@@theglasshalffull6958 You should check out Hawlo's Pikmin walkthroughs; they know a lot of time and frustration-saving tricks like that. Plus, their walkthroughs are just informative in general.
As a long time Pikmin fan, I love watching people play the game for the first time. I just have to say that you are missing the most important reason of why white pikmin are one of the best: Management
Oh and also in 1 there is a feature where you can make your pikmin go in a straight line in any direction you move it, This is also in 2. Really funny to see you play through the games too
If you want to reset the day you just remove the game out of your whatever you’re playing it on and then it restarts to where it saves which would’ve been the end of the day previously
Much of the reason you don’t like the game I believe is actually due to a lack of understanding the controls. Remember that if you hold down the l button and use the right stick, you can command you army where to go a lot more smoothly, just keep practicing and working on your dandori!
I had some other people tell me about that feature as well and I had no idea! Going back that will fix a lot of my problems I had with the controls beforehand but I like I said in the video, I learn to love the pikmin series a lot and what it has to offer! Thanks for the words of encouragement!
something i ntoiced you did not talk about is 3 abilitys from the previus two games so fist of all in pikmin 1 on switch if you hold the l button and rotate camera you can make pikmin charge or move around way better then pikmin 3,s charge and another ability is the ability for blues to save drowning pikmin if you idle blues near drowning pikmin they willl save them by picken em up and throughing them in random direction and something else is in pikmin 2 the purple pikmin can shock which was removed in pikmin 3 maken them useless and white pikmin have 1 x atack strength can find hidden tressure imune to poisen and can damge enimes when eaten also yellow pikmins bombs can be used to kill enimies and bosses
There’s no many miscellaneous things about pikmin that I wanted to talk about but would definitely feel like fluff and kinda pointless in the grand scheme of things in the video. Either way tho good observation
I like how there’s a little build up and the idea of the plasm wraith. Seeing it for the first time was a treat and by far it has one of the most unique designs in the series. But something about it didn’t feel “final” for me and the fact that there’s no clear explanation after the game or any info in pikmin 4 doesn’t sit super well to me. Still a great boss.. but probably the weakest in the series imo
Don’t mistake bomb rocks with pikmin 1 they are the best way to deal with the final boss and not only that but you don’t dare respect the fan fav bulbmin
I also realized after I finished pikmin 1 that there was a little section where you can get the bomb rocks so I ended up beating it without them, which I guess is pretty impressive Bulbmin still look cool and all but… you barely use them
Woah.. I remember I watched a couple of your vids a couple months back and thought they were really good. I'm glad you enjoyed my video! Any advice for a small RUclipsr??
Despite the "few" views I still appreciate anyone and everyone who interacts with them, and hope one day they'll get more appreciation! But for the time being I'm glad you enjoyed the video
Olimar is the best character in nintendo: 1.fights people in space 2.fuked twice 3.gets spam from hot babes 4.he tried misterious sustancies 5.destroys almost the entire ecosistem of PNF-404
I would like to think that I experienced most of what the game has to offer story wise.. but yeah there’s so many collectibles and abilities I just didn’t feel like getting
Pikmin 2 reusing the areas from Pikmin 1 is an easter egg and a callback, nothing more. I didn't notice this myself until a really long time. It really fascinated me! It utilizes the areas differently. They are basically the same place, yet it isn't exactly the same. They are very different from each other. They look completely different and many parts have a much different layout, as the things you're supposed to do also changed. It's just a callback and a really clever one at that.
Maybe I was a little too harsh on the Pikmin 2 areas but I think the main reason I dislike them is because I played Pikmin 2 right after pikmin 1 so all the pikmin 1 areas were very fresh in my mind. So it was literally immediate that I noticed that all of Pikmin 2’s areas are just rehash’s of pikmin 1. Like I like the idea of the seasons changing in each areas since you did go back to the original planet olimar was stranded on.. but idk I can’t help but feel Thats a good enough reason to love what pikmin 2 did.
So I’ve recently learned that if you beat the big bosses located at the end of a cave most of (if not all?) you unlock special abilities for olimar. Soo I guess not 100%ing pikmin 2 has a lot of downfalls.
Only a true Pikmin fan would know that and sadly my Pikmin knowledge is and will never be as good as yours. I should probably just delete this whole video while I'm at it 😓
dw I was just kidding. I think I realized that putting Pikmin back in the onion wasn't super tedious when I was like 8 or so days in? Took a while but it's all part of the experience
@theglasshalffull6958 Also, my first pikmin experience was also in nintendo Land, and then I searched up a tutorial on how to beat it but then found the actual pikmin games and that's when it all started (when pikmin 4 wasnt a thing yet). And then I recently got every pikmin game a few days after the nintendo direct.
A lot of people pointed that out to me but I eventually realized that for myself after playing Pikmin 1 for a while and realized it wasn't so needlessly complicated. But when I first played Pikmin I thought you absolutely had to
Great video, seems like the algorithm likes this video. I enjoy watching as you experience pikmin the first time, as it brings my nostalgia of when as a kid my mom and i discovered and loved pikmin, even playing pikmin 2 battles with my uncle, myself, my mom, and friends. Pikmin is definitely a different experience, i agree with your friends singleword, management or dandori is everything in the pikmin experience.
Also until you finish the olimar section and the sage leaf trial, youve only touched the surface of pikmin 4, also louies sidequest in the postgame gives a silly reward
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! This video is definitely doing a bit better numbers wise which makes me happy since I spent a very long time making this project. So seeing my efforts pay off a little is very rewarding. It's cool how everyone close to you was able to connect with the Pikmin series in some sort of way, I don't have many gaming experiences like that but having Pikmin that close to you throughout your life must be pretty nice
Wow really? I knew there was other things I left out in Pikmin 4 but I thought I got through the game pretty well. Idk when exactly I'll return to 100% Pikmin 4 but it's good to know the game is filled with so much content
this is prob the 10th video ive seen like this where someone plays pikmin for the first time and loves it AND I LOVE IT WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NEW PIKMIN YES YES YES WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I've also seen a couple of those so it's nice to know that I'm not the only one who played Pikmin for the first time recently and thought "ohhhh so that's why everyone likes this series"
Im surprised you found pikmin one so hard. Its really not too hard and its great for speedruning. The day night cycle and day limit is a great mechanic its one of the resons why the games so fun!! Its probly more fun the better you become at the game!!
Well I only found pikmin 1 hard when I first played it. Pikmin was unlike anything I’ve ever played before and it was pretty hard to get used to if you don’t know what your doing. Obviously I am now better and would probably be able to beat pikmin 1 with relative ease but I’m still surprised how Nintendo could create a game with such a unique learning curve!

olimar's story in 4 isnt the same as pikmin 1 at all, because it takes place chronologically after pikmin 3 also it blocks out a final secret place to play until you beat it with the best ending
I know that olimar's story isn't like pikmin 1 at all that wasn't really what I was referring to in the video. But I was moreso talking about ow I knew olimars fate was to turn into a leafling and didn't have time to fully see the process of that. But again, i'll play olimars story and everything else this series has to offer eventually, to truly call myself a Pikmin fan
while the day-night system is needed in the game but the rest are good points even the ones i dont agree with like for example them getting stuck i like that aspect but i can completely understand others not liking things like that (pikmin 1)
Well I doubled back on my opinions on the day and night system in Pikmin 1 at least but there are definitely some aspects that didn't age amazingly in Pikmin 1
To bring some context to Pikmin 2, the devs were tasked with developing a follow up in just one year (didn't work out and then settled on 3 years) while Miyamoto took on a different project and only oversaw things, and things turned out in a similar way to Majoras Mask. Remixed Content from its predecessor, flipping the gameplay entirely on ity head etc. Its also as controversial as that title, with really hardcore fans swearing by it lol. I grew up with this game, so I ended up loving the challenge, the sort of cynical and dry energy of the story and humor. 3 is also an interesting case with a bunch of weird leftovers or cut content in its files, so it can only be assumed there was a scrapped area or two, probably from the jump of consoles between Wii and Wii U (not to mention the state of Nintendo at that time). Pikmin 4 was so great to see finally come out as a longtime fan because it finally feels like a fully realized entry that doesn't have to suffer due to underperforming hardware or development troubles.
Now that does make a lot of sense now with Pikmin 2. I originally assumed that the game might've been a little bit rushed but after finding out that Pikmin 1 and 2 came out 3 years apart from one another I then assumed that the developers put all their time into the caves and the overworld areas were an afterthought. I guess it's a little bit of a Mario party situation since the Gamecube had like 4 entries on the gamecube?? But you can tell there was a ton of reused assets from game to game. It's still good to note that Pikmin 2 still turned out very well despite all the setbacks. Now the case around Pikmin 3 actually really surprised me at first but the more I think about it, I see why that may be. I guess my initial thoughts of Pikmin 3 feeling too short and "incomplete" was a bit of a result of having cut content and whatnot. And now that makes me a bit more sorry for Pikmin 3. But again, the end product as a whole is still amazing. Pikmin 4 feels like the complete package and if I was a long-time Pikmin fan, I would feel very satisfied with how that game turned out after a decade of waiting. Thanks for commenting all this developer info! Makes me understand the series a lot more than before!
@@theglasshalffull6958 Yea, the Pikmin Series is no different from the other Nintendo Series with their weird development histories (Splatoon originating from a concept of two blocks of Tofu being probably the funniest example). There's a really indepth video on a cut area in Pikmin 3 that came out recently by VantageEmblem called PikminUnearthed if you want a indepth look at some of the cut content.
That makes me so happy man. I love making videos and content creation as a whole but was scared that I wasn't too good at doing it. But seeing comments like this really keeps me going. Perhaps more people will take notice in the future. I also have never played a rayman game before but it sounds like a cool series! Maybe one day I'll tackle it as well
ma guy, thats a 2001 pikmin game for you and uhm by saying that bulbmin is forgeteble you just angered around 92% of the pikmin community. And as someone that has played pikmin for around 6 years i can see your struggles but dont wory, you only need to 100% the game. And when you were so hyped about the running shoos, i was laughing cuz you get them from a boss in pikmin 2 to.
I mean bulbmin are a fantastic idea don’t get me wrong but the way they were handled in the game was done super poorly Also.. there were running shoes in pikmin 2? Damn I did miss a lot in that game
32:16 I herby call this the pikmin phenomenon: where witch you see and or hear pikmin depending on your environment or color of said environment this effect happens dut to the fact of overplay of a certain game or series of games. Other side effects may include headaches, fatigue, exhaustion, trouble of sleep. The way to stop the said phenomenon is to step away from any pikmin related things for a day to a week depending on the intensity of the said phenomenon.
Ahh interesting to note! I shall bring this strange phenomenon to my therapist the next time I see him and hope I can recover from this and don't spiral any further down (but I really want to tho)
I think the reason why most of the why the bosses are out in the wild is to make the world feel more natural rather them being traditional is to make it like real nature like oh I am in this things place
I wonder how did you spent 250$ in the series, as Pikmin 3 Deluxe is 60$, 1+2 together are 50$ and 4 is another 60$, so the total would be 170$. In Canada, they cost 80$, 65$ and 80$, so even there it would be 225$ in total. You spent from 25 to 80 extra $ in I don't know what. Unless it was like shipping in the physical editions of 3 Deluxe and 4.
Well technically you would be right BUT if you add the tax onto those purchases Pikmin 3 deluxe and Pikmin 4 would round up to $90 each and Pikmin 1+2 would be around 70ish dollars. So add all of them up and yes, The entire Pikmin series took $250 out of my wallet
Does anyone else find a slightly annoying that everyone just assumes "oh what day is ending quickly we must return every Pikmin back to their ship" I'm like no you don't have to as long as they're in your squad they're fine or in the circle of the base you don't have to worry about it
Well to be fair not everyone knows that’s how it works in the beginning. I for one did it the long and tedious way before realizing that there’s an easier way. Everyone learns at their own pace, so don’t take it too personally
First off thank you for replying and sorry for venting that frustration just from my memory of Pikmin 1 I remembered like they explaining it simply to understand
@@theglasshalffull6958 I’m just kind of amazed, because since it’s in the first few caves, I’ve always considered it kind of required. I guess nothing is 100% required in those games 😆
2 things I would like to say, 1 what did you think about only being able to have only 3 pikmin types out in pikmin 4? And 2, Louie was trying to turn 2 of the kopites into leaflings, and was shocked when it didn’t turn them into leaflings, so that is pretty morally wrong I would say.
To answer those questions... 1. I didn't REALLY mind that much I guess? Sure it's a little disappointing and tedious to not have every pikmin at your disposal I can see why having the ability to have 9 different pikmin on the field can becoming too mind-numbing. Plus I guess it adds to the strategy a little bit since now you have to optimally choose which Pikmin would be best to use per area/cave (ik you can auto select pikmin but that point still stands. 2. ..yeah I guess your right. Louie may not be a psycho but he can definitely make some... interesting decisions sometimes
@@theglasshalffull6958 Louie (theoretically) tried to kill olimar in pikmin 2, steals all your food in pikmin 3, manipulates a huge, ancient, peaceful, gentle dog into a murderous rampage in an attempt to kill you and your pikmin, likely only keeps pikmin alive because they kill and carry all the creatures he eats, has no concern for the well being of others, is the entire reason for the debt in pikmin 2, and tries to turn innocent people into leaflings likely so that they too can carry around dead creatures and hunt them. I would say he did a little more than make a few interesting decision lol.
Note for people who complain about the days in pikmin 2. It's something like a high score. In the original game there was high scores. The challenge is to see how fast you can get things done.
I don't think it's a bad thing, in fact I like how the developers wanted to change some gameplay aspects to make Pikmin 2 feel more unique. But I will admit I like the day/night feature a lot more in Pikmin 1 since it builds a lot more suspense than other games
@@theglasshalffull6958 but we can agree one thing. Pikmin 3 days being continued by juices is a joke if you're good at the game. Like I literally never got a game over. And while Pikmin 3 looks nice and improves things. The game is just to easy. Enemies die more faster, it feels linear, and charging is broken. Pikmin 1 and 2 both share challenge. But you can have an opinion and go with it. I cannot argue with that unlike others.
Yea I can somewhat agree with that. I do think that having a whole system where you need juice to continue each day is a cool idea but doesn’t cause much of an impact on execution. And while I do think pikmin 3 is probably easier than the other 2 I still prefer it to the first 2 games. And most of the features that make pikmin 3 easier are user friendly additions that make the game a lot more accessible imo. Plus I never thought the game was baby easy where it was a breeze I still had a decent amount of difficulty trying to get through some bosses and I especially had trouble on the final segment of the game.
It feels weird watching people who aren’t experienced with its tricks and mechanics. I know that I was once bad, but I don’t remember any of it. The ONLY thing I remember from my first playthrough is crying after I lost 50 Pikmin to sunset (only because my parents would tease me for crying in a video game). When Pikmin 3 Deluxe came out, I found it genuinely surprising that my friends had trouble in the Tropical Wilds puzzle segement.
Well with a game like pikmin it’s kinda hard to pick it up and immediately get used to it since the gameplay is so unique compared to anything else. Like the first time I picked up a Kirby game I got well adjusted to it much more easily since It’s a 2D platformer and it’s hard not to have played a a 2D Mario sometime in your life. This is not to say that pikmin has bad controls tho, it just makes the experience a lot more fun and makes the practice of dandori a much more interesting learning curve than any other game. And god damn your parents are ruthless for making fun of you like that
Little bit sad you missed the cave where you had to bring all blue pikmin into it, or you did do it or just didn't add it to yhe video. But thats where bulbmin would have been the most helpful for you and its one of the best caves in pikmin 2 (in my opinion) but iver all fantastic video! And i hppe you at least enjoyed the games, sense i love yhe dearly.
YOU BEAT THE ENTIRE POSTGAME BEFORE NOTICING THE GIANT GLOWING BUTTONS IN THE CORNER OF THE MAP SCREEN??? I'm not one of those "get off ya damn phone" types, but like... Maybe pay a LITTLE attention to the screen you're playing on? I also have videos going in the background while I'm playing, but you need to pause once in a while and actually absorb information about what you're playing. If I need to think and make a decision, I pause the video so I can focus. If you're trying to analyze content, *please* give that content the attention that it deserves.
ok so I basically recorded all of my footage on my freetime and since it took so much storage out of my PC I've deleted all of it. Maybe I should stream/record all the gameplay next time I do this sort of video tho. I originally thought no one would be interested but maybe not?

Formidable oak
You either love it or hate it
Don’t get me wrong I really enjoyed the formidable oak.. I just wasn’t satisfied that it was the FINAL area
If you want to reset the day you just remove the game out of your whatever you’re playing it on and then it restarts to where it saves which would’ve been the end of the day previously
I posted this before you explain what I just said
Much of the reason you don’t like the game I believe is actually due to a lack of understanding the controls.
So i'd call the whole no history of the plasm wraith kinda unfair. its supposed to be a mystery and theres vague hints in game.
Why am I actually kind of disappointed that he didn’t cover Hey! Pikmin?
Hey pikmin isn’t a bad game but it’s just that… I didn’t feel like playing it
Fun fact: louie is hiding something 100% pikmin 2 to see
I realize that by the end of the video! And I'll just say Louie... is an interesting guy
The forest navel isn’t hard. YOU JUST HAVE WHAT’S CALLED A DANDORI ISSUE
In retrospect, I guess it wasn't. I was just inexperienced back then (I'm coping it was actually a dandori issue)
Don’t mistake bomb rocks with pikmin 1 they are the best way to deal with the final boss and not only that but you don’t dare respect the fan fav bulbmin
I also realized after I finished pikmin 1 that there was a little section where you can get the bomb rocks so I ended up beating it without them, which I guess is pretty impressive
Bulbmin still look cool and all but… you barely use them

1.fights people in space
2.fuked twice
3.gets spam from hot babes
4.he tried misterious sustancies

@@theglasshalffull6958 You also missed an " horror " joke
Treasure gauge already exist in Pikmin 2. That being the white Pikmin and the treasure gauge which you can unlock
So I’ve recently learned that if you beat the big bosses located at the end of a cave most of (if not all?) you unlock special abilities for olimar. Soo I guess not 100%ing pikmin 2 has a lot of downfalls.
Umm, actually, in pikmin 1, you dont need to run back to base and put your pikmin in the onion, You just have to have them in your squad. 🤓
Only a true Pikmin fan would know that and sadly my Pikmin knowledge is and will never be as good as yours. I should probably just delete this whole video while I'm at it 😓
Nah, it's alright it was your first time!
dw I was just kidding.
Guess we both made some dents in our wallets to experience Pikmin
bros just bad at pikmin
Hey man you don’t have to say it out loud..
you dont need to put the pikmin in the onion at the end of the day just call all of them back behind you and wait till times over
A lot of people pointed that out to me but I eventually realized that for myself after playing Pikmin 1 for a while and realized it wasn't so needlessly complicated.

Pikmin 1 isn't hard but the horrible AI the Pikmin has make it hard lmao

olimar's story in 4 isnt the same as pikmin 1 at all, because it takes place chronologically after pikmin 3
also it blocks out a final secret place to play until you beat it with the best ending
I know that olimar's story isn't like pikmin 1 at all that wasn't really what I was referring to in the video. But I was moreso talking about ow I knew olimars fate was to turn into a leafling and didn't have time to fully see the process of that.

Damn that seems like such a cool memory! Have they ever played any of the pikmin games since then or no?
By the way Louie actually controls the Pikmin 2 and 4 bosses
while the day-night system is needed in the game but the rest are good points even the ones i dont agree with like for example them getting stuck i like that aspect but i can completely understand others not liking things like that (pikmin 1)
Well I doubled back on my opinions on the day and night system in Pikmin 1 at least but there are definitely some aspects that didn't age amazingly in Pikmin 1
@@theglasshalffull6958 Yes I 100% agree but i somehow must not have caught that you doubled back
To bring some context to Pikmin 2, the devs were tasked with developing a follow up in just one year (didn't work out and then settled on 3 years) while Miyamoto took on a different project and only oversaw things, and things turned out in a similar way to Majoras Mask.

Why does he keep saying pitchmin
Idk it seemed fun
Bro never met the water wraith….till 4
Uhh.. better late than never?

Lickmin 4 ??????

Is there a series of videos or a super long stream of you playing? Or is it just a summary of your experience playing?
ok so I basically recorded all of my footage on my freetime and since it took so much storage out of my PC I've deleted all of it.
