I've worked in warehouses and done inventory for the greater part of my adult life. I'm now the inventory manager for a party rental company that has ZERO procedures in place. I'm literally having to invent a procedure. Through my experience I've made head way, but your videos are great to use in employee training. I find myself hearing methods I've used plus others that are new to me.
I Love how you explained cycle count. I just got promoted as Inventory Analyst and i know i have so many things to learn when it comes to inventory management and your video was a great help.
I recently graduated and I'm about to begin a role as a production scheduler. Your videos are a great help, and I will return to keep gaining more knowledge! Thanks
Thanks for the comment! Regarding your question: If you are measuring INVENTORY ACCURACY, the numerators should be the accurate inventory, If you prefer measuring the INVENTORY INACCURACY, then the numerator is the inaccurate inventory
You are the first person I find that I don’t need to watch their videos more than once to understand, and the whole entire video is full of useful information and straight to the point. Great Job!!👍, you got a new subscriber here : )
I’m starting my new job as an inventory auditor and in need of videos like this. Thank you! Hope i can stay in touch with you personally for any clarification i get to ask from you.
The cycle counts in the company I work for are done by row and aisle without shutting down the skus. So essentially, sometimes you end up cycle counting something as the products are in picking or are being picked. Any suggestions on how to approach this problem?
You answered your own question freeze the sku, cycle count, return to operations - report - actions for discrepancies - action to remove discrepancies from happening - measure for resource - create training modules
Thanks for reaching out! This sounds like a specific issue. I'd be happy to chat and see if we can figure it out together. Shoot an email to ennio@laceupsolutions.com, to set up a meeting.
I didn't quite understand the advice to count a bin when it's empty -- are you implying that an empty bin would equal 'zero' items in the inventory report, and as such, both the bin items and the inventory report should hit zero at the same time if data is considered accurate? Thanks for the awesome videos... I am learning a tonne!
Always should check empty bins sometimes systems show stock but the inventory is located in another bin. Also vice versa bin may be full of inventory and system shows nothing.
I work as a inventory coordinator now and this place I work at is a mess. Other departments don't know how to map or they just take product and put them wherever they want. We don't have an actual warehouse so product gets wasted, a lot. I always watch ur videos hoping I could help this company. I love my job but no right stuff for job and lack of training get us nowhere.
I'm sorry about this. This means that you need a WMS and a manager to enforce the system's processes. If you are missing either the system or the manager/process, the warehouse will continue to be a mess forever.
Thank you for your video , analysis of micro level management in doing Inventory .I am having 15L stock of 400 varieties. Cost difference 1 to even 100 times. Daily receiving 2L and two days once 2L despatch. Can you suggest a best method for me please .
I got hired as an inventory clerk I always get yelled at because my count always didnt match up in quickbooks and everytime I count an item when I came back and count it again I am missing 1 or 2 I did what I could to track it and another factor is I was assigned to organize the 2nd warehouse where there is so much messed and the technician dont want his items to be moved so Im out of space for his stock materials to used Im so stressed I've been working over time for free for almost 2 months now just to catch up on this mess I dont even take breaks just to keep up with the workload Im in a frustrating situation right now I often get yelled because of this I'm about to hit 3rd month I got the idea but the thing is my count and QuickBooks are not having the same count my manager always yelled at me
I'm sorry to hear about this... There is obviously a mess in the inventory and you are expected to keep everything perfect. The problem is that the mess is causing the discrepancy. Really hard to do without a system... I would say that you have two options, 1. Implement a WMS or 2. Start looking for another opportunity
No way. This is the company's problem. This is their profit they're f'in with. Unfortunately your dedication is being taken advantage of. Take that dedication to a company who will appreciate it & you. Believe me there are plenty of large well known companies who want and appreciate thorough counters. There is this a perception that cycle counting is the "easy job" until those people are made to cycle count. Many people quit when they're made to cycle count. Organization is everything. But no one really cares except those who need to accurately count it. Take your hard work elsewhere.

Thank you my friend for your feedback.
I just became the person that is suppose to do inventory at a large bread company, what kind of procedures have you put into place?
@@ezfox2825 You will need to establish a cycle count procedure to start. From there build out your inventory management procedure.

We have to do inventory on Saturday and Sunday. Cycle counts only work if you’re looking at 3:39 it across divisions. You’re looking at one store.
I'm in a small IT dept and must know most of the manufacturing process. This is awesome.

Very informative video. Also at 11:32 in the formula the numerator should be Number of inaccurate inventory?

Hi Mickey, loving your videos and learning a lot. Can you please recommend a comprehensive book that I can use as a guide for warehouse management?
I wish I had one my friend… don’t have any books

How do you deal with BAD ORDERS what system should be done? Say a warehouse that sells Wholesale Grocery items.
When do you realize that its a bad order? Is this an order that gets rejected by a customer? Please let me know And I will be able to shed some light.
don’t just talk, PPT, show PPT not just a face. we don’t need to read the face, we need to read the PPT and BI graphic. just a you-tuber.
