be, what is the lifespan of the internal batteries? How many charge cycles? Does the battery develop a memory and lose duration between charging? And how does it do in extreme cold? Where I live can have stretches of -20F.
I don't care if this is a ecoflow ad. I prefer these to company ads that have a much higher chance of lying. I really trust wranglerstar. He's one of the few RUclipsrs whose recommendations id purchase. I use ecoflow (not because of him) and they are stellar. Id suggest buying 2 if you get smaller units. It's easier to transport them, run multiple appliances in different areas, you can charge one while using the other, or lend one to friends/family. I have done all these things. Also make sure to get a solar panel and make it a big one. I have a smaller solar panel and it barely got me 10% over a few hours with adjustments of angle every few hours.
@@emeralddrgn4it does but this is where you start imo no noise no fumes just plug it in very powerful will it run your fridge and ac and heat no but your phones WiFi small heaters a fan it’s just an amazing product to have
I have solar and batteries, including some ecoflow products. I can run several days off battery power alone and, If I don't get enough solar, I can recharge all the batteries by starting the generator for 2 hours. Combined, I can go months. A generator is just another tool in the kit.
Good stuff! Electricity generation and storage is essential in not just emergencies but daily life. Food storage and prep., running water pumps, AC, heating systems, communication, medical equipment, lighting, security... Gas/diesel/propane generators are good, but need fuel, maintenance, and are loud, which can attract unwanted attention. Being able to collect(solar) and store electricity, to save fuel and keep the generators quiet are a huge benefit. 11/27/2024 there are still 60,000 plus people without power in Tennessee and North Carolina from the storms.
I just went off grid with the delta pro ultra, the system is designed as a whole home backup but it is absolutely fool proof plug and play. I highly recommend this company
I have a delta 2 and a river 2 pro. Also a couple of 220w solar panels. I use both as battery backups for some of my essentials (internet, cameras, and my refrigerator). They are essential when power drops. I do plan to get another delta and 3 more solar panels (2 for the next delta and 1 more for the other delta). I’ll be able to keep all my essentials without needing my generator. If there is a long time without power and I need to charge up more, I do have a generator to keep me going longer. Eco Flow isn’t the only one on the market (Anker and Bluetti are good as well), but it’s the best on the market and I believe it’s worth it.
Some of us that have watched long enough have followed thru with the solid advice on the channel. My ecoflows and starlink allowed me access to information when all other sources (power, internet, landlines and cell phones) were down for five days after the “bomb cyclone” that hit near Seattle. Act accordingly!
Would be cool to see you do a real world test to power your cozy cabin with a couple fridges and deep freeze and some misc for a couple days to see what you need for solar panels to keep up with a small house with a few appliances in a real world test. Im guessing 400w would be enough for bare minimum if there wasnt too much overcast ??
Buy single batteries 100 amp/hrs each for 1/4 the price of Ecoflow, and 3 times the power, with that savings get a solar panel, solar controller , inverter, and your off too the races and don’t need to plug in to recharge /stay off grid .
Or you can just buy the assembled portable package that actually costs less than all that and works out of the box. The pelican case alone costs as much as a cheap Ecoflow unit. You going to wreck the waterproof case to install fans or do you think you don't need them? lol
The east side of Puget Sound (Bellevue, sammamish, issaquah), many of whom have been out of power for nearly a week, would have benefitted from Cody's numerous videos stressing the importance of having backup power. Encouraged by Cody's videos, I got starlink and a handful of eco flow batteries
Hotels on the eastside were completely sold out for days after the "bomb cyclone" (i.e, wind storm). I've used the Ecoflow units I picked up during a few power outages. Cody, you earned your Ecoflow affiliate link commissions!
i live in one of the listed cites and we got power back late Sunday night. also we were burning around 10 gallons of gas a day keeping the generator going
Nobody ever thinks of this, if you have a wood-burning stove you should have a Sterling engine. It's old Tech that spins consistently reliably and it only needs a heat source. And it will spin a turbine and generate electricity. Sterling engine
Great to hear about the Eco Flow no questions asked support of the fine folks - that our Gov abandoned - of TN and the surrounding area. I am proud to spend my hard-earned money at an outfit like that - good products and a strong supporter of the community in times of need.
I live in western washington and lost power for 5 days. I have prepared and have a generator with a generator interlock on my main panel. I turned the generator off at night and it would have been nice to have something like the river 3 to keep the phones and batteries topped off at night. Thanks for the video.
I don't use ecoflow but I do have a similar product from Anker called the Solix f2000 with the expansion battery. Also an excellent product. Same concept as ecoflow and I use them for powering just about anything. I prefer the Anker Solix F2000 because it has a 30 AMP RV plug built in as well. I can run my entire RV or my cabin off grid for days. I keep the solar panels plugged in when off grid because it charges while using it. If no sun I can run my generator for an hour and be back to 80-90%. These solar generators are great! No matter what brand you choose I definitely recommend them as well.
We have some Ecoflows and he's not wrong about the Black Friday Deals. Lots of people have videos showing which units run a fridge, etc. In Oregon, our solar panels don't work in the winter but......we can charge these by plugging in the car or run to a friend's house across town and charge these up in an hour or 2. Super helpful and portable.
A similar product that is currently on sale from buddy Bezos is the Anker Solix C1000. You can get the 1800w solar generator with a 200w solar panel for $750. Not to step on your sponsorship, but it is a very good deal and Anker makes great electronics.

Thanks Cody! Just ordered the River 3 with solar panel. I'm totally stoked to get it , been thinking about the larger units you use but this is a great start for my camping and hunting trips. Cheers!

You may want to check out the deals on the DJI 1000. It’s 1024WH with 2200W output. It’s the same company that makes the great drones. They have the DJI 1000 for $380!!! I have one and can say it beats the delta 2 hands down
The Delta is so much better. You don't need to buy a bunch of adapters to use it like the DJI. Better warranty. You have a mobile app to perform operations and view stats.

Cody, Everybody is taking about a grid down situation....... Ok i understand that, but my question on the Delta 3 plus will it run a small portable welder, the titanium 125 wire feed welder in remote locations?
Where you headed to in Spokane? I live up on Mt. Spokane. Maybe we could meet up. I turned 18 a few months ago and have enjoyed your yt channel for years. currently studying for ham radio license. Would be proud to shake your hand.

It's a good idea to have an EcoFlow and a gas generator. You should also get a Faraday bag to keep that equipment in.
Cody, the toupee is on point.
during the power outage from the wind storm that just hit in western WA we were burning around 10 gallons of gas a day
Copper mesh protects against emp. You can store electronics safely and cheaply.
whats the point of having your starlink gear in faraday bags, if your power source isnt?
Won't matter if the internet is gone!

@wranglerstar bring back the lantern videos!!!!
I got a delta 2 (LFP) version for 399… 60% off
EMP happens nothing is working! Unless it's in a Faraday bag/box for every electronic gadget. I like the set up though, great ideas!
Do you have a Ham Radio License? If so, what is your callsign?
I'm not far from you, out in Astoria. AC7AA
Nice show!
Happy Thanksgiving
Man, that toupee is looking sharp!!!
great info. will keep an eye on their upcoming deals.
I wish portable power stations werent so expensive here in iceland
I imagine it’s better to go a little bigger than you think you need ? I see the eco flow river 2 is pretty affordable but might not be the best if you needed to charge phones and run a star link set up ?
Always go a bit bigger.
They have a new wind technology that is supposed to be a gsme-changer.
Thank you for the heads up.
Yes use everyday on the island
Cody,
Everybody is taking about a grid down situation....... Ok i understand that, but my question on the Delta 3 plus will it run a small portable welder, the titanium 125 wire feed welder in remote locations?
Probably, but not for very long.
@emeralddrgn4 thank you
What unit do you recommend to run a 3/4 hp 220w well pump? Thanks
How many amps does it draw?
Are you on Eco Flow's payroll? Serious question
Not much reason to have starlink if you have a newer iPhone. You can text using apples satellites, and call emergency services over satellite
What about 2 weeks of overcast in the winter? Will it still charge during daylight hours?
It will charge but reduced rate.
@wranglerstar Is there be a scenario where the gas generator will need to step in?
Lol, Cody's local time when showing the Ecoflow ap is 4:20.
Man-Servant!!!
Any ideas on where to get a good geiger counter?
Thanks WS! You convinced me!
Thank you for the info
Where you headed to in Spokane? I live up on Mt. Spokane. Maybe we could meet up. I turned 18 a few months ago and have enjoyed your yt channel for years. currently studying for ham radio license. Would be proud to shake your hand.
Unfortunately we have many hours of driving and have to do a quick turnaround (childcare). Glad you like the videos William. C
Ok thanks. Maybe next time. Have a good trip Wranglerstar.
Id wait until the overheating issue is fixed with the delta 3 plus
Can you run the solar panels to the River3?
Momma Kitty sold it!
