Man this is the best open world game hands down. R*'s budget was over in the 200+ Million, advertising included. But you can see and feel every last dime of it in the very diverse jam packed ginornous world they created. The most impressive feat in modern gaming. I feel spoiled now going back to other open world games.
I'm with Mark, about the cars, can't stop desert racing the ATV's Motorcycles, Sand rails either. Why I can barely stop racing to shoplift a bag of chips and rob the fool liquor store. I now suppose I need the next GTA to feature drive thru liquor stores you can rob without leaving your ride..lol
He mentioned the GETO BOYS being on the soundtrack, the CLASSIC 'Mind Playing tricks on me',but 1 question...WHY IS IT PLAYED ON THE "WEST COAST CLASSICS" radio station?!?Geto Boys are from HOUSTON!I'm a hip-hop nerd, just had to vent that VERY minor gripe!lol
the Vectrex is an early game console that used vector graphics made by GCE and later Milton Bradley, unlike most consoles it had a screen built right in instead of being hooked into a TV. It was a bit of a commercial failure. Interestingly, the built in game, MineStorm, crashed at level 13 except for some machines, gotta wonder why that is.
Do they still have the WWII plane in this? My favorite thing in the first San Andreas was getting the Rustler (P-40), strafing the military base, and then shooting down the fighter jets. P-40 Warhawk vs. Harrier GR-1, only in GTA!
I was wondering if you were going to do a review of Killer is Dead. I believe the game was unfairly beaten down by the main stream gaming media just because it was different. I love the enthusiam you have in your reviews. Please give everyone your opinion of the game if at all possible.
True. I didn't really mess around at all until I beat the game though. I have OCD, so I can't get distracted by exploration until the story is complete lol
I do not care about the game enough to play it for 16 hours but when I got it (for 360) I saw how much an Xbox and PS3 can still churn out. I am sure the reason the game is so graphically good is because its the first time a game requires a large install. In case of 360, if they started mandatory installs and made more games on 2 disks they'd have many more games perform much better than they did, but I think Xbox was contractually bound to make all games playable from disk directly.
Upgrading weapons is really cheap though, I always have more money than I really need for that. I'm on my 2nd playthrough, and I'm almost to the FIB building Heist, and I have 2 heli pads, pretty much all the weapons, fully upgraded with shitloads of ammo, pimped cars for all characters, and some property.
All hail the mighty El Camino ! (great stuff! I was laughing hard in part 1 where your sole mission was to collect El Caminos.) What do you call a group of El Caminos? - A mullet convention. :D
Even after the first heist, it seems to be a waste of money to buy a helipad since upgrading weapons is the best way to spend your money during the first like 60% of the game
can one character meet the other actually? Or arent they in the game unless you switch to them? (i mean outside story missions). You know, drive over franklin as another character :D
Quite the contrary, many statistics say that violent video games are usually what makes people AVOID being violent and we are able to release our stress on a video game than in real life.
I haven't bought it yet, I'm waiting for my birthday (Wednesday), but it's gonna feel funny to be running around that airbase without a magic grappling hook as I spent a lot of hours playing JUST CAUSE 2 this summer and have gotten used to the idea that, if a military helicopter is shooting at me, I can just target it, latch on to it with the grappling hook, shoot that one guy and throw the pilot out of the chopper to steal it.
The Imponte Ruiner! Half 80s Camaro, half 80s Trans Am. Got mine immediately but some ass hat in a not-Prius clipped my fender. Need to get that fixed...
loved the review mark! although, im not gonna get GTA 5 (if not for a very long time, i just dont like the modernised versions of gta, i feel they lost their fun when they went into 3d. and just became a thing of technical acheivement and less about fun)
Now i know where all that cocaine from vice city ended up thanks mark (:
Why is Mark so obsessed with El Camino's!!!????
Uncle Venom04 The question is, why aren't you?
because mark's favorite car was el camino.
B U damn you took the words straight out of my mouth

Lol! That crazy look in his eyes
I wonder if anyone has seen Mark since GTA: Online came out? The mode where you basically CAN live a second life.
"I'm not playing the storyline at all, I'm just going crazy!"
Brilliant.
I miss old cgr
same
I love this channel it's like Regular Car Reviews but for games
Grand Theft Auto 5 is possibly the greatest game of all time
*Is the greatest game

But still not better than gmod
Ocarina of time. Shadow of the colossus. Castlevania symphony of the night
+Fin Cantillon (ProfessorSheep1) nothing compared to gta
Mark you make the most enjoyable reviews keep 'em coming cheers.

Nothing like watching a CGR review so fresh the thumbnail hasn't even been created!
your reviews makes me forget about the graphics and all about frames per second, textures, etc and i start to enjoy my gameplay, thanks a lot
The beginning remind me you and Dave back in 1999, Mark.
It was about time, thank you

I love the fact that Mark is actually the only one to mass murder in a GTA review.
Do they still have the WWII plane in this? My favorite thing in the first San Andreas was getting the Rustler (P-40), strafing the military base, and then shooting down the fighter jets.
P-40 Warhawk vs. Harrier GR-1, only in GTA!
5:32 did you shoot Santa Monica's pier with missiles?

It is insane that Mark was producing at this level 10 years ago... 98% of RUclips still hasn't caught up.
I laughed my ass off at the begging! Way to go! This review was informative!
I recently sought out an antique video game museum after watching this guy's videos. Fun stuff, fun video!
you are by far the greatest reviewer on RUclips, thanks
Man, I gotta get this! I guess the price will fall a bit when the next geb versions come out.
the first two minutes were the best minutes i have ever spent watching a review.
One of the best game of all time
same man, I've never been this addicted to a game before
Mark! You're crazy!!!! God bless you brother! Long live to CGR!!!!!!!
Mark your voice is like music to my ears.Amazing game and amazing review. All i need now is a PC release.
Did I mention there are El Kamino's in this game?
Mark, you are a nut. Especially the After Burner reference.
get a jetplane and it feels like an arcade game.
BEST CGR REVIEW OF THE YEAR!
And no, I don't mean it for GTA V - I mean the review in ITSELF.
Will you do another review of GTAO when that comes out? I sure hope so!
I was the whole review wondering if you could kill people with the helicopter's blades. That was great.
You can
You and angry Joe are the only reviewers I trust you rock
This is the best review I've watched in a long time lol.
This must be a really good game if mark is reviewing it so soon
mark has excellent taste in beers. lagunitas brews are some of the best around
True. I didn't really mess around at all until I beat the game though. I have OCD, so I can't get distracted by exploration until the story is complete lol
Damn, I want that mug.
The Technoclast you got a lot of subscribers
Best intro you ever did Mark, amazing.
Good review too!
Cant help but wonder what that beer was?
Gosh, his mentioning of El Caminos makes me want to get one in GTA Online.... *WHAT R U UP 2!?!?!?
I do not care about the game enough to play it for 16 hours but when I got it (for 360) I saw how much an Xbox and PS3 can still churn out. Try the car websites. There's often cars on there that don't spawn on the roads.
Where the hell did you find that Trans Am? I can't find it anywhere in the game and it's never spawned on the street.
Yeah, but a helipad is pretty cheap, and you can get one after like, the first heist, or for free if you go to trevors, and it saves a lot of time.
You know, if you buy a helipad, and land it there, it will always respawn at your helipad right?
Is there El Caminos in the game?
Michael Chowtee nope
i think you can do that in red faction and mercenaries 2. The saboteur is another great game with a lot of destruction.
i weekened, i just went out and got this game for my ps3, thanks CGR for an exelent review :)
I discovered this channel when they made a review about GTA IV!
LOL Mark going AngryJoe!
This was a lot of fun to watch! Those first few minutes were... intense! xD
Since there are no actually officially licensed vehicles in this game. Could those hybrid type El Caminos really be more Ford Rancheros?.. O-o
They still have the design of a 1962 El Camino more than anything.
The two disks, do you change the disk at a certain point of the story or when you visit a certain portion of the map.
xD Mark you always this buzzed and stoned?
I need to get a few of those mugs.
I hope some of dlc will be for single player and not only be focused on multiplayer
All hail the mighty El Camino ! (great stuff! I was laughing hard in part 1 where your sole mission was to collect El Caminos.) What do you call a group of El Caminos? - A mullet convention. :D
Alcohol, robots, awesomness, games and being bonkers - welcome to CGR!
Great choice of beer. Lagunitas is the best!
Your voice is epic, love it! And nice intro
Even after the first heist, it seems to be a waste of money to buy a helipad since upgrading weapons is the best way to spend your money during the first like 60% of the game
yeah i know im 6 years late but great review!
can one character meet the other actually? Or arent they in the game unless you switch to them? (i mean outside story missions). You know, drive over franklin as another character :D
My hope for the DLC is that they'll give us new characters to play as who's stories will intertwine with the main story just like in GTA IV.
you sir have the best job ever!
Lovely game, one of the best games for the ps3/xbox gen ever :D
and that concludes Mark's awesome review :)
Quite the contrary, many statistics say that violent video games are usually what makes people AVOID being violent and we are able to release our stress on a video game than in real life.
Mark is going to vote an El Camino to president in 2016!
We love you Mark.
Hey Mark do you listen to the Geto Boys? Or have you just heard of them?
I haven't bought it yet, I'm waiting for my birthday (Wednesday), but it's gonna feel funny to be running around that airbase without a magic grappling hook as I spent a lot of hours playing JUST CAUSE 2 this summer and have gotten used to the idea that, if a military helicopter is shooting at me, I can just target it, latch on to it with the grappling hook, shoot that one guy and throw the pilot out of the chopper to steal it.
I love maxing out cars at LS Customs and storing it in my garage, never to be driven again lol.
The Imponte Ruiner! Half 80s Camaro, half 80s Trans Am. Got mine immediately but some ass hat in a not-Prius clipped my fender. Need to get that fixed...
awesome review mark! keep it up
I'm still waiting for PC version :( And I'm looking forward to download an actual El Camino mod.
"How do you fold this map" hahahaha
loved the review mark!
although, im not gonna get GTA 5 (if not for a very long time, i just dont like the modernised versions of gta, i feel they lost their fun when they went into 3d. and just became a thing of technical acheivement and less about fun)
Best reviewer by far
i installed the 2nd disc, theres a little bit of wonkey stuff, but you barely even notice it.
"Im not playing the story line at all Im just going crazy"; hahaha , Mark you are the best
I just beat this game and I swear I have been watching the credits for 30 min. now. It never ends!
if you made a video of you playing this game for an hour, i would SO WATCH IT.
Hahaha Mark, more reviews like this. You are wild!
...I think we were all thinking the same thing about the helicopter at 6:08 ;)
Man I loved this review sooooo muuuuccchhhh I gotta get this game.
What kind of intergalactic space arcade has grass and a parked car outside the window
Being a god never gets boring, but I still get where you're coming from. GTA is the better game, but Saints Row is more entertaining imo.
Simulated Grass in the intergalactic space arcade?
Can't wait for online mode. I just bought this game a few days ago it rules. If I had a game to pick to live in this would be it.
Great review, as always.
"16 hours" Mark people have been playing this game for 7 fucking years it's crazy
So a separate review for GTA Online?
I think I have the same microphone for my recording setup.
did mark ever finish that beer? :)
Mark: Becoming Trevor
