Lilac Love is a 2016 release from Amouage. Gardenia, heliotrope, cacao, and vanilla are the main players here, though I can pick up some orris root (iris) here as well. Noticeably absent is lilac! I am not sure if the florals combine to smell like lilac (as some have suggested) or if there is a lilac note (as listed in Fragrantica).
I give this is a robust 4/5 sprays. I call it the 'snuggle scent,' and it's just very versatile and so well-blended. The bottle is strikingly beautiful as well. Price point is just way too high, though. Try and get it for less than $200. Guess whose getting the rest of the sample for Mother's Day?

This fragrance really has me intrigued. I like the detail you gave this fragrance, and I loved the serendipitous little story you shared about your Mom, Aunt and Grandparents. My understanding is that there is a created Lilac accord in Lilac Love, and I love the smell of Lilacs and cacao, so one would think this would be a perfect fragrance for me. I think I see a sample of this one on it's way to me very soon! Thanks for the review!
Hi Craft-O-Matic! Thanks for your kind words. The cacao note is certainly divine. I gave it to my mom after the episode and she didn't care for it...thought the lilac accord was a little too strong for her. Not for me; I really enjoyed this fragrance. Great review. Lilac Love is definitely one of my favorites from the Amouage house. I just love it! 💜 I have it in a travel spray & it’s definitely on my wishlist.

It’s a beautiful scent, as you mention, not really lilacs. I get heliotrope, orris, cream, and cacao. It’s a very cozy scent and the notes show up back on forth in stages, a sign of masterful blending.

That Cologne Guy if you enjoy going through the women’s collection, I would suggest Día and Memoir (before reformulation), Ciel, and Reflection. Honour is also good but not the best in its genre,

Great review ! Amouage Lilac it's cozy, powdery, warm scent. Not enough complex and sophisticated to pay retail price, but got it at discounted price and totally worth it.

@@ThatCologneGuy I am a fan of this house. I cannot pick just one favorite, but if I have to list the ones I prefer the most, here there are: Memoir, Interlude, Epic, Gold, Lyric, Figment, Gold, Fate, Beloved, Sunshine, Ubar.
It is easy on my end, Jubilation XXV, but then after that, wow...a Top 5 would be hard...but fun!

Yeah, I will have to try and get some more samples of just this one...it's a keeper, for sure. The pic doesn't do the bottle justice, either...just a gorgeous bottle.

Dear ben, I am honored to be featured in episode 70 just in time for Mother’s Day! The picture you posted brought back great memories of the pink concert you took me to! By the way, you say in this episode you wouldn’t pay 400.00 for anything, but I do recall what you paid for those tickets ! Beautiful bottle, beautiful description, heck I can almost smell it over the intranet ! I am a gardenia fan and look forward to this fragrance! You didn’t say what the girls thought of it, and I was just wondering what they said about Lilac Love! Thank you, even though we cant be together on Mother’s Day, you have made it very special!
Natalia said it was a very "huggy" scent and loved it. I wouldn't pay $400 for any fragrance, but I would always happily pay whatever it takes for Pink! so serenade you in the front row!

:) It would baaaarely get you through a work shift! Ha ha...It should last longer, for that price! I have a general idea on the scents....I can usually tease apart 3-4, however I do go to Fragrantica after I make my notes...they list the notes for each fragrance there.
