What to do with thick and thin(moti patli) tablet. When ever i run zestoretic on my BB4 Compression machine. Every time i face this thick and thin tablet issue. Maybe die is not filling properly bcz of powder's nature.
Bevelled edge means an inclined edge; one not at 90 degrees.The flat faced tablet design suffered from weak tablet edges because of powder leakage at the punch tip die wall interface. Weak edges were prone to chipping and excessive friability. So adding a beveled edge to the tooling was very simple for the tooling machinist to do and allowed for the formulation powder to be pushed back to the center of the die - making for stronger tablet edges. This design however has a disadvantage - punch weakness. The lack of cup depth can limit the compressive force. Leading to soft tablet edge. deep bevelled punches causes capping due to lack in compression force because that can lead to bending of punch tip and its distortion
@@thepharmaguidechannel I think bevelled edge give sufficient space to tablet to get relaxed... In case of normal punch tablet is not able to relax properly after removal of shear stress which leads to capping
It is due to free rotation of the punches, which have some engraving on the punch faces. the punch rotates and lower punch freely drops and travels uncontrolled for a short distance (punch tablet twice) before riding up the ejection cam to push the tablet out of the die, punch may make a new impression on the bottom of the tablet, resulting in Double Impression
