What a perfect way to end the trail adventure! It's amazing to see the tramily sticking together and meeting up with old and new friends. The bonds you've formed are truly inspiring-thanks for sharing this special part of your journey!
Hi Gadget, I know you are and should be extremely proud of your accomplishment. I have enjoyed following your journey so much. Best of luck in whatever you have planned next. Be safe and happy hiking❤
Gadget, your life has changed, and it will never be the same again. You will look at everything in a different light and when you are all excited trying to explain what your hike was like and what it was like being out there, just smile, be polite and when you are done, sit down and call a trail friend just to talk to them. Don't let your frustrations get to you because your family and friends at home just won't get it! If you hike again, I will follow you. I may see you at Trail Days but if I don't I hope you have a wonderful life and realize that it is better because of what you just accomplished. geek

The journey of a lifetime - it will always be with you, it cannot be denied and it cannot ever be taken away. "We do not remember days - we remember moments."(Cesare Pavese). Be well, stay safe. I'd like to leave you with a phrase taken from the ancient Algonquian language of the Western Abenaki American Indians of northeaster New York, Northern New Hampshire and northern Vermont. It is a language that you most probably have never heard spoken and very likely never will. The phrase is 'Wli Bamkanni,' and while there is no literal translation, the general meaning is 'travel well.' It is pronounced oo-LEE bomb-kahn-EE, and refers to all your travels, not only over land and sea, but in your life's journey, as well. So, with that, I wish to end your epic A.T. adventure with those words: Wli Bamkanni, Gadget... 🥾
Well that was fun, but take it from someone who swam in the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico before ever stepping into the Pacific Ocean....that Alaska Current is a monster. God was it cold...of course that was up in Crescent City but still even down in Santa Cruz the water temp still stinks. Looking forward to what come next, although I think it will be a little melancholy with the fun.
Thank you for taking all of us along on your journey.
