- September 8, 1996 - As film critic of the local cable show "Brothers in the Balcony," Robert becomes unpopular when he gives a thumbs down to a prominent black filmmaker's new movie because of his consistently negative portrayal of African-Americans. Meanwhile, Zaria dates her opinionated classmate Shakim (Nigel Thatch).

Wow this wasn’t the news I was expecting to see in the comments. Such a beautiful and elegant woman 😭
When Nicholas was like "N***a Please" 😂
Shakim looks like A Young Version of Malcolm X
Brandon Woodard he played him recently i forgot what it was in tho 😂
That was the point of casting him
@@sirsylk He played in the movie Selma

🤣😂
After that kid said the N-word, I thought he was going to be dead meat.
"It was nice meeting you Kunta." 💀🤣🤣
I died 😂😂😂😂😂
I've been wondering for years if the filmmaker in this episode supposed to be John Singleton: black filmmaker who makes films about the hard life of blacks but grew up well off.
EponineForever I wondering if he was talking about John Singleton or the Hughes brothers.
or maybe mario van peebles and the movie was new jack city
RIP John singleton 😔
Or maybe he was talking about Spike Lee, Hudlin Bros. or F. Gary Gray
So because he grew up “well off” he isn’t allowed to highlight the racism and classism poor Black Ppl go through?
It's Mel Jackson, he played Norman Whitfield in the Temptations movie, and he later was in the Little Richard movie directed Robert Townsend.
Yea, thats not mel jackson
Marquis Harris but it was Mel jackson
soul food too
I fuckin loved this show as a kid. It’s so underrated. No one talks about it anymore.
Wendell was a grimey friend alot of times but he was funny as hell

You guys need to monetize this series on RUclips and start making your coins back. Great show!
Well well well if It isn't Malcolm X-tra light skin lol
