Ultimate Baseball Training hey the one part of my game the I killing me a little is my sprints. I need and want to get fast! Can u do a sprint workout video!
Ultimate Baseball Training dude pls help me.i need to pass a physical test which is to throw the ball 61 metre..I failed 2 time.i could throw only56 metre.next physical will be at november.only 2 month for training..can I improve 6metre to reach 61metre??pls reply
Upright rows is a no no exercise. Every physical therapist I have ever meet said this is a horrible excercise because no matter how you do it, it causes shoulder impingment. Regardless of the weight. The rest of your exercises look great in your program.
Can you do a video on what baseball players should be doing to stay healthy, like diets and workouts they should do everything Day. I love you channel by the way I do not play baseball but I do play softball but your channel is fit for both, keep the great work up!!
Hi I know this comment is old but what I do is i go on a vegan diet 5-6 days a week and then 2 days are my "cheat" days where I eat meat drink cow milk and stuff like that.
This is great. I just did the whole thing with 5lbs on each hand, 1 set of 15 reps each, and I know I'm not gonna be able to lift my arms tomorrow but god damn it feels good right now. That pleasant ache from post-workout that tells you you've activated a lot of underused muscles. I'm trying to get in shape to play baseball with men and hopefully pitch, so this was exactly what I was looking for. I need as much power as I can get in my throw.
This video helped me tremendously! I started slowpitch softball recently and haven't played in 20 years and im already throwing harder and further! Plus after 1 week of doing these exercises it healed my bursitis!
Amen brother, I've had so much trouble going from the offseason to spring because of the limiting factor of weather. But one thing that I do that kind of helps is just practicing my mechanics for my swing or for throwing/pitching. I try to mimic movements from pro players while incorporating things that I already know I need to work on (keeping my head on the imaginary ball during a swing, not falling off to one side after a throw/pitch) Hope this helps you out a little!
Who gave this a thumbs down?? Both my kids who play travel softball & baseball do these--especially the "Ys." They work. I 100% attribute these exercises to their great ability to throw with velocity. Thanks, Coach Justin.
Great video, I do some of these drills using J-Bands, before these tips I had shoulder pain when I through the ball, today I'm fine. I recommend this exercise routine to keep your arm healthy. Thank you, coach Justin, and congratulations on your excellent work you did.
This video was very helpful. I’m not the biggest guy but Im a catcher and I wanted to build my arm strength. I am building my legs as well as doing these and other things and my arm strength has gone through the roof
Great video. If I may add to number 5 external/internal rotation, this may work much better in a lean or a laying position as this would keep constant tension on the rotator cuff and allow the brachiallis in the forearm/upper arm to be relieved of that tension therefore giving more stimulus to the cuff.
I’m 32, and definitely a lifter first and a beer league softball player second, I was pleased to see the positive impact throwing and hitting had on my overhead press and bench press performance. Kinda forgot most athletes lift to improve on the field stuff, not the other way around.
Thank you so much coach! I am working on my arm strength and accuracy. For me, I can track the ball really well and do great as a second baseman. I just know that when my throws gets faster and more accurate It will open up a lot of opportunities.
As a physiotherapist and catcher i can only recommend these. Only thing i'd like to highlight is to not go into too much internal rotation/thumbs down when doing lateral raises especially when hitting around 90° elevation/abduction in your should. Otherwise excellent stuff for stability and intermuscular coordination
I just started watching your videos and I noticed that this video focuses on your arm. I have had problems with arm pain in the elbow and I think you should make a video video on properly healing your arm.
I make all exercises with 15 reps. No breaks between the exercises. I need 9:30 minutes. Thank you a lot for this channel. Greetings from Germany. 😎👍🇪🇺🇩🇪🏳️🌈
What I love about this routine, Justin, is that it incorporates low weights and high reps. Young ballplayers should NOT hit the weight room like Arnold The Terminater. Sure they did that in the late 90's, but that was a chemical thing; obviously something that should especially NEVER be done. Great work, Justin.
I think most ballplayers would be better off doing body weight exercises like body squats, pull-ups, lunges, jumping jacks and fingertip pushups if done properly instead of hitting the weight room. Too many players and coaches don't know how to weight train for baseball players. Squeezing a tennis ball and working forearm, hand and wrist muscles will help.
My arm is weak now, growing up everyone said I had a strong arm, but it might be that I neever train my rotator cuffs except when I play once a week now....hopefully these exercises pump life into my arm
ive heard that empty can exercises can cause shoulder impingement when done over a long period of time. its actually used as a test by PT's to see if patients have rotator cuff tears.
had rotator cuff surgery six months ago and just started throwing (softball). Looking for some exercises that will strengthened the shoulder. I can combine these with some of the band exercises my PT instructor has given me. Thnx.
Hey Justin, I know this was 5 yrs ago, I'm looking to throw harder but I'm working through a shoulder impingement injury right now and was wondering if these drills can help me throw as hard as I used to?
Thanks really good explanation +exercises and have a question this exercise can cure a little pain on my shoulder throwing arm? Hope you can answer me but great video
I have a 8U soon to be 9U player, and I was wondering if this program will work for him? If so, how often will he need to do this program? By the way, I really really appreciate your time & effort you put into this subject. If you're ever in Atlanta area, swing by Bay Creek Park (Grayson, Ga).

I am recovering from rotator cuff surgery. My therapist has me do some of these same things to regain my strength. Thank you, I saved this video!
Coach Justin, this video is very instructive and helped me tremendously with my young players and indoor workouts. THANKS!
So glad to hear that! Thank you so much for watching!

+Braden Hussain Thanks Braden! Appreciate that!
Can you make some indoor videos because in Canada there is a lot of snow in the winter

Coach Justin. Great stuff! How many times a week should my teenager do these exercises? Thanks
Can you make so videos about how to make better contact at the plate and by the way great vid i'll defineatly try it
I’ve used this workout and I’ve seen my arm strength in baseball skyrocket over the last year. Thanks for this great vid
Great video, I do some of these drills using J-Bands, before these tips I had shoulder pain when I through the ball, today I'm fine. I recommend this exercise routine to keep your arm healthy. Thank you, coach Justin, and congratulations on your excellent work you did.
what do you do with bands that's different or in addition to this?
Very effective!
Thanks John!
Thanks man, I really needed this as a baseball newbie
This really does work well! I have upped my weights to 5kgs/11lbs and my velocity and arm durability has all gone up dramatically.
Can you make a video on how to run faster? I am really really slow and I don't know what I should do to run faster.
+Amoghplays Coming soon!
Run more
Do sprints and stay FLEXIBLE
Don’t be fat
Try biking
How does the dumbbell workout compare to the J band workout? Would you alternate the two or choose one?
I think they both help
I’m 90% sure u could do these same workouts without both
Love this workout Coach Justin! Thanks for posting this
You're welcome, Donnie! I'm glad you liked it!
This video was very helpful. I’m not the biggest guy but Im a catcher and I wanted to build my arm strength. I am building my legs as well as doing these and other things and my arm strength has gone through the roof
That's what I like to hear! So glad the video was helpful!
Nice!! My strength and conditioning coach must have watch this video. I've moved up to 10, 12 then 15 lb dumbells when doing these.
Found this recently, after seeing a lot of routines this one hits best!
One of the most helpful videos on RUclips! Thanks man, really got my shoulder burning!
Great video. Great video in just a week add extra pace to my bowling for cricket thx.
Thanks Justin I went to pitching class yesterday and I improved a lot. Thanks for helping me improve

Kinda forgot most athletes lift to improve on the field stuff, not the other way around.
I like the variety in these. I’ve been having a bit of pain upper arm/superspinadus and I am hoping these will help.
Thank you so much coach! I am working on my arm strength and accuracy. For me, I can track the ball really well and do great as a second baseman. I just know that when my throws gets faster and more accurate It will open up a lot of opportunities.
at second you only have to throw it like 20 feet tho
@@ViktorSagan not always
Great Video , I recently dislocated my shoulder free diving and tore my rotator cuff these exercises feel great thanks
I should've seen it earlier. LOVE YOUR VIDEO MAN
it really helps.
How often would you recommend doing this workout? I love the vids, keep it up!
Probably around 69 times a week
Rg Gg yeah I agree I do it about 69-420 times a week
Probably once to twice a day would be sufficient
@@lake2666 once is plenty probably couldn’t keep up a week doing it twice a day😭😭😭
Thanks for the strength videos like this one and the J Bands
Thanks a lot for this.
I need it for improving my throwing in cricket. What would be the ideal weight for the dumbbells?
Well planned & delivered

Every other day i'd recommend, your muscles still need to recover
Every single micromillesecond if time

I make all exercises with 15 reps. No breaks between the exercises. I need 9:30 minutes. Thank you a lot for this channel. Greetings from Germany. 😎👍🇪🇺🇩🇪🏳️🌈
I love the workout Coach Justin
These kind of baseball exercises have helped my injured shoulder a lot.
This is better for pitchers to do on a regular basis than lift heavy, Great video! You taught me some I did not know, thanks
Great drill for kids. How often would you recommend this exercise, Shan?
Just to be safe, I would say every other day and skip days in which there a game and your boy or girl is pitching.
I think most ballplayers would be better off doing body weight exercises like body squats, pull-ups, lunges, jumping jacks and fingertip pushups if done properly instead of hitting the weight room. Too many players and coaches don't know how to weight train for baseball players. Squeezing a tennis ball and working forearm, hand and wrist muscles will help.
it works great thanks
Is this good for quarterbacks as well
Yeah I think I’m using this as a QB baseball and football are similar
Probably but you may want to change some things up because you throw different in football
I'm sure it is
Very late, but it’s a rotator cuff and shoulder excercise,it’ll help build throwing strength in general.
And cricket wicket
Keepers…
Great content
Is it ok to do this workout before or after you pitch?
First, so thank you for providng great video.I have a question. Is it effective then follow video sequence? numbering is just number or procedure?
My arm is weak now, growing up everyone said I had a strong arm, but it might be that I neever train my rotator cuffs except when I play once a week now....hopefully these exercises pump life into my arm
Thank you
Thanks coach

+Hua Yen PAN You're welcome!! Thank you for watching
If I’m 11 and doing these exercises with 3 lbs weights is that good
Good routine man, I think it would help tennis players' serves as well. Cheers!
great exercises for my 9 year old kid just starting baseball to get arm strength, three weeks of it and already seeing results
Awesome!! Happy to hear that!
ive heard that empty can exercises can cause shoulder impingement when done over a long period of time. its actually used as a test by PT's to see if patients have rotator cuff tears.

Could you explain the importance of fast twitch fibers vs type 1 fibers in pitching and maybe do workouts to activate them?
these guys aren’t that advanced to understand or even teach that
Great video! I could have used this 25 years ago.
Thank you so much!
Would you recommend doing these exercises or using j bands? Which one is more effective?which one gives more significant results?
I went out to play baseball and l throw so much harder now I recommend this it is so helpful
