What's your favorite Italian food?
Lasagne, and everything ..... love too many. 😄✌
Spaghety off course
Lasagne, pasta, risotto
Sate
Mamamiaaaa italiano!!
1:08 "Vuo fa na foto ?" 🤣
Italian here, I don't add sugar when I drink espresso, that's a personal choice - you drank it the right way!😉
good to know!
italian here. I don't add sugar in espresso nor any other form of coffee. I cosider the world as divided in 2 groups, those who put sugar in their coffee and those who don't. People who do, I find them incomprehensible, and not trustworthy. I have a feeling they don't understand the universe the right way and may hide something@@NickKTravel
Exactly. I don't add sugar either. In fact, as far as I'm concerned, espresso is much better without it.
and then there is me, who can't really stand its taste no matter how much sugar @@NickKTravel 😂
Yes! No Sugar in the coffe!
the old man didn't say you can't eat the olives. He said those are not good to make oil out of them , you can only eat them
I’m italian and I can assure you that you can eat lunch at 12pm.
Italy is full of historical monuments, it is truly a beautiful country!
Italy is mainly divided into three parts (North, Center, South), and each part has different cultural customs and pace of life!
I love their holiday bazaar, I always find fresh and cheap food and great merchandise!
I also helped pick olives in Italy, which was the best memory in my life!
It’s really special to see you using chopsticks to eat in Italy, haha!
It's great to watch you making this channel exciting and enriching!
Have a beautiful life! Grazie mille! Ciao ciao! 👍🥰🙏
wow you've done it before too, where did you work at?
@@NickKTravel Vinci, a small mountain town in Tuscany, it is the hometown of Leonardo da Vinci!
@@giannishen No, 20 regions and a huge amount of provinces: 107!
@paolodesiato9497 3 parts = 20 regiones = 14 città metropolitana = 80 provincia = 2 provincia autonoma = 6 libero consorzio comunale = 7903 comune 👈😃👌
3 parts are written in our school geography textbook, and the meaning of north, middle and south exists! 👍🥰👌
Parts do not exist in administration: south centre and north are just hypotethical. Provinces are 107 now@@giannishen
''Do i have to scan it''?

Coming from Japan...everywhere must feel pretty different! I actually read somewhere that Italy is considered the Japan of Europe
We are decidedly the opposite, in behavior, in character, in respecting the rules, certainly the case that amazed the world in the last Football World Cup where after the match of the Japanese national team, all the spectators of Japanese nationality voluntarily cleaned the stadium from waste left there, in Italy it is impossible, and this would be fantastic given the treasures we have but don't appreciate.
@@stevebardella_farm-nature7bis I hear you, but there are parallels that exist on different cultural and economic levels between the two nations.
@kurtcoolson9054 Sbagliato! 😂😂
@@fasullodavvero Sono completamente d'accordo con te! Non hai letto bene la mia riposta? There are many similarities between the Italians and Japanese..including the economic problems and challenges that they are experiencing.
Dream country Italy❤🇮🇹
unfortunately you missed the Duomo's affrescoes by Luca Signorelli, one of the most beautiful masterpiece in all the country. It's a must see absolutely.
We are not so standardized to eat at 1 o'clock every day! Time for lunch changes from town to town, and from person to person actually...
yeah i figured that was the case. lol Makoto san was very insistent on waiting until 1 o'clock to eat every day though. I had to start buying snacks lol
if you eat bread and extravirgin oil in the morning, you sure have to wait before having lunch... I have lunch at 1 or 1.30 though...@@NickKTravel
In small towns they don't even cook for you if you arrive too early. Obviously in Milan or Rome you can eat whenever you want, but 1pm is the time when most of the people have lunch.
As an Italian (Genoa), I prefer the French croissant (buttery) and, for breakfast, the café noir in which to dip the croissant. When in Rome do as the Romans do...
Vieni a Visitare la meravigliosa Sicilia!!!❤
PS: saluti dalla Sicilia!!❤
A lot of italians drink espresso without sugar, don't worry.
We never add sugar!
I always add@@calise8783
Sei simpaticissimo... Da Como un abbraccio❤
Hi Nick, I'm an Italian living abroad and when manage to come back for a holiday the first thing I do in the airport is to drink a coffee to say : I'm home! How nice to see Italy through a foreigner's eyes, thank you for your nice video!
La Bella Vita, the good life. Happy for you that you can enjoy the delicious food, beautiful and different surroundings and vibes, working in nature, fresh air and good company. Thanks for sharing, Peace!
Hello. Not everyone add sugar to the espresso! it's up to you.
Also, the canonical lunch time is at 12 but today many office workers go at 13:00. You are allowed 1 glass of wine at lunch, you have to wait 17 (5 pm) for it if you are a worker. But for a tourist, get the best of it, have more wine at lunch and enjoy the bellavita.
Life in little towns in Italy is much better then the big city, at least in most of them! I'm happy you experienced the true original Italian lifestyle!
Very interesting to know locations in Italy outside the traditional tourist places. Furthermore, this family was very hospitable to welcome you. I'm from the south of Brazil and I'll be in Italy in January. Thanks Nick.
Great video nick!
orvieto station is a bit away from the old town being in te plain below, from there you must take a vehicle or the escalators to visit orvieto proper: welcome to Italy, we love yu coming seeing visiting and tell us all you felt
Love the subtle shade you threw on the coldplay album pricing
Hi Nick, I was very surprised to see that you are in Italy because as son of an Italian father and Indonesian mother I’ve been watching your videos for a while. If you have some spare time, you should come visit Cremona in the north of Italy and be my guest. We could have some Italian food… or nasi goreng, you choose.
Incredible, I clicked the video randomly and I see you were in my hometown Orvieto! Ahah Great Nick! Enjoy your trip
Japan agrees with your body. You look so refreshed. Thank you for sharing Italy in your unique way.
I can so relate with you. I am Italian, living in Japan and speaking Indonesian. What a world!
Beautiful scenery, Nick. 💕Loved your video.
thanks so much!
HI Nick, there are so many exciting things going on even on day one in Italy, Thank you for sharing
you're welcome!
I’m also living in north Italy for more than 26 years,I think so Italy is nice country to visit for vacation 👍
Nice video. Is so strange for me to see my Country from your point of view.
When you tried the first Expresso I shouted "don't drink without sugar!!!! It's too strong as a first try!!!" ahahaah
Oh, I went to Orvieto around February with my family. Did you happen to visit the Well?
Welcome to Italy Nick
The difference between white sugar and brown sugar is not one is synthetic and the other is natural, but just they take off the cinnamon from the brown one to make it white. They're just the same sugar, in terms of process.
Cinnamon? No Cinnamon in Brown sugar
@@ledatufarulo7316 My bad in translation of "cane sugar".
15:01 nick, try to change from ntsc to pal or opposite. maybe it help the flickering issue when inside.
Look for the anti-flicker in your general preferences, changes it to 50hz in Europe, should help.
A different and not well known city. It is fascinating
The cheese on the table for dinner is burrata and it is soooo good. All of the wine was fantastic! Your travels look fantastic.
thanks! it was tasty!
Hi nick, film in 24 frames low iso for no flickering indoors, its a common problem in 30 fps and 60fps or more. 24 and 25 should be okay at 1/50 shutterspeed
The issue you are experiencing with the GoPro is due to the frequency of the electrical grid in Europe. In those regions, the frequency is 50Hz, whereas in the USA, it is 60Hz. Old neon lights operate at the grid frequency, causing a dissonance with the GoPro. You should check the camera settings to see if there is an option related to flickering and adjust it from 60Hz to 50Hz.
or i think i'll just toss the gopro in the trash lol, not a fan of gopros, switching back to my Sony. thanks for the info though, ill try to remember that next time if i use it.
Hey Nick all that good food & wine in Italy it will be on the bike when back in Japan.
Fun to watch that espresso ceremony ;-)
Nice classic italy..loved it, funny when nick said " ini ".., more funny he heard and said " i"m not indonesian bro.. Hehe.. Can't wait next video
Hi, Nick, in Italy you can always go in a "salumeria" and ask for a "panino with..." You can put in mozzarella, cheese, ham, all that you see in front of you often they have also handmade food like eggplants under oil and other things. Then there are backery shops like "Panetteria" o "Forno" here you can have bread but also focacce, pizzette, torte salate and much more. Around at 10.00 o'clock you can find street food like crocche', arancine, pizza fritta and more, it depends on the place you are. "Pasticceria" is a shop where you can get only sweet food handmade. So, if you need to eat before h. 13.00 you can fix very well (no bacon and eggs, thins is true; you can have it only in few hotels' breakfast). P.S. In North Italy people usually eat around h. 12.30; in the middle of Italy around h. 13.00; in the South around 13.30 / 14.00. In general, only _restourants_ and _tavole calde_ and _trattorie_ open arond h.12.30/13.00. P.S. Italians usually don't eats tramezzini (sandwiches) better don't eat them in Italy: there is a lot of more traditional food to taste. Hope you all return soon to Italy . Bye
You have to change the refresh rate of your gopro so the light doesn't flicker indoors. I'm guessing in italy it would be 50hz. So you should record in 50p instead of 60p. Or 25p instead of 30p. 👍
You took the superslow regionale train. Try taking the Freccia Rossa next time
Video Bellissimo.
Italian here. Don't add sugar on espresso , no needed! With cornetto I suggest cappuccino, especially at 8 am. Best combination. Later on espresso, or double espresso. Cheers
Well... I just want to buy that Coldplay record too. But in a cassette format.😅
Orvieto! You are in Umbria my region!
You looks younger and handsomer than some time before, Nick! Enjoy your days ☺️🎉 and life 💗!!
For espresso sugar is not mandory :) Lot of italian dont use sugar on espresso, many others will . I personally drink it very sweetened , but because I don't really like coffee :P
For those who were wondering ,yes I am Italian
ah ok, yeah i saw some people dumping the whole sugar packet in the tiny espresso lol

Hi, I live in Rome but my dad's family is from Bolsena (the lake not far from Orvieto). That part of central Italy is a bit less "fancy" than Tuscany but it is the heart of Etruscan civilization and has very unique landscapes. Food is great. Sadly towns like Orvieto are getting emptier with time, people just move to bigger places (or abroad..) and old traditions are gradually lost.
Umbria is small but have a lot of cities of art to visit
Wahhhh mas nick lagi di italy❤❤
"Rosa canina" is the wild rose.
@18:00 HOTEL CALIFORNIA !!
I love Orvieto duomo
When I saw you remembered to scan the train ticket before boarding it reminded me of one very painful experience many years ago when I was travelling from Assisi to Florence. I forgot to scan the ticket first before jumping on the train. Then when someone came to check the tickets I ended up being charged an additional 50 Euros just for that. I will never ever forget that experience. Until this date I still cannot figure out what is the exact reason that people need to "scan" (so-called "validate") their train tickets first before boarding? To me that is a totally unnecessary thing. What do you all think, especially Italian folks? Please let me know.
15:10 this is because in Europe most lights are set to 25 frames so it gives you this flickering effect
50.... 50 Hz
Good job
in FCO go to eataly upstairs second floor for classics and italian "fast food" that is real food just cooked there for you
2:19 My expression was exactly the same when I ordered that coffee 😂
The white sugar is not synthetic, Is cleaned by molasses. The brown One Is the white one + a percentage of molasses added back
No not all of us add sugar😅
and in north of italy lunch is 12/12.30
Wow italy
Wow nick thank a lot show the italian i love the spagethi bologna 😂😂😂 i really enjoy your travel nick
Thanks! 😃
"like all the international airports"... In fact I believe that feature is the only one in common in between Fiumicino and all the other international airports in the world...
Ciao buddy
Really nice video! But remember, It is not mandatory to add sugar in espresso!
next time order it "lungo" (long) otherwise you only get two drops (or a dirty cup if you like)
I don’t know how Italy managed to preserve so many of their medieval buildings throughout their history.
Nick k i been seeing your videos since 2022 this is your first in italy
Is not fake sugar he was trying to say that the white was normal sugar and the brown was brown sugar 😂 nice place by the way, and the japanese family is sweet, grazie di essere nel nostro paese 🙏

In Italy there are no synthetic sugars, the white one comes from sugar beets and the brown one comes from sugar cane. For correct information. Thanks.

Sugar on your coffee is not mandatory,
Actually if you will have it with no sugar,
You can appreciate more the coffee bean.
Also you can cheat for a bite if you have either an "aperitivo"

indeed 💯agree ❤ Japan
Must go to the Netherland as well
The thing you said about eating exactly at 1 O'clock is not real, in Italy you usually eat between 12:00 and 14:00 but it's not a rule
