Lighting Doctor after all thanks for all the info in your videos and thanks for helping the DIY community, today installed a 286 long feet line with 5, 12 watts fixture (bight property), it has been grate DIY project, for future reference where can I print the 12 gauge cable voltage drop matrix chart? yes the one you used in this video!
thank you for great video. just one question. I purchased bunch of lights from home depot and lowes and they came with connector which punctures tiny probe into my 12/2 line and thats how they get power. are these connections safe to be buried underground? or do they need to be sticking out. they do not look very water resistant and I see that you are cutting and using yellow connectors that snaps. let me know if you have good advice. thank you for the help.
I have 6 120v lamp post lights that I want to convert to a low voltage using a low voltage landscaping 14-2 wire to a Dewenwils 300W low voltage transformer. The wires on the post lamp fixtures are black and white, and the low voltage landscaping wire is both black at split. It does not light up when connecting the low voltage landscaping wire to the lamp post wires. Is it because the wires are different? Is it possible for it to convert or work ? If not, is there a way that I can get it to work? Thanks
Hello. I am setting up 110 watts worth of lights on a 200w transformer using 12g cable I’ve split the lines to the lights in 3 so that each line carries about 40w. Does it matter if I use the 12v or 15v tap on the transformer? Thank you.
The 12 volt tap will be fine for that load of lights but if using LEDs its worth using the 15 volt tap and it wont burn out the bulbs and allow for expansion at a later date also...
Thanks for this clear and informative video -- you answered so many of my questions in just 10 mins! :-)

If you email me at Cal@LightingDoctor.ca I can provide that chart for you
Just purchased a FX DX luminaire 300w transformer. Surprised that there are 4 wiring connections but only ONE common? Have you seen this before?

How do you terminate the wire? The two halves mustn't touch, right?
Yeah… the water in the background is washing out your voice. Those of us with hearing issues find this difficult.
Can't hear with all that noise
