Im gonna say goff is almost elite. His play action play and fakes are by far some of the best in the league. His arm strength is under rated as he can heeve the ball at least half the field. Just look at the td pass to jamo last week. I also think his mobility is under rated. He has shown he will run and take those yards if they are there. But ihe is a pocket passer so the sack is more likely. His ball placement isn't quite the best but he hits that "catchable ball" window more than not. Just look at the jamo td pass last week.

One of the most positive things about this season is that Stafford is not completely cooked. He’s roughly back to 2021 form with a worse offensive line.
He's playing to that level, but they're running the ball in so his td-int numbers look skewed af.

I think Tua has proven he needs to be higher at this point. Yes he has elite weapons and a good system. But a good QB is part of a good system. It is reliant on Tua's processing both pre and post snap and his lightning fast release to work. Oh and despite the narratives, hes been one of the most effective deep ball throwers in the league over the last two years. Reminder that people called Tom Brady a system qb for years. Another reminder: Mahomes also has a top offensive system, one of the best tight ends of all time, and had the same elite WR1 as Tua during his early progression.
Tua, kirk and stafford all have good cases for almost elite in my opinion

After this full NFL season, I'd love to see your opinions on where the quarterbacks currently sit. Jordan Love, Brock Purdy (maybe), and CJ Stroud all have reasons to go higher, and players like Trevor Lawrence could probably go a bit lower. I'd also love to know where you'd stick Minshew and Flacco after this interesting backup season.

Love you Bran! But I gotta say placing Brock in that category because hes in a great system in San Fran that has weapons and then placing Jalen in Elite when he had one great year in a great system with great weapons is a bit strange 🤔.
I think that Jalen's skillset would play better on other teams. Brock would be pretty suspect on a team like, say, the Steelers.

Jalen… has one great season with a stacked team and a lot of mediocrity outside of that season. At best he belongs in the high upside but I don’t know yet tier. The fact that he gets worshipped as Elite despite all the advantages that Brock has is a joke. He’d be worse than Fields in Chicago.
We have seen more of Jalen though and I personally think his highs have been higher than Brock's. Purdy has exceeded expectations much more but his were also much lower.

anyone who has watched a panthers game this year knows that Bryce Young is not the problem, he gets about 2 seconds to throw a pass and he has no weapons other than Adam Theilan and some up and down play from Chuba Hubbard

I can't believe I'm saying this... But is Zach a little underrated? Idk I think the coaching situation in his first 2 years is really under the radar in how bad it was, and he's finally actually developing kinda. Idk I feel like he may be that "high upside but TBD area with not-Matt LaFleur

It's funny. Even though Eli has more rings and beat Brady twice in the Superbowl, I don't know many people who consider Eli elite.

The Tua placement bugs me cause for the last two years his play has been better than Stafford, Lawrence, Lamar, Herbert. He should at least be a tier higher. We seem other QBs in Miami's system and literally Nobody has been this good

Tua was a little low and I also feel Zach wilson was a little low (given he does suck, but he can improve with some help) but good list overall!

Kirk's 4th and 8 last year had no good options. Yeah, the correct choice was to hope JJettas can make a miracle play, but he was mega covered. The season was probably over at that play before the ball was snapped.

I basically nodded along to everything you said and went WTF at Tua. He produced consistently and on a high level before his injury and he is doing so again. He only got held back by said injury last season. I wouldn't put him in elite because the argument that he has great weapons is valid, but he is almost elite for sure, and imo he is above Rodgers.

As a patriots fan, I denied the fact that Tua was a great QB all of last year, but after seeing what he’s done so far with the dolphins this year as well as letting his last season sit, I cannot deny that this guy is elite. He’s on pace to have an MVP season while leading nearly every QB stat.
I think you're wrong about Dak not where you ranked him but rather that he hasn't been the same since his ankle. Before that he constantly overthrew or threw behind receivers, since then he hasn't been any more accurate. I also get the impression sometimes that he can't read defenses. He's a warrior and gets the most out of his limited ability, but yeah at 40M a year, no thanks.

If you’re gonna ignore Burrow having mistakes with a calf injury then you gotta ignore Allen having more mistakes after partially tearing his UCL last year and playing through it. Plus a UCL injury to a QB is way worse and Allen still put up fairly decent numbers compared to Burrow after his injury

There's a reason the Packers haven't given him shots earlier, and he didn't ever play elite this year... He played the Bears. And even then underthrew and overthrew 90% of his throws.

Great tier list! You sold me with the Herbert placement, I don’t think he generally gets enough credit.
My biggest gripe is the Dak Prescott placement, I think “You’re Not Upset” would’ve been better for the time this video was released. That might be because of my Chicago Bears QB goggles and recency bias.
Again, great list. I would watch another updated list at the end of the season with all QBs that started at least one game. The Joe Flacco tier will replace the Patrick Mahomes tier!

I can agree with most of this list but putting Dak and even sorta Baker and Russ on the same level of Mac Jones and Daniel is crazy.

I don’t think you’re giving Goff quite enough credit. He’s was inconsistent with the Rams, but for the past couple of years it has really felt like he has been knocking on the door to the elite tier. He’s not flashy, but he also doesn’t really make mistakes.
I think you could have gotten more use out of the Almost Elite tier in general. Tua and Stafford also feel like they belong there, especially Stafford.
One of my few good calls was saying that Mac Jones was going to struggle to improve on his rookie season. The problem was he didn’t have any obvious flaws, his completion percentage was outstanding and had very respectable yards per attempt. You’d think that’d be a good thing, but I read that more as there weren’t any areas were obvious improvement could be made and to get substantially better, he’d have to completely reinvent his game. Instead, he got saddled with defensive coordinators as his offensive coaches and I think he started to press a bit. I agree that in a better situation he could be at least decent but his predraft assessments ended up being mostly right on, high floor, low ceiling. It’s just that the floor around him has collapsed.

I may not like Stafford (He shredded my favorites team’s suspect defense for most of his career (I’m a Packers Fan)), but He’s elite. He has to be.
Did not see the Chad Henne pick based on his Subway commercials. But it makes sense that he's ranked ahead of Danial Jones. We've seen more of Chad on Sundays than the Giant's offense.
Putting burrow over Josh is a bold move. He’s proven this year next to Kyler Murray he is Jamies Winston level
So, in retrospect, would you change your opinion of Purdy? He set some records last in efficiency and lead the league in yards per pass and even air yards per pass. System aside, nobody else was able to do what he does in that system. Also, if that system is such easy mode, why doesn't every team use it?
the Dak slander is insane, and I'm a Steelers fan. But even I can admit that putting him in a tier with Daniel Jones, Kenny Pickett, and Mac Jones is nuts.
Hey you know love the content I do believe Purdy was born into a goated team with amazing talent but the way he can perform under pressure, for the time being makes me hopeful for his career
Mahomes has also a pretty good team. So considering that he should not have his own category when you put Tua so low cause of his good team

As a Broncos fan, I think that either Sean Payton will get more out of Russell Wilson, or they’re going to cut him and draft a quarterback. What I think they need to do is upgrade the offensive line and figure out how to get Marvin Harrison Jr. Trade your 2025 first round pick along with whatever top 10 pick you get this year to move up to number two. Obviously I’m assuming that they don’t have some kind of crazy turnaround this year.
