I know I've said this before, but I'm always amazed by how excellent your close ups are, and the sharpness of the camera focus work. One of the best on RUclips, IMHO. For me, I think I would have gone with a classic old school Napoleon style folding mirror, but maybe the younger, more hip biking crowd would find them a bit too dated, lol.
Thank you very much for your very kind words on the productions, we do work incredibly hard to capture the right moments and clarity, and it does involve an awful lot of post-production work, so we are both extremely grateful for your recognising this, it's much appreciated.
I’m liking this wee series of vids Del. Shows how easy it is to personalise your bike for those of us who maybe don’t have access to a welding machine or fabrication equipment. You can still do a nice job with bolt on parts and make the bike your own.
Totally agree Alan, you're dead right, there's nothing wrong with a bolt on project, use the right parts and you will, indeed, improve the quality of your bike no end... great to hear from you, have a wonderful weekend, D&Px

Hang the bar end mirrors under the bars and use only the RH side, elbow gone, as your looking past your waste, it's amazing how quickly you get used to it and it looks so much better, I been doing it on Harleys and Triumphs for decades, long before Harley did it on their 48 which I have now to play on though I do use both on the RK when I go somewhere.

It's great to hear that you're interested in a Triumph, will you trade the Ducati in? They're a premium bike, so I iimagine you'd get a great price, regardless of service schedule... if you do for the Triumph, and you are able to test ride them, then check the Speed Twin against the T120, they're a slightly different engine, the T120 has a heavier flywheel for more low down torque, which is a big advantage in town... you can keep the revs low, and ride the torque surge, the Speed Twin is more revvy and a bit more 'hooligan'... so maybe try them both and see which one appeals. Saturday morning and a new vid ... Great way to start the weekend. If you ever have time free, I'd love a 5 minute walk thru on how you get the bike on the table and wind the front clamp on solo while supporting the bike. I'm buying myself a lift table for my Xmas and would like to watch how to clamp the front wheel. Cheers.
Hi buddy, what a great present for yourself, you'll absolutely love it.. ! I do have a video, called 'Safe Use of a Motorcycle Lift' which should help you out a lot, it also covers the safety tips and basics of making sure you don't hurt yourself, or damage your bike, but generally speaking, it's not difficult, just a matter of vigilance, a bit of balance and practice... if you keep the front wheel clamp just open enough to slot the wheel in, then you can hold the bike up with your right hand, whilst you clamp the wheel with your left... if you try it a few times with a helper nearby, then you'll get the hang of it and you can do it on your own... enjoy your Xmas present mate, you won't look back... oh, and don't forget the load straps!
Del, Your being nice saying, we know what you're explaining,,but trust me,, it'll save some accidents. I watched a video where the dude was showing people how to replace rear shocks. I'm sure you can guess what he did that he,, the instructor,,that almost caused a serious incident. So go ahead my friend,,, tell people what not,,,to do.

@@Moonfleet41 Hey mate, Sorry to hear it's not getting better over there. But on the whole things are getting better more people are getting back to work, so we are on the up. Penny and you take care and stay safe. Cheers
@@rsbharley4766 No, far from it mate, people are more stupid than ever, selfish and ignorant, now demonstrating in London, 15k strong calling themselves the anti-lockdown league or something, we have a student outbreak at a university so they've all been locked in their accommodation, for obvious reasons, and they are all screaming about their human rights... and it appears that people will not take it seriously... the problem we have here is that county borders aren't recognised by anyone, we don't have different states and this is a small country, Boris should have locked the county borders back in March, instead of literally telling people they can go as far as they want to exercise, so 1/2 million dipshits came to the beach here where we live on the same day! And then again, on every single Bank Holiday through the summer, now the kids are back to school, they're all dropping like flies too! We're just dodging it and keeping safe mate! Glad to hear things are improving there for you, hopefully we'll turn a corner soon too! D&Px
At first I thought that bar end mirrors were stupid…why would you want something that makes your bike wider, especially when you filter to and from work every day. But now I see that they are the solution to constantly seeing your elbows when riding a bike. :)
Go for it with the editing Sir, it's just practice and attenton to detail, be creative and enjoy the process... not sure what format you're using, or what editing software, but that can help a lot, depends if you're a PC or Mac user, but we use iMovie in Mac, which gives us features and facilities for editing that was never available on MovieMaker.
Not a great fan of that look Rae, they look a bit odd, and you have to look almost down at your knee to see in it, ok in Ape hangers as they're level with your face.. To my taste they just look too detached stuck on the end of the bars.. either way up..
Greetings from across the pond, I recently purchased a 2018 Bonneville T120 from a dealer in Texas and had it shipped to me here in snowy and frigid Eastern Washington state. It arrived a few days ago. Previously I owned an air cooled 2016 air cooled T100. Changing the spark plugs although a little tight was easy in that bike. Is it just me or does it seem nearly impossible to change the plugs on the T120!!?? When I go to remove the plug wire, the hard plastic spark plug boot does not seem to clear the tank. I hope it's not the case that the tank needs to be removed just to change the stinking spark plug. Also haven't been able to find anything on the the web about changing plugs on the T120. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Hey Daniel, take the seat off, remove the rear bolts the hold the back of the tank, then lift the tank up by the beck edge and put a block of wood under it to hold the tank up a bit.. that should give you clearance to change the plugs..!
Arrgh - Mr. Mouse's mirrors, past watching on your tail, moose antler loft effective, yet visually much fail. Needs something sleek & stylish, that's easy for the eye, to trundle round & focus, on things that just went by. For staring at one's elbows, won't keep your licence fit, when that MIGHT have been a cop car, & you're clipping on a bit! As for the sump guard . . . Tonka cricket box . . . have a great w/e both : ) x
Under slung mirrors work well with Ape Hangers because they're level with your face, but under slung on a bike like this, you're looking practically down at your knee to get a view in it. which isn't ideal...and it still looks odd to me stuck out hanging off the end of the bar..just personal taste i guess !
I do not know how it works in UB but in Italy those mirrors, especially the second set, would probably not pass the bi-yearly safety inspection (is there one in UK? the removal of the cat converter makes me wonder....). Mirrors need the CE approval, and above all, must fulfill the purpose! I personally have no problem at all with the original Bonneville mirror, they are not ugly at all, they "belong to the picture", and do fulfill the purpose!
The link works fine, but if it shows no results, it's probably because the product is out of stock, you could contact TEC directly and enquire and I'm sure they would clarify!
Small changes make a big difference. Looks good. But stop saying "...but you knew that didn't you" Don't make assumptions about what your watchers know. I've picked up a few things from watching your videos that I didn't know. Looking forward to the next video. 👍🏻
Hi Paul, of course I'm aware that various information I put across may not be known, otherwise I wouldn't do it, the simple reason I say, you knew that, is for those that do know and have known it for years, just trying to be polite mate and cater for all viewer's skill set, no offence intended, I wouldn't suggest at all that you should know any of the things that help us, we're all novices at some point and every day's a school day, certainly me included mate!
Hey Del, wanted to ask. I keep hearing how light the clutch pull is on the Triumph Bonnevilles. Mines a 2005 and the clutch is not, a one finger pull like I keep hearing. When did they, or did they change to a different ttype of clutch set up? I'm not saying it's super hard, it's just not the,,,,assisted,,, feeling, like a hydraulic clutch is,feel. Thanks Del.
I don't know the date mate, but the most recent Triumphs that have lightweight clutches achieve it through a better designed clutch ramp inside the casing... you can reduce your clutch pull with a Slinky Glide cable, specially if yours is quite old, or original most people don't replace them till they break, then you're standard, so chuck a Slinky Glide on it and it should make a notable improvement (we have videos on this if you need to know!).
@@Moonfleet41 Thanks Del, Mines a 2005. I do notice the connection point of at the case on the newer bikes is at the bottom, where mine is on top. I don't mind the pull, I've been a carpenter all my life, so hand strength is important. But feathering is obviously more challenging. Thanks for the info on the better cable. Take care.
Fractionally yes, but more importantly, they can actually go further out for people with big hands, and also the ball on the end of the standard ones is irritatingly always under your little finger and obtrusive, but the the TEC levers all four fingers fall perfectly in the sweep of the straight part... there's only so much closer that any lever can come before you fail to get full application, especially with the cluth, and on top of that buddy, they're infinitely better quality as well... these factory levers are practically the same as were on Penny's Scrambler that's now 7yrs old, so they really should have updated them by now!
Question for you sir. I just replaced my levers on my 2009 Bonneville SE. The original ones had a little play in them moving up and down. When I installed the new ones the have the same play. Is this supposed to be this way? I was thinking my old levers when just old and a little warped.
If you've replaced the levers in to the old clevice clamp, is it possible the wear is in the clamp and not in the lever? Take the two levers and measure the thickness of the end that fits in to the clevice with a caliper, if they are more or less the same, then that confirms the wear is in the clamp housing... so to eliminate it, you'll have to replace them! Also, is there wear on the pin that drops through the hole, and are you using the same worn pin?
Yes it does, but you're gonna get splash out from removing it, so just undo the four screws and drop it off, as you don't want to have oil laying inside your bashguard!
Now there's a thing... I think it would be just to have an open cheque book and not have to scrimp and scrape to buy parts and materials all the time... to build anything without the restrictions of budget is a dream in itself!
@@Moonfleet41 it would be good to be able to do it, totally agree it would be a dream. I really want to streetfighter mine but it gets expensive fast ha ha. Hopefully one day you might be able to do a full on build , no expense spared.!
Gordon Ramsay might be very flattered by the comparison, but Ohlins probably not! As for Fanny Craddock, she'd probably just be pleased you didn't compare her to girders.
I just bought a 2023 T120 a couple of months ago. Don't love the mirrors. Who is the manufacturer for those mirrors? And the model? I'm interested. Thanks.
I believe they no longer stock those mirrors, and for what it's worth, they're not very good anyway. They look ok, but the glass was flat and not convex, to they gave a tiny field of view.. i cnaged over not long after this to some slightly larger ones..!
Vision via mirrors!!! At 6.4 and 19st m8 I've actually given up trying to get a clear view rearward even on a sports bike Folk behind me must think I'm nuts in the contorted mess I get into even trying lol Time to purchase some of those camera connected units I've seen on several machines via you tube May stop me getting pulled for karma sutra moves on the queens highway lol
'Karma Sutra moves'... comment of the day! Perhaps you could do a video on motorcycle yoga!! ;-) Halfway through your message I was already thinking 'camera'! But if you can't afford one, there is a thing called a RiderScan, you've probably heard of it and they look a bit daffy, but they bloody work! Like a super curved convex mirror you fit on your screen, and they're a damn sight cheaper than a camera system... worth a look mate!

I didn’t know that about clutch cable adjustment ( well I did but wasn’t clear ) so thank you Del Boy 👍🏻
Most welcome buddy, glad it helped!
As always del great video, my T120 bonneville black came with bar end mirrors that I didn't like, but I did like the smaller mirrors you put on. 👍
Yeah they do look a lot better, not maybe the perfect rear view, but it's always a trade off aye?!
Hi man i have a huge crack in my honda xr 250 swingarm do you think i could weld it or should i just buy a new one
Quality edits and content 100%.
Thank you very much for your kind words, it's much appreciated, glad you enjoyed it!
Nice mod's Del, looks great mate. It's a sweet looking bike. Penny and you have a relaxing weekend, stay safe. Hope things are getting better over there and the crazy people are starting to do the right thing. Cheers
Hi mate, thanks for your kind message... we're ok personally, but the R rate is going up and up here, more restrictions, so think it'll be a long slog... we're we're keeping safe, hope you are too, how's things there? Have a great weekend yourself and ride safe! D&Px
@@Moonfleet41 Hey mate, Sorry to hear it's not getting better over there. Things are pretty good here in Western Australia as the premier of west oz closed the boarder pretty quick after the out break, you still have the crazy people not doing the right thing, trying to get across the boarder or flying in and thinking quarantine does not apply to them.
D&Px
Fantastic video del really looking forward to next one stay safe 🇬🇧👍🏻
Thanks Richard, glad you enjoyed... keep safe there, and have a great weekend!
Nice work Del and Penny!
Thank you kindly
Prefer the bar end mirrors Del .
Thanks for the video.
Great vid Del, excellent camera angles so you can see exactly which bolt you are taking out, im looking forward to the next one
Thanks Dave, great that you appreciate it 👍
Hellow from Russia! Thanks a lot for your movie! :-):-):-):-):-):-):-)
At first I thought that bar end mirrors were stupid…why would you want something that makes your bike wider, especially when you filter to and from work every day. But now I see that they are the solution to constantly seeing your elbows when riding a bike. :)
Yes mate, they are a trade off and you'll soon get accustomed to the extrawidth when filtering!
Del's surgical precision! 👌
Dam Del well done 👍 looks fantastic. Some day I dream to reach your level of experience- video editing and bike knowledge/repair.
Great video as always.
Did you think about putting the bar end mirrors the other way round, ie; pointing down?
Not a great fan of that look Rae, they look a bit odd, and you have to look almost down at your knee to see in it, ok in Ape hangers as they're level with your face.. To my taste they just look too detached stuck on the end of the bars.. either way up..
Great Video bike is looking great Del 👏👏👌🏻👍
Nicely done sir
Thank you kindly!
What is the exact torque to put back the 2 clutch guide bolts? Or do those matter?
Greetings from across the pond,
I recently purchased a 2018 Bonneville T120 from a dealer in Texas and had it shipped to me here in snowy and frigid Eastern Washington state.
@@Moonfleet41
Sounds good. I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the feedback!
Great looking bike mate
Great video!! Do you have a TEC part number for those street fighter mirrors? Thanks!
No, TEC don't do part numbers, they just list under a description on their website, here's a link: www.tecbikeparts.com/contact/
Thanks!!
I think that first set of mirrors in the down position would look quite smart.Giving you a site line under your arms.RMM
Great tips today thanks.. :)
Nice work man..
Arrgh - Mr. Mouse's mirrors, past watching on your tail,
moose antler loft effective, yet visually much fail.
Needs something sleek & stylish, that's easy for the eye,
to trundle round & focus, on things that just went by.
For staring at one's elbows, won't keep your licence fit,
when that MIGHT have been a cop car, & you're clipping on a bit!
As for the sump guard . . . Tonka cricket box . . . have a great w/e both : ) x

@@Moonfleet41 -Whoa! . . . Tonka needs a triangular paint job : )
Del, would the bar end mirrors impede if fitted under the bars? Cheers.
Nice video!! Where can I find the mirrors you are suggesting, the link seem to be broken :(
The link works fine, but if it shows no results, it's probably because the product is out of stock, you could contact TEC directly and enquire and I'm sure they would clarify!
Take care.
The removal of the Cat leaves a nice place to store a Pastie or two
Brilliant and nicely warmed for when you arrive at work!
Nice bike!
I'm 51, 6"3', average weight. Would you recommend the T100 or the T120 as a first bike?
I am 5"8 and the fit is just right ,but ultimately u should test ride them and see.
I actually didnt know that mate, so it was worth saying!
Which bit was that buddy?
Delboy's Garage the bit about undoing the frame bolts off the side stand!
Aha, get it... quite a few of the Triumph range don't have a main stand, so thought it was worth a mention!
(P) Nice one guys, gotta love a bit of bling. Vast improvement! 😀
Cheers buddy, have a great weekend, see you on the flip side! Love to all, D&Px
So much better looking now Del, Can the new levers be adjusted closer to the bars than standard items?
I think the bar ends might have looked better under the bars
Top tip 🔧🤜🏻
Yeah we all knew all of that! [runs out to garage]
Maybe a black exhaust would be better suited.
Does the engine guard leave room to change the oil filter.
Yes it does, but you're gonna get splash out from removing it, so just undo the four screws and drop it off, as you don't want to have oil laying inside your bashguard!
ever thought about bar end mirrors underslung? works for bmw
What would your dream bike build be del, money no object. ??
Now there's a thing... I think it would be just to have an open cheque book and not have to scrimp and scrape to buy parts and materials all the time... to build anything without the restrictions of budget is a dream in itself!
@@Moonfleet41 it would be good to be able to do it, totally agree it would be a dream. I really want to streetfighter mine but it gets expensive fast ha ha.
Hopefully one day you might be able to do a full on build , no expense spared.!
New Triumph? Cool
Gordon Ramsay might be very flattered by the comparison, but Ohlins probably not! As for Fanny Craddock, she'd probably just be pleased you didn't compare her to girders.
Cheers buddy, comment of the day!
Another excellent video Del , thank you .
Glad you enjoyed it Kenneth, thanks for your support!
I liked the bar ends better.
I just bought a 2023 T120 a couple of months ago. Don't love the mirrors. Who is the manufacturer for those mirrors? And the model? I'm interested. Thanks.
Cannot find these mirrors on the tecbikeparts website.
I believe they no longer stock those mirrors, and for what it's worth, they're not very good anyway. They look ok, but the glass was flat and not convex, to they gave a tiny field of view.. i cnaged over not long after this to some slightly larger ones..!
Thanks for the follow up.@@Moonfleet41
Vision via mirrors!!! At 6.4 and 19st m8 I've actually given up trying to get a clear view rearward even on a sports bike
Folk behind me must think I'm nuts in the contorted mess I get into even trying lol
Time to purchase some of those camera connected units I've seen on several machines via you tube May stop me getting pulled for karma sutra moves on the queens highway lol

Thanks for this Del. Going to upgrade the levers for some Tec ones on my street twin so this was really helpful. Been meaning to get a torque wrench for future upgrades. What one do you use? Thanks for the informative videos. So helpful for a complete novice who is new to biking. Thank you
Hi Ed, that's a great plan, you'll love the levers, they are super quality and great value... and as for a torque wrench, this is the one I use, there's a huge market of torque wrenches, but I chose this one for it's extra wide range, 7Nm - 112Nm, it's all solid metal and 3/8 drive is perfect for a bike... a great investment and I'm really happy with it... here's a link to the one I use: www.sealey.co.uk/product/5637202070/torque-wrench-micrometer-style-38sq-drive-7-112nm5-83lbft---calibrated Thanks for your kind words, glad the videos can help you out!
