A well thought out system - VERY informative! Another advantage to greenhouses' ability to control water is reducing or eliminating cracking in tomatoes,. Some form of protected culture, even a plain poly tunnel, seems to me worth it just for tomatoes - right many can be lost from a heavy rain.

Thanks for the info J.M., I need to modify my greenhouse to double insulate for winter. Last year we had a polar blast and lost half our crops.

    Bonjour JM,
Merci beaucoup!

Yeah, a frame of reference would be nice. Especially since hiring a crew to build it for you is usually an additional 25-33% of the cost of the structure.

Was wondering that myself. Their website says call for quotes but I was able to find a proposal from Harnois for someone in 2021 for an Ovaltech I. Dimensions were 27x95 and freight was $4,429. Total cost was $59,360 USD so I’m guessing JMs is closer to 100k. Way out of my budget at the moment, that’s for sure lol.

@@AnenLaylle7023 Hi there, allow us to give some context to your statement. JM and his wife started out at their own farm, la Grelinette, which was an entirely independent venture that became profitable with a very modest initial investment.
His subsequent project, la Ferme des Quatre Temps (which you are referring to) received financial backing from an external investor explicitly for the purpose of becoming an educational project: it allowed Jean-Martin and his team to experiment with, and perfect many techniques. The educational mission of FQT is also to train 10 farmers every year with the goal of having them start their own small-scale organic farms.
The Old Mill is JM's new farm project and is completely independent of FQT farm. Hopefully that gives you a better picture of what's going on behind the scenes.

the chinese designed green houses using a solid back insulated wall are far superior including a much larger insulating layer better hight on working area, more structural ability against snow and even the opinion of a roll down reflective layer in between the two. or a north American version can be found at "citris in the snow " a proven geothermal design saving the max on your energy budget - that all said this is a nice layout very professional thanks for the video ruclips.net/video/sbi0UrSMxoM/видео.html
