I find it really relateable to have frustration after a game of league, as Im pretty sure, most of us do. Also the gamestate has been really taking a toll on all of us (and Faker probably) as well with the current game being so much more snowball heavy and full of one-shots which makes me believe there is just too much room for frustration. AfaIk T1's Season hasn't been that successfull as well (for their standards). Im just hoping Faker can find somebody/something to remind him of what it means to be happy and satisfied. A break maybe would help more than it'd hurt too, as many of you pointed out. Stay safe guys
Excellence has been expected from Faker almost since the start of his career, he basically isn't allowed any mistakes. The pressure is so high, I can tell how hard it must be.
Seeing the person I idolised for over a decade be so frustrated at himself, that he is purposely harming himself makes me want to cry. Give my man a fucking hug and maybe a deserved break. Props to Guma for stepping in so quickly. Can't imagine what pressure our goat is under when he is the literal face of LoL e-sports.
I remember Faker saying that the person he wanted to impress the most is himself or somewhere along that line, and this performance that he had against geng must've hurt an awful lot.
it's good to see that Faker has the same passion for the game that he always had on one hand, but now seriously talking, Faker and the other members of T1 needs a big break after Worlds, they seemed really stressed this whole season, and now it's hearthbreaking to see Faker banging his head and blaming himself of the loss, Faker who is the oldest member and that probably responsibilizes himself of everything wrong that happens in the games saw what happened when he took a break bc of his injury, his whole team fell apart, and now that he is underperforming a bit probably thinks himself as a dead weight that cannot keep up the standard of being the team leader. They're probably my all time favorite roster of a pro-team, glad that Guma stopped Faker from keep banging his head and glad that the T1 management said that they will take care of Faker's mental state, i really hope that they can recover and do well at Worlds.
It is more of a form thing. He probably feel like he is letting his team down with his current performance. I'm pointing this out cause some troll are going to start spamming geng broke faker etc.
But the thing is, he didn't even play bad. He played pretty well ,up to the point when he got caught those two time as the most fed player on the team. Once at top without flash and the other time where he valk towards the enemy team at mid. He knows he fked up hard especially when they were so close to beating GengG.
I can't believe he still cares so much after all these years, his dedication to improvement is something you can only admire. He has nothing left to prove, yet he still carries the majority of the League of Legends esports scene on his back.
Because of you T1 rabid riders that faker becomes like that, lmao imagine him being expected to be good all the time? Time to let him rest, 2023 is the last gift that faker gave to the world... and now he has to pass it to chovy Chovy the new goat

But Gumayusi is a realass friend. Instead of letting Faker have a meltdown for views, Gumayusi rushes in and holds his friend. Gumayusi is a beast, and I hope Faker gets better.
those DDOS Attacks were a huge factor, also the rivalry and the pressure since people expect excellence when it comes to T1, all the more with Faker. Wishing for him to overcome all of this and be healthier in all aspects of his life. There is no shame in retiring after reigning for a decade as the League's Greatest of all time if he finally decides to.

I've got a friend who used to have a small pro carrear in a fps game, he started a bit older and he ended a bit early because he felt he was getting slower and slower compared to younger players. Now Faker is getting much older than any other world players, if he starts feeling like he's losing because of his physical abilities and reflexes decline it must take a heavy toll on his morale. I hope he got as much support as he deserves

because he is so willing to keep delivering and push himself/t1 for success, i don't think he even has the slightest thought of retiring... although he's the one that deserved it the most by far, but because of his passion for the game and the sport and also the fact that if he leaves... t1 will fall apart... such a hard position he has to hold...
Imagine working a 60 hour a week job for 11 years and then add the pressure of everyone expecting to literally win everything you've ever done and at least if you lose, you can't be the source.
Exactly. The pressure on him must be ungodly since he is considered the best player of all times. It's so sad to see someone I always look up to, my idol hurting himself like that. I'm almost crying. Hopefully, he takes a break and gets rest, if someone deserves it it's him
Nahhh i completely understand his crash out. He’s the face of his team and basically the face of the game we all have bad games. I hope he’s ok and didn’t hurt himself to bad.
For most people this reaction would be unnotmal. But as a person who lives in the east and knows how parents and culture is in east usually kids learn to be self punisher and think if something happens it is all they mistake. I really understand faker for sure if I were as where he is I would hit my head harder .
We also can't forget that T1 has been uniquely DDOS attacked whenever they were practicing, and I think the DDOS attacks are still going on. Not being able to practice effectively combined with a rough season and having to shoulder the weight of expectation and being the captain of one of the most prolific esports teams in the word for over a decade is a LOT of pressure. I hope he gets the rest he deserves, he will always be the GOAT.
The passion is overwhelming but hopefully he takes some time off to prepare his mind. I can already see the T1 haters and streamers like Dom twisting this into "T1 fans and their toxicity bring T1 to doom" and all that bs. Already saw so many people in his stream the other day laughing their ass off and even some talking shit about LCK as a whole. Sucks that there's people out there who genuinely think hating is better than an overzealous fanbases. I don't want to point out an entire community but please keep your nationalism and patriotism in check.

That slump different was from the ones before he needed counselling and it took awhile to return to form This incident hits differently especially that now he's older (the face of T1 and also a stakeholder) with younger players looking up to him... Its so out of place for faker to do what he did in a live event. Kkoma and the coaching staff late reactions just shows how everyone wasnt expecting it. Props to Guma he reacted quickly restraining him, the lad's performance and strength of character within the team is needed badly with Faker struggling. On a side note I hope he opens up about his struggle whether or not teammates or friends understand. Perhaps calling Tyler1 might not be a bad idea.
Im a Gen.G and Chovy fan and I speak for every one of us [everyone whos sane and has morals] that this isnt what we like to see. Theres just too much pressure on him, if they win everyone leaves it bcs "theyre T1 so its normal" but if they dont "faker is washed and should retire". This man was on top of this game for over 11 years, he deserves his respect and a well earned rest. I hope hes ok and that T1 will bounce back stronger
Unlike EU. Korea is figuring out how T1 works. And with them making many mistakes and having a much more poor win loss record this year compared to last summer. It’s significant. Last year T1 was lost without faker. But this year their is no excuse… it is worrisome heading into playoffs. Cause if HLE and GEN makes finals. When Seong K said this in the HoL documentary, I truly realized the weights of responsibility Faker has on his shoulder. He's been there since the start; the most iconic player/veteran of all time who's well known for being mentally resilient. When his teammates are upset he's there to cheer them up because he has been there before. So when seeing him at a such vulnerable state, the fans can't help but sympathize for him. He's going too hard on himself because he doesn't want to disappoint his fans, and perhaps himself. I hope he'll be able to some proper help because prioritizing mental and spiritual health is much more important

He cares very deeply about his teammates. He doesn't want to let them down, as he's a father figure to them, alongside being the GOAT of League. Who knows what crosses his mind? Knowing that he has to do everything perfectly, being outclassed on a game that was seemingly won, heck even retirement thoughts can make a man angsty at this point
father figure is a bit of a reach. He's not even 10 years older than their youngest player.
I get overall what you're saying, but precision of language is important when comparing something like this. Father figure makes Faker sound like he's ancient or about to fall over and die. Role Model is probably the better, more apt descriptive word to use.
@@BobJason1 I forgot to type "like" a father figure, but still the point stands. 10 years in professional League of Legends terms is an eternity, especially if you take into account his accomplishments, his experience, and the respect he earned during that span

He is not frustrated by losing, he is frustrated by losing against GEN G again, there are 10 consecutive losses against GEN G
Excellence has been expected from Faker almost since the start of his career, he basically isn't allowed any mistakes. The pressure is so high, I can tell how hard it must be.

It's sad no one stopped him before he took off his glasses
it's good to see that Faker has the same passion for the game that he always had on one hand, but now seriously talking, Faker and the other members of T1 needs a big break after Worlds, they seemed really stressed this whole season, and now it's hearthbreaking to see Faker banging his head and blaming himself of the loss, Faker who is the oldest member and that probably responsibilizes himself of everything wrong that happens in the games saw what happened when he took a break bc of his injury, his whole team fell apart, and now that he is underperforming a bit probably thinks himself as a dead weight that cannot keep up the standard of being the team leader.

because he is so willing to keep delivering and push himself/t1 for success, i don't think he even has the slightest thought of retiring... although he's the one that deserved it the most by far, but because of his passion for the game and the sport and also the fact that if he leaves... t1 will fall apart... such a hard position he has to hold...
I think faker is just burned out like there's a reason why the greatest falls the fastest the more pressure we gave
All I was hoping for was for him not to hurt himself..
Nah bruh Tyler1 has his own issues to deal with.

T1 would have to go through the regional qualification matches
The way Guma held Faker says a lot
Luckily Guma is the rock there for T1
I'm glad people actually feel for him instead of the gigabros that mocked him when he cried for losing Worlds 2017
