- A historic view of Sherborne in Dorset during 1957 starting at the bottom of Cheap Street, then near the Abbey, then back to Cheap Street , past the old Carlton Cinema and finishing at Newland. Easier to park in those days for sure.
It's amazing to see what my family's home town looked before I was born
Wow. The biggest difference is being able to see the roads. It's impossible to get a car free photograph in Sherborne now. Even with the lockdown (April 2020).
Many thanks for posting this old film! It reminds me of when I visited Sherborne in 1990. It still had somewhat of a calm, rural village feel to it. When I got back again in 2014, it felt like a suburb of London with hordes of cars and people. I prefer the earlier version of Sherborne.
Interesting. I feel like Dr Who!!
I do not like folks dieing, the old then all gone, would love to chat with them all perhaps one day maybe!
