This is track is so simplistic yet feels strangely whole it really perfectly compliments the movie especially the ending shot of Jong-soo driving away. There's an extremely tense feeling as you listen, it can make you feel on edge and suspicious of others. Honestly, I don't I've heard a soundtrack more fitting for the theme and plot of a movie.
This song is stuck in my mind since I saw Burning 4 days ago... For me it's like you're watching a flame and getting hypnotized by its beauty and strange alure... something like the special movie that it compliments. Genius track and choice.
@@KartikeyaDutta it's insane, ben could have been a serial killer, but when you look again he could just be innocent. It's really scary to think that you could just convince yourself because of circumstances. In the end that was all that Jung So had, circumstantial evidence.

The special thing about Mowg's work on 'Burning' is that it distinctly feels out of place but also in place at the same time so when it stops you notice and when it comes on you notice until you realize exactly what it's playing the bass hum of your soul
Burning is a truly sublime film. Sublime in a quietly dark and alluring way. There's something about the film which makes you feel emotions which you usually leave buried deep within you. It's now my 3rd favourite film of all time... The score is absolutely sublime as well and never fails to give me chills!
Truly fantastic movie. First time i watched it I was in the mind set of Ben being a crazed killer, then watching it a second time, it was just the protagonists paranoia. We will never know where the truth is. Masterpiece
@@elchiponr1 Imo it is, but it depends on how you read it. It's called "Barn burning" by H.Murakami. It's very short (about 15 pgs) so I advise you read it.
Brilliant everything writing acting production theme and perhaps even more disturbing and unforgettable is this fantastic score that beats your heart for you. One of best movies. I am so glad it was nominated for an Oscar.
Even though this track is very eerie and unsettling, it is still deeply saddening. Because even if Lee Jong-Su had made the right guess, Shin Hae-Mi is still dead, gone without a trace. And now we would never have any way to find her, what really makes this sad is that her life up until her death was a mess. It was like she was there, and we witnessed her slowly fade away, and then one day she was gone, just like that.
How do you know for sure that she's dead though? The film never explicitly reveals this. That's the genius of Burning. There are so many elements which are left open to interpretation....
And the least real interaction that Jong-Su ever had with Hae-Mi was when he belittles/scolds her for her topless dancing. I think that in that moment all of her trust for Jong-Su just vanished, leaving her then fully broken, with sadly just Ben accompanying her which ultimately led to her disappearance.
I just can't get this film out of my hdead ever since watching it in 2018. Every time there's been some sort of uncanny feeling about an every day occurence, this song pops into my mind...
Even though I didn't think that it was THAT memorable at first... I now find it to be one of the most viciously cerebral movies I've watched in quite some time.
@@elchiponr1 Because of the fire at the end. It’s like a purge of your negative feelings. It’s cathartic. Jong-su kills Ben for killing Hae-mi, and Ben cries after never being able to. Jong-su gives into his Great Hunger. Do you feel the bass?

This is my theory too. Although I don't think Ben is entirely"innocent". I think he plays a role in girls' suicides. I think he nudges them in a direction then lets nature handle the rest. That's why he asks where Hae-Mi is at the last scene. He genuinely thinks maybe she decided not to kill herself after all

@@windowsmizu416 oh yeah it's one of my favorite films exactly because of that. There are plenty of films with unanswered questions, but I've never watched one that so deliberately and poetically relays to you that those unanswered questions are the point. It puts you in the shoes of the protagonist having to make your own answers out of the incomplete information you've been given, and you just have to accept whatever interpretation makes the most sense to you and live with the consequences of that decision, much like Jong-Su will never know for sure if Ben actually killed Hae-Mi or was responsible for her death at all. In fact, he's not even sure she's dead. She could've just disappeared. But he's put in a position where in order to subdue this conflict within him, he has to come up with an explanation and decide how he's going to act on that explanation, and whether he made the right decision or not, he'll never know, and he's just gonna have to go with it. It's awesome, and I find it incredibly poetic in a very unique way I've never quite experienced out of a movie before
