Earlier this year (2023), I published a single book on draft2digital, earning just under $80 over several months. However, it isn't much of a book, and I used it to try the ease of publishing with the platform. I have since published many books with draft2digital.
What's good: It's free and easy to use and can reach more retailers than Amazon, including Amazon.
What's bad: I felt attitude of individuals when contacting them over issues I'd had. It's an automated system, meaning once you have uploaded your book, it is left for a computerised system to decide whether it's okay to publish, whereas Amazon employs humans.

From Draft2Digital (D2D):
Print books published through D2D Print are made available to Amazon and all distribution channels Ingram serves, including Barnes and Noble and most independent bookstores in the US. It will also be available for physical (“brick-and-mortar”) stores to order.
Also, like any POD service, Amazon stipulates that if your book is enrolled in Expanded Distribution, it is not okay for you to publish it with another company. So, suppose the book you want to publish on D2D or with any other company is enrolled in Expanded Distribution on Amazon. In that case, you must click those Expanded Distribution boxes off before you publish with D2D.
Depending on your genre, you might also get this message when it comes to print books, and for which I'm paraphrasing:
Our print vendor notified us that they no longer wish to receive books of this genre. When submitting similar content, we see this happen often. The vendor reaches a point where they have too much and don't wish to continue receiving more on that particular topic. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Hi there. Thankyou for this! What about payment into your account? How is that part set up?
Go to your account, the part where you upload your books. At the top of the screen you will see Your Account. Click on that and complete the Getting Paid option.

@@georgiacassimatis6069 Direct into your account is the done thing. Hopefully you’ve set up a completely new account for this business. Do not use your personal account you use for everything else, as it will hard to sort in the future.
How can I know the suitable dimensions of my book cover?
Use KDP cover creator page info. You’ll find the links in the description below.

You can’t use Amazon’s free ISBN outside of Amazon unfortunately.

Price what you feel it is worth. Pricing a book cheap doesn’t guarantee sales, though neither does pricing it high. If you feel your book is worth $20 dollars for the information you are providing, then go for it 🤙
