"No country is actually destined to be oppressed, while at the same time, no country or no people are immune to oppression and dictatorship". Very powerful way to end a phenomenal speech. Thank you Miss Nabourema for this moving lecture. Your courage and strength that keeps you fighting for the greater good is absolutely inspiring. What an amazing human being.

@@BinaryReader Well because she said the things she has gone through and you can noticed her story is true from her emotions. I think a person can noticed the difference when a person like her is just telling a story as opposed to a woman who has really lived the suffering and the pain i dont suggest people to be victims but in some sense tell people your sad and hard story of tyranny and she is giving other people advice on how to prevent things that she went through. People stories need to be listened too and many woman from other countries need to be help, that is very different than American Woman Complaining about The USA Patriarchy which i think is absolutely stupid and ungreatful but this woman story is true.

You can tell sometimes when a person has actually been through tough times and unfair situations by the way they talk and the way they express them self especially if they are from foreign countries like she, so i have so simpathy for her but that does not mean that i am naive enough to not know whats going on with the radical feminist Mee_Too Movement because i do know and most of it i dont buy, but some stories are true not all, not the majority but some. Majority of dictators are usually elected in.
Meaning that the scary "coming in and stripping power" idea of tyrants is very outdated. Citizens more often than not will voluntarily give up their powers/rights to a leader for various reasons (security, war, crisis, financial collapse, etc.). We choose the dictator, not the other way around in most cases.
So how willing is your country to become a dictatorship? How willing are they to give up their freedoms in order for emotional security? It's often countries that are in a bad place to start with and become desperate enough to turn to a dictator.

Sad. People are willing to give up their freedoms for the illusion of security. In the US as long as we have our 1st and 2nd amendment we will remain free. If we lose those 2 amendments, we lose our freedom and sure enough we’ll be back for another civil war.

Very interesting. For me, as a French who lives near Paris, I don't feel very at ease when I think about the Gilets Jaunes. Seriously, this is getting far. These series of demonstrations started in November, now we are almost in April, and it keeps happening every Saturday. Parisians know that some places are to be avoided on Saturdays because there might be violence. Every time, you can see pictures of policial or civil violence pop out on the internet, pictures that show people being hit, people with serious wounds, sometimes who lose an eye in the battle... And at the same time, you have our beloved Castaner who says that there are no cops attacking civilians. You have the government building protections about fancy places in Paris to protect them from angry crowds, but not really listening to what those angry crowds actually ask for. So what does it tell us? I begin to fear that it might be just the beginning of something bigger. I am very curious to see what will be told about this period we are living in future years or decades. This will obviously be a very serious series of events in the history of France in the 21st century. I would also like to know foreigners' opinions about all this.

A country may not be a dictatorship not at risk of becoming one, but a country can be the reason of a dictatorship.

@@JamieLennX that's your problem ... you don't care. A constitutional republic clearly outlines a government's obligations and jurisdiction.
