You may recognize this product from shark tank. I missed the episode with this, but this ended up being an accidental "facebook made me buy it!" I saw it and I was instantly hooked. These are rollers for heatless curls, and I loved the idea so I decided to try it and review! Let me know what crazy product I should review next!

Because they're soft, sleeping on them will crush the foam cylinders. if you lie in one spot for a long time it will cause the actual curlers to flatten and the hair to dry in the shape. that's probably what giving you the most kinks it's also why I don't normally trust sleep in stylers
Your blonde shade is so nice on you!
This is the first time I've seen you frustrated and I've been watching a long time. Kinda refreshing to see. Haha. You're human!! Thank you for the honest review. I can't wait to see more.
🙈🙈🙈 I'm trying to be myself on camera more often. 😂😀
It was too wet, needs to be more dry
Iria Monge true
Jennifer Borrero that’s not true. It even says on the package. DAMP not WET hair.
Iria Monge yeah, what you said. I agree
girl, you are absolutely right.
Iria Monge yes definitely
Oh my gosh, you make me feel so HUMAN!!! I've watched a ton of tutorials with this thing and tried it for myself, and it turned out like your first one. I'm sure it's great when you can get it right but I really appreciate you being so honest and like a normal person! Thank you!!
Will you give this product a second try? I've seen so many girls end up with GORGEOUS curls after using this product. Will you try it with dry hair and SLIGHTLY dampen it?
Allison Nutt She did do a second try. It’s literally in the fucking video. Her hair is also a lot drier the second time.
i would love to see a video on how you style your hair for days that your heartless curls don't work out!
I really like three videos a week :). Oh and BTW, is there any way you could maybe do a tutorial for darker hair, because braids never seem to show up when I try them, thanks! :)
I understand if this wouldn't work since you have blonde hair, but I just wanted to make a suggestion
I don't know if it could help you but Dominokathi (a german RUclipsr) uploaded some time ago a Video to show the difference of Hairstyles on blonde and brown hair- it might help you 😊
OK, thanks i'll try it out :)
Yess, hairstyles w/ a darker wig would be amazing
shelby sloan yes, I know, I've been here for pretty long, but I was early today so I thought I would try asking in the hopes that she would see it
"it has memory foam, I mean it is no temper-pedic" hahahaha love you kayley
I have a challenge for you Kayley! I love curling my hair and my hair holds curls really well; unfortunately, when I'm not out and about I like tying my hair up. But this ruins my curls and puts weird kinks in my hair...could you do a video about ways to tie up and keep hair out of the face without ruining curls? Love ya ❤️
Sebarinify Hair clips instead of hair ties!
You could use scrunchies
I bought the short ones since my hair is fine and hard to curl. I slept in them overnight and got a little curl but then it slid out within 20 minutes or so. I am going to try again but it does take WAY more work than they advertise. Thank you for this video to let me know it is not just me lol
Amy VanGundy it's not just you
I tried 3 times and my hair can hold a curl (flat iron, braids, curling wand etc)
Return while you still can!
This is a really old video, but in case anyone else has just stumbled across this; a very good trick when applying any sort of wet-set roller or curler, when you want a looser wave result like this, is to wait til your hair is at least 80% dry...but then *apply an air-dry cream* to each section, right as you're about to curl it, and that will help it dry better in the parts that have less surface area and so see less air. It will also help to very softly set the result.
If you don't have access to an air-dry product, then instead wait until your hair is *90%* dry before you wrap it. Incomplete drying is the enemy of all wet-sets, whether tight on flex-rods for coily curls, or super-loose on these fat, pillowy things. So if you want to be really, super, extra sure that your hair will be dry by morning, then as well as not rolling it too damp, also don't wait until bedtime to put these in; instead, apply them right after dinner, so they have the extra few hours leadtime even before bed for your hair to begin the drying process.
In "the old days" they used to use long pieces of cloth the same way... called "rags" and putting rags in my hair was my favourite!
Yeah i'm a teenager and I still use that method. My family called them rag rollers
i would lovee to see you try them again with your hair damp instead of wet! so i could see if it worked better
I was watching several other reviews in comparison to yours so i can see if you were doing anything different from them, and i noticed that maybe the way the hair is wrapped onto the roller plays a part on the kinkiness of the results. I noticed in other reviews that when the hair was wrapped flat against the roller similar to the way you did their result turned out a lot more kinkier. but in other reviews i noticed that when the hair is twisted as you wrap it around the roller (as you would do to get waves much less curls on a regular barrel) they get much better results. I'm not 100% on this but i hope with will help you in you future attempts with this product. Nonetheless this was still a great review.
I use these every week and i get perfect results and yes, i think you're right, i do twist my hair a bit while i roll it.
What works for me is to actually start with dry hair and add a 1-2 sprits of water for each piece from a spray bottle just so it's slightly damp. Then I hold the hair tight as I wrap it around so it spirals around instead of laying flat on the curler.
When every hair channel show you how to do heatless curls and i want to do heatless straightening because my hair is wavy and i would really appreciate if i can have straight hair without a flat iron
Love you Kayley ❤
I'm so sorry but this comment section is just rude. You tried this product two (!) times for everyone who doesn't want to spend the money on it. And 95% of the people are telling you what you have supposedly done wrong. I'm pretty sure a lot of those 'helpful' people out ther never tried this product at all. And even if it worked for them, doesn't mean it has to work for you too. And for everyone who said her hair was to wet: Did you actually watch the whole video? She tried it the second time with almost completely dry hair and it still didn't work. Every hair is different!
They work for me! Bummer they didn't work for you! They aren't the most comfortable to sleep on (unless you're a back sleeper) but otherwise really like mine
That's good for you! I noticed that the people that got good results seem to have more hair or thicker hair than mine. Perhaps my fine hair just kinks up too easily.
Kayley Melissa thats what I thought ! Ugh more fine hair struggles
Kayley Melissa aw makes sense! Your hair looks flawless no matter what tho!!
Please do a redo and try twisting the hair instead laying it flat. I really want to know if that'll work nicer!
I usually just use flexi rods and my curls never have weird kinks in them. Also I never do it with wet hair because it never dries. I always use dry hair and use a hair oil so that my hair doesn't get frizzy and my curls turn out amazing.
You seemed so optimistic and then your heart sank as you went on. Aww.
My favorite heatless curling method is simply wrapping my hair around a headband. Super comfy and great big curls the next morning.
Your smile after you said "somehow got shocked by lightning" is pure sunshine.
Because its memory foam the kinks will definitely happen when putting pressure on them. Its not supporting the curl so sleeping will not work.
I LOVED the "buenos días" thank you. This Mexican follower appreciates some ESPAÑOL
Maybe you should do this with dry hair, but as in really dry hair. It's just an idea. Nice video btw! :)
OMAGAD the grab-all-your-skin-cells microfiber makes me cringe so much right now! My god I'm dying of laughter :'D
I keep saying this but I am SO happy to see you here several times a week! I feel like I'm back in college binging on Kayley Hair Vids. Yay!
i think the problem was that when u slept on it, the rods flattened and made those bends in ur hair i'm pretty sure; which might be why it looked better the second time since u didn't sleep on them..
I haven't watched a video of you in a while and I have to say, you look so much more comfortable and happy and open and I just love it! Keep it going!
You should do the Octavia Blake braided hairstyle from The 100.
This video is good. You really put time and effort into making a good test out of this product and give your honest opinion and I appreciate that.
Also your spanish pronunciation is really neat, congrats :)
Love the 3 videos a week. I like seeing your face 😘oh and the videos are great too!
Gurl! You tried it twice?.. Love your review and wish I could give you a hug!!
Did anyone else think of dashboard confessional when said vindicated? Anybody?
I did! Started singing that song in my head. That's definitely a word that I don't hear used very often.
I always have this problem whenever I try heatless curls/waves no matter what I use... It's really promissing when you put them in, uncomfortable sleeping and then when you are ready to get them out it looks like you've been ran over with a bus or something like that😒 I stopped trying.. It frustrated me to much🙈 nice to see that even your hair doesn't always work the way you want because you're always beautiful and have perfect hair! Love your videos! ❤️ much love from Holland
Can you do a video on sport hairstyles with wavy/curly hair please?! P.S I love your videos soooooo much and I love the idea of Monday videos too please continue them!!!💕
I reallyyyyyy love that you upload so much !! ( and the videos are also very helpful and good!)
Could you do more videos on heartless curls? That would be awesome!
Your hair seems way to wet for these to work! The hair needs to be about 80-90% dry so that they'll work..
I bought two sets and that helped MAJORLY with the drying problems. And the curls stay much better having been dried in smaller pieces
Omg I'm loving that bright orangey red lip color ! You have to tell me what it is!
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lip in A Go Go! She also has the shade "Halo" in her studded lipstick which is a similar color, but a "normal" Lipstick.
I really like your videos really helped me save money and what works and doesnt!
45 seconds into this video and im screaming thru my laptop that ur hair needs to be dryyy before u roll these in!!
Princess Leigh-Cheri it says on the package after a shower let your hair dry about 80%
Thank you!! I saw these on shark tank and ordered immediately and waited patiently. I tried them 3 times and all times it was AWFUL
I got an immediate refund!
I thought it was only because my hair was only a few inches past shoulder length but you've proven it's just a crap product in general! Thanks for always providing great honest reviews!
Ooooh hoo hoo, I see what you did there. Very clever for putting an ad right before the second curl reveal lol
Rage Kayley! More of her, you're hilarious!
Watch Lindsey Rose's Sleep Styler video, and you can see how you're supposed to twist your hair while wrapping it around the product. My hair gets curly even when using the foam curler.
I LOVE THESE! I have been using them for a few months now and they are great I would try again with your hair drier like 80-90 percent dry.
The "t-shirt crown" curls work waaaay better and give you better loose waves, so I'd save your money!!!
It might've been the kind of rollers you used. I use two different kinds of rollers and they work perfectly (I might add that my hair is rediculously thick, yet it dries overnight)
Your hair has to be like almost completely dry and it willl work!
And if you try to place the roller more horizontaly would that allow you to avoid the kinky effect?
I can't imagine this would work for me. My hair is never dry in the morning with any curling method. I have to sit under a bonnet dryer for an extra 20 minutes. Defeats the purpose, right?
You tried really hard to give us an honest review. Giving you a TU.
I firmly believe you would have better results if;
1) You did this on 90% dry hair
2) You wrapped it more uniformly which wouldn't give you those "kinks"
3) You didn't use bobby pins which is not helping your kink situation.
I'm loving the number of videos you're doing! This is really great. :)
I would love a video on halo hair extensions. I know you use the clip in ones but I'm really want to make an informed decision before I spend the money. Love your videos!!!!
It is user friendly and it works ! you just need to read the instructions.... hair must be more dry...
Oh no, I'm so sorry they didn't come out the way you wanted! I love my Sleep Stylers so much, I've made like 5 videos on how I use them... but honestly I think you rolled them properly. I tend to blow dry my roots before I put them in...
I wished I saw this tutorial.before I bought the curlers. But I did get my money back. So, that's good. Thanks! ~Anastacia in Cleveland
I hope you give this product another chance because it seemed like you used it on hair that's too wet, just like others have said in the comment section. For heatless curlers to work it has to be only damp or almost dry hair.
Check out whatwouldlizzydo video! Her curls came out looking great!!
I use these but I use them after my blowdryer. I then warm the curls just a bit then let them cool completely and the curls always look great
I'm seeing all these comments saying she was doing it all wrong, and I'm just here thinking: aren't these supposed to make curling more convenient? If you need to have a "magic touch" to even use the product then it's no good to me.
I got these a few weeks ago. Take some time getting used to. They really do work. Hold the roller at the root , and wind hair up and around.
I would try again with hair that is 85% dry. trust me, it works. It leaves my hair shiny as heck and so nice!
Hi Kaylee!
A friend of mine asked me to do her hair for her wedding, and I was wondering if you had any tips for me? Perhaps some must have products or tricks that will help the do hold throughout the day.. just any tips about wedding hair would be much appreciated!
Been watching your videos for a while now and I always enjoy them, so thank you!:)
I loVe these and they work amazing! But you can't do that much wetness, it's more of just a small amount of wetness, it's supposed to be like 80% dry so maybe try this with less wet hair and I think you'll get the results that a lot of people get
I was so upset with this product my whole head looked like the bad pieces that you had but worse I looked like a mushroom so I feel you. Lol. I have naturally easy to fix hair and followed directions.
My hair is long and I used the 3 inch rollers. The hair near the scalp was nearly dry and I lightly sprayed from the ear area to the ends. My hair was all the way dry after 9 hours. I used a stretchy scarf to hold it all in place while I slept and had no problem staying asleep and I was pretty happy with the VOLUME with "some" curl that didn't last since maybe I need to use some kind of product to hold the curl. I ordered Sabastian Super Shaper Plus hairspray picking it up on Wednesday and that could help. I'm still thrilled with the VOLUME of my icky bland straight hair and it did give me shine.
I have a buzz cut atm but I have just tanked so many of your vids cus you are so lovely to watch
I just tried the smaller royal blue ones last night, and I'd describe the feeling of sleeping on these as having a lumpy pillow. But the curls worked and are still curled it's now 6:37PM.
I was just about to but this Saturday oh my gosh you're the best!
Thannk you for helping me to not waste my time or money on tbese. I still do not have enough strength in my body to put that much time on get long lasting waves.
I love that lip for the beginning of the video! Also kinda sad it didn't work out for you cuz I can't curl my hair anyway and I really wanted it to work so I could use it! 😬😆
I tried these too but I really couldn't sleep through the night with them! I ended up taking them out in the middle of the night so I could sleep! 😩
Wow! you are dedicated! I would have stopped after one. Just looking at in your hair I could not imagine having to sleep with these on my head, and then to have no pay off. Still don't think, even if your hair looked amazing that I would put this much work into a curl. Thanks for your vids (3 is great) loads of time and feedback.
I love your reviews like this
Thanks for the video! Don't think I will be purchasing. Thanks for saving me money!
It has to be the strap crossing over the hair, I can't see how it wouldn't cause kinks.
I think your hair donut t-shirt sleep style you did works better than this and only requires a t-shirt! Lol. If I'm going to sleep with something in my hair, I'd rather do that. Thanks for the review so I know not to purchase!
Thanks! I have been thinking about purchasing this product. This helped me save my money!
Uh yeah... I don't think I'm trying it anytime soon. I doubt it'd work with my naturally curly hair anyway. I'll stick with a curling iron or actual rollers, they tend to get better results for when I want large curls instead of my small ringlets
When you first put the rollers in somehow you looked like Princess Leia lol and when you were demonstrating the roller and removed the Velcro- I flinched I didn't expect that noise lol xx
i would like to see it with completely dry hair and with hair that is dry but with like one spritz of water before putting them on.. and twist the hair and wrap it around..maybe it will help
if your hair was still too wet in the morning, you can use hair dryer (while the rolls are on)to help them dry well
I have the hair bender things. I have to have not super wet hair (like dry hair and spray with water level) which personally I think misses the point of no heat curlers need for simplicity. But I do have to say they give me the best curls
I've had my eye on these since they came out on shark Tank. I'm so sad they didn't work! Thank you for the honest review.
So sad this didn't work
Me too! I was so excited about them!!
Kayley Melissa hi
Kayley Melissa hello, i just saw a firts test in other video and they turned very pretty BUT the girl said she had second day hair and she just spraid a little water on her hair..she also had them below her jaw and she rolled the hair on it's self (as you do when you do a rope braid) as she rolled it on the roller...maybe she practiced first but it worked..she had thick hair also maybe that helped..i know you're the expert but i hate it when i can't work something and just wanted to help, i hope i did. :-)
Gema T - i think we saw the same vid, lol. I dont remember her name but was a real pretty blonde souther gal. Her hair came out SO freaking adorable!
No Name Given Lindsey Rose is her name. They came out so good!
Really tempted to try this
Hey Kayley! Love your videos! 😘😄 Btw maybe the kinks were from the fabric straps? I'm not sure if you said anything about that or not. 😝
Did you see Lindsey Rose's video on these? She didn't lay the hair flat on the roller, so maybe that would make it work better for you? It you do get these to work I would love to see you try them on shorter (just a tad longer than shoulder length) hair.
I have really straight, fine hair that won't stay curled from heat for more than an hour, but I absolutely swear by the method of putting mousse on dry hair and sleeping with clip in rollers over night. It makes my hair stay curled for nearly a whole day which is a huge deal if you're a super straight sally like I am.
had the exact same experience. But like you i'm giving it a 2nd chance today in case it was user error.
I tried it myself, looked decent but fell out very fast, and very uncomfortable to sleep in
I have to tell you! When I see that video is 13min long I was like 'whaaaat'... I end up watching this video and 100 more! :) :) :)
i used to have long hair. im asian mind you, but it was down all the way down my back at points lol. after a shower, i would put my hair in a ponytail, THEN put my hair in a bandanna, then go to sleep. during the night, the bandanna would fall off. my hair would always be shiny and smooth. (you have to figure out how often you need to shampoo and condition, everyone is different also.) if i was walking around the house after a shower, i would leave towel on my back and let the hair dry long for 20 minutes or so.
Kinking is caused by the bands that wrap around everything. It cuts into the hair.
