@@wtmayhew "…elegant without affectation…" is a great way to describe the Lucid. It has an elegance that is lacking from many other EVs, while at the same time, not being pretentious. I had a Lucid Air Pure on order for close to two years, but when Hyundai released the Ioniq 6 SE RWD, I jumped ship and bought the Ioniq. I do not regret buying the Ioniq as it is a car that reliably delivers what it is expected to do : long road trips in comfort with incredibly fast charging and excellent efficiency. To boot, it cost just a bit over 1/2 what the Lucid would have cost after Hyundai’s incentives on the car. I do, however, still want a Lucid.
I like the term he uses in speaking about the "benevolent cycle of efficiency" as a philosophy they use in their design. If wish more manufacturers would think about efficiency, as opposed to dropping in bigger packs to achieve their range targets. I find the Aptera interesting from that perspective since they, similar to Lucid, focus considerable time and energy to aero as Lucid has.

The Citroën DS had a concave belly pan to create suction that increased with speed. Consequently its weight INCREASED with speed. The slightly flat front license plate section created an air-dam that then caused a suction into the horizontal radiator air intake immediately which are flanked by air intake ducts for the front inboard disk brakes. Come on Munro go analyze the DS and imagine it now being electric!
    These are not new tricks!
The most creative thing I see is the duct for cooling the LED headlights. No light does not produce heat contrary to much discussion. It a matter of cooling the heat sink rather than the filament. Nice to see this attention to detail. The split of the radiators reminds me of the split turbo intercoolers of the Renault Turbo Fuego.
The power train is a gem and the subsequent efficiency and range. Just waiting to see how it survives!

It’s kind of funny really, there’s quite a bit more that can go wrong with physical elements that require actuation like the folding mirrors than a camera system, and being able to simply fasten the old-school mirrors kept in the trunk if the camera fails for some reason seems like a good alternative, would reduce gas emissions on ICE vehicles and provide additional range on EVs.
