Ran the motors boat runs at 40 mph at 4600 rpm so changed to 4 blade prop and 2 pitch less to 15 from 17 pitch now with full water tank 36 gal. and 3 people it runs 35 mph and 5300 rpm almost perfect need to raise motor 2 inches. it sits in water same as the inboards I shave about 1000 lbs off total weight but i moved 1000 lbs motors back 5 feet ballance is perfect rides nice plains in half the time. Way easier on fuel about double from .80 mpg to 1.6 mpg. At the hight of the swim platform is now it is about 3 inches out of water should have mounted it 4 inches higher. I'm not going to change it don't want more holes. It is allright just if I was to do it again I would raise it. And I would do it again it is working great. On a byliner 2958.

Why did you slow it down so much? It sounds like it would get better mpg with the other props.
Trying to do this on my searay.. did u float the boat before mounting transom?
