I enjoyed the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade over my time. But I can tell you watching the parade and all these years basically kind of gives you a sense of what Macy's had to go through for all these years. But the bottom line is though I am glad to see that Macy's is finally getting back to normal. But, I think there is still something in all of us that realizes hey this is what Thanksgiving is for. The Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade brings us all together to really celebrate the occasion to give thanks and to pray to our Lord Jesus Christ for what he gave us. And now after 95 years of work. It's now come to this. And I'm glad to see that now CBS and NBC are still going to do what they're going to do broadcast to Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in harmony. But what is going to be so nice about it is that it brings out the spirit in all of us. And that is why I had watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade since my birth in 1958 although some of it I didn't know back then between 58 and 65. But I can tell you this much right now we're going to see a lot more of this stuff. And by the way that's one of the reasons why the day after Thanksgiving is black friday. And that's why I love Black Friday because I can go out and go shop and do whatever I want! And the thrill of it is just to see all these people do what they want to do. And that is why we as a society need to rejoice in what we have for thanksgiving.

The very first broadcast of The NYC Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade..was on Thursday November 26,1959..the telecast also showed scenes from The Gimbell's Parade in Philly,Pa.,The J.L.Hudson Parade in Detroit,Mi. and The Eaton's Santa Claus Parade(which was pre-taped in advance)in Toronto,Canada.."Captain Kangaroo"(Bob Keeshan),"Mr.Green Jeans"(Hugh Branum) and"Mr.Moose & Bunny Rabbit"(Gus Cosmo Alligretti's puppets)hosted the parade telecasts..until..November,1965.
Gimbals in Philadelphia pioneered the Parade with Santa 5 years before. 100 old years this year.
