Maggie and Val's response to the question is spot on. Fact is Australian soaps had featured gay characters and gay couples starting 1972. When Prisoner came along no one in Australia really batted an eyelid. The UK were a long way behind in this and in the UK the show had a reputation for being cult/gay cult/lesbian cult.
The presenter is Linda Mitchell. I believe this clip was part of BBC Wales's coverage of Garden Festival Wales, which took place in Ebbw Vale between May and October 1992.
