    So many awesome moments though. Love the release of the whole group at once!

    Something I like about District:
    They have a fair amount of depth in their roster. They don't have any outstanding players (like Kyle Soderman for example), but they don't have anyone they're afraid of playing either. They also made sure to get nearly everyone on the quad at least once in their first match, which gave them ALL valuable practice.

    • @HerrVonBlitzkrieg
      @HerrVonBlitzkrieg 7 месяцев назад

      Definitely an underdiscussed attribute, and one that seems to be a major predictor of success. One of the reasons both Apex teams have been so effective is that there are really no weak links on the roster, so they're guaranteed beneficial match-ups when going against any other team that priorities a star player or starting lineup once those players have been cycled through (like we've seen in Moon/HF matches or to a lesser degree with last group's Sun/Tempest). As comp levels continue to grow, roster depth and composition is going to play an increasingly large role imo

    • @appletree13
      @appletree13 7 месяцев назад

      @@HerrVonBlitzkrieg yeah, it's a lot like other sports too (soccer/football comes to mind). I feel like to stop the "prioritise players xyz above all else" thing they should add an "each team member must participate in at least one chase" rule, which I feel would incentivise teams to diversify more and create interesting strategy dynamics, because let's face it; there's a lot of varying skill between each competitor,

    What a group! District proving they’re solid, OLLO taking down GNF, and Stephen having a kid. There was so much going on here, and kudos to WCT for bringing us these matches

    District beat my expectations coming into this tournament. For first-timers, they were crazy! And the win against Ollo was mad.
    Congrats to all the teams involved. Many of the match results in group B were surprising :0

      Yeah definitely! Though it certainly helped them that Ollo were lacking McCarty. Hannigan and the Velociraptor took on a lot of chases earlier on and that left them drained.

    This new canadian team though ! I liked how they went through all of their roster and made everyone play and get their first time on the quad. They very well could've done like Hollywood freerunners and play the same 2-3 players that seem to perform best and be really competitive about it... But canadians being canadians I love it XD
    And despite doing so, they performed very well. All their athletes are strong and so, they gained a new fan lol

    Sooo proud of my countrymen in District!! Some inexperience shown in some interactions early on, but absolutely incredible instincts and ability on display in others, especially for a team making their WCT debut 🔥🇨🇦
    Standout performances from Jake for APK Grey, Sean for GNF, and Roland for Ollo as well! The latter team was *definitely* hindered by the loss of their captain, and that exposed a pretty insurmountable skill gap they'll need to reconcile with in future comps. Huge congrats to Steez regardless, pretty inarguable reason for bowing out early haha

    It felt weird to see the match between OLLO and GNF without Davis, Ruji, Stephen and even Sean Higgins, who looked like a very good member of OLLO last time. I want to see both teams facing off with all their best players

    In case of equal points, head-to-head results are the tiebreaker, right?
    Funfact, if it was decided by point difference (and then more points scored), APK Grey would be first with 6 points and 6:4 diff, while GNF would be second with also 6 points and 5:3 diff. (District beats OLLO h2h and on points diff as well.)

    What is the math that writes Ollo as leaving before their match with GNF? District 1 win 2 loss, Ollo ends with 1 win 2 loss, I can only think it as settling through total points scored which isn't known for Ollo beginning the match? 54:31 1-0 round 6: "As things stand Ollo are looking to sign off with a victory"

    • @enzoli23
      @enzoli23 7 месяцев назад

      I assume the tiebreaker is head-to-head results, and since District beat Ollo, it wouldn't change anything.

    Is it the SOUND or the LIGHT that determines the tag time? The tag was made AFTER the signal and then the light went off. Dude was cheated out of his evasion, from my slow-mo.

    • @appletree13
      @appletree13 7 месяцев назад +2

      If it's a DTR it's generally the ref's decision, but they do often base it on the lights going green. My guess is because it's simply easier to see.

    Okay, serial question though: where do i go and put my money to be able to see the whole thing already? Cuz (unless I'm horribly mistaken) it must've happened in a span of two days or so, several weeks or so ago? Like, is there some grand design behind these things popping up sliced up so (apart from (sadistically) keeping us lot interested without an increase in event frequency)? Some capitalization model I'm desperately unaware of? And is there any way to "cheat" that design? Cuz I'd totally pay for this...
