    I use a memory wire cutter which is so much easier to cut the wire and it saves your regular wire cutter.

      Thanks Monica! We got the beads at a bead show from a vendor called The Garden of Beadin. Their website says "Czech #2 bugles are 5 mm and there are approx. 1,380 bugles per 12 strand hank." Here's a link to their shop: www.gardenofbeadin.com/czech-and-japanese-bugle-beads

    I have parawire,will rhat work?

    • @TheONeilSisters
      @TheONeilSisters  3 года назад +1

      Great question Teresa! If you are able to easily bend your wire and it stays bent, then it is not memory wire and won't work for this bracelet. Memory wire is a very hard coil of wires. The wire is permanently curved into a coil shape, a lot like a Slinky. You can pull the coils of a memory wire bracelet apart to put the bracelet on and they will automatically spring back into the bracelet shape. Here's what memory wire looks like: amzn.to/3iVsokZ
      Make sure the package says "Memory Wire." And here's the complete how-to with a materials list on our blog: runningwithsisters.com/how-to-make-a-bugle-bead-memory-wire-bracelet/

      Great question! We got the Bugle Beads from Garden of Beadin'. You are correct about the size: www.gardenofbeadin.com/products/2-5mm-czech-bugle-bead-opaque-green-turquoise-luster
      The cylinder beads look to be Delica 8/0 perhaps. About 2mmx3mm. What do you think?

      Here is an example of the memory wire we like: amzn.to/2VIq9sa
      Memory wire is usually just one thickness or gauge. For a bracelet we like 65mm to 70mm diameter.

    In the business, the jewelry trade, the grouping of strands sold is referred to aa a “Hank”.
    Lease use proper terminology. Best to be accurate when teaching.
    Never have heard it called a skein- as if it were yarn. Curious, May I ask where you were told that?😅

    • @TheONeilSisters
      @TheONeilSisters  Год назад

      We've had that comment on this very video before! Yes, folks in the industry call this style of bead grouping a "hank". It reminds us of a "skein" of yarn. We love to buy beads like this - no matter what you call the grouping!

      Amazon has memory wire cutters, affordable. If I recall, as low as $6.
      Regular wire cutters will be laborious and will ruin the blades. It’s beneficial to have appropriate tools on hand.

    The beads that come on skeins as you call them are called “hanks” which is the term used by beaders.

    Hi, I love these memory wire bracelets but I have a question about your heavy duty cutter. I work a lot with wire coils ( I make them) and I keep having trouble with cutting my stainless steel wire. Although it's only a 0.71 mm wire but I need a cutter that is sharp at the very tip so that I can get in between the coil loops to trim them to size. Could you please recommend me a good flush cutter for that purpose? Thank you :-)

    • @TheONeilSisters
      @TheONeilSisters  7 лет назад +1

      Boy, we wish we had better cutters too! It's so hard to get them to cut out at the tip like you described. Our red and black wire cutters are made by Westrim, but we are saying all the time that we need better heavy duty cutters. Let us know if you find a good pair, please! J&K
