    • @jc6812
      @jc6812 Год назад +1

      Exactly drivers need to be way more picky about what rides they choose. If this happens Uber will be forced to pay better fares. There's no reason they should have such a big cut of the overall fare in the first place. Uber shouldn't get more than 40% of the fare ever.

      Sometimes they don’t know better. They get tricked. The only reason I see through Uber’s shenanigans is because I have been around since 2016. I have seen trips go from $33to $24, $22 to $14. Upfront pricing is one of the biggest scams going on in the US right now.

    I work Uber as a side job. But honestly, I am wasting my time. Last Wednesday and Thursday, I sat at the airport 5 hours each day and I couldn't take any of their stupid offers. In salt lake city, it is sometimes 20, 80 percent split, which Uber takes the 80. On Friday, during the busy hours, I only accepted a short 7 miles ride which it was 20 bucks since there was 14 dollars on the screen. And my rider gave me 5 dollars in tips, eventhough, she said Uber charged her 45 dollars. I rejected over 35 rides because none of them was worth my time and gas, mileage, etc. I've seen how much they charge the riders sometimes up to 180 dollars for 35 miles, but hardly pays us 40 for that trip. If they run their business this way during the ski season, I will quit. Unfortunately there are drivers out there that have no talents to do simple math, and Uber abuse them as much as they can handle it. When you tell them, that they are actually losing money by accepting these nonsense rides, they say, you are jealous!!. Well when their cars breaks down, and there is no money to fix it, they might realize that they are stupid and Uber uses them as it's puppets.

      Agreed 💯. Mostly of them are immigrants, that compare the money they make in Uber/Lyft, with they use to make in their countries, of course much more. Like you said they will be driving until their cars fall apart, and then realize it not worth it. BUT others immigrants will continue arriving and de cycle start again, for that reason this country needs more fresh immigrants to continue slavery.

    I signed up for Lyft & the Hertz rental program in late June 2023. A month in I was rear ended & was NOT at fault. Lyft still marked me for the accident and sent a warning email. On Aug 12th 2023 at around 9:30pm I was giving a ride in Koreatown & we ended up stuck in traffic because a crazy guy with a gun was shooting in the street. I safely got us out of there as scary as it was. 2 days later i wake up to "Your Account Was Deactivated For Safety Concerns". On top of that Hertz forgot to mark the car returned when I returned it. I had to call them to ask why my car was still in the system and the guy on the phone said "Oh I forgot, Ill fix it". I still got charged for the extra week I wasn't even driving. Lyft refused to give me my deposit back even after I explained everything. I really just want my deposit back & the extra $69 I had to pay on top of that.

      If they are too cheap to pay human drivers bringing their own cars without cost to Uber....self driving cars will be far more expensive. This level of exploitation is far cheaper than the costs & liabilities of self driving cars which would require far more infrastructure that would totally undermine Uber's business model of being not too much more than an online money grabbing app. with little investment beyond online tech and skeleton crew support when not outsourced.

    I’d like to know the acceptance rate of autonomous vehicles, you’d assume it be 100, are they forced to take all the garbage, and does this encourage uber to send more of these trash rides, granted I appreciate there are desperados and formica doing the same

    You should make a video on how to maximize earnings with this lower fares. I like how you’re teaching us what Uber is doing and how they are fucking us, but it’ll be nice if you teach us or give us advice on trips that we should take.

    I drive in Birmingham AL. Lyft is about dead here they got caught skimming (yikes). Uber is wildly popular it doesn't seem like there are enough drivers.

    Even if the split were reversed and the driver was getting 70% it wouldn’t be ethical.

    Let all stop complaining. No driver equal no business for them. Let come together and stop driving at least one or two days. Lets plan this together

    The only time I really took garbage ride was before 2020 when we didn’t have the front info because we didn’t know whether or not we were gonna get a garbage trip. But with seeing the details upfront, it makes it easier to reject the garbage trips, and to pick the better paying rides. I calculate the time and distance with the old rate card before excepting a trip, and as long as the fair is equivalent, or greater than the calculations, I’m good.

    I used to drive Uber 4 years ago I could make a check and cover some expenses. Now what Uber has done should not even be legal in the United States. The fare is absolute joke. Not worth the time and damage to your vehicle. What’s the point of driving Uber if you can barely cover the cost of gas, then oil changes are like every two weeks if you drive about 30 hrs per week. Then repairs, new tires/other parts. Uber is on some cloud 9 shiiit. I feel like they are abusing all the people that are driving for them at this point. Uber CEO also like to play high stakes poker so I guess it all makes sense.

    Yeah this what both Lyft and Uber doing. It’s horrible. It was a 80/20 split our way when I first started. 2015. The riders are paying more and we get less. Which is why tips are way down.

    It wont change until Govt step in. each week 10k drivers smarten up and realize not to take this garbage, that same week 10k new drivers signed up and take it. New drivers see $$$ signs when they get a trip offer. Simply they dont do the math
