Thank you for making this segment on Arima. I have not been back home over 16 years. It brought back wonderful memories. You covered most places that i grew up at, until i left home. I climbed that hill a couple times a year growing up. I also went to Girls RC and attended Santa Rosa church as i grew into an adult. The Dial in the heart of Arima, saw it everyday and matched those street durung carnival. The market place is were my family and my father Rafic sold watercress from Friday to Sunday whiles my brother's and sister including myself sold other vegetables outside the market. My family were farmer and very proud of it. I really appreciated your videos, it down to earth and you keep it real. P.s This is my husband's account and he also attended Holy Cross College.
Bro thanks so much for these videos because I learning so much about my country and even learning to appreciate it. There’s so much I didn’t know and quite frankly I didn’t care but now I starting to care. Thanks again bro ! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Arima Calvary Hill needs to be refurbished to a nicer park with proper facilities, Picnic tables, Lookout decks, telescopes, toilets, walking paths, security, etc. and similar to La Vie Paramin or San Fernando Hill.
Agreed, this was my first time here and I passed it straight twice, ended up getting info some those dudes liming by the shop…but the views were amazing
It was an absolute joy watching this vlog thank you. Love the fact that you did some gr8 research about Arima. Just love your vlogs continued blessings to you.
Wow! I've lived in Arima since I was 7 and I've never gone past the town. I'm writing a story set in Arima and I know that I have to eventually go out and explore to get familiar with places. This video has given me great ideas on where to start!
My old hometown Calvary Hill, Arima. The old building is our old Community Center not a house. The new one is lower down from the Holy Cross College. Thanks for the bringing back some gr8 memories for me. Welcome, welcome to Arima.
You connect me back to my childhood. I live in the states now and I use to frequently go through Arima to go to school in Curepe. I miss it. Thanks! Great video as usual.
Rajeev, you are one of the BEST RUclipsrs in Trinidad & Tobago! Your content is always very informative and fun! I wish you all the best and hope your channel grows to over a million subscribers! Blessings...
Great video Rajeev you are a fantastic Tour Guide I must say Arima is a Beautiful Town with History I love the market everything looks so fresh and nice the food looks delicious thanks for sharing cheers from Orlando ❤️✌️
Amazing tour of Arima's history! Most people who aren't from Arima don't realize how great Arima is. From a stadium to a velodrome(same sporting centres that have produced some of our Olympians), to hills of flora and fauna, to a bustling town centre, home to Bunji Garlin, Shurwayne Winchester amongst others, I love it. Also, was the Amerindian park closed off? It would've been great if you got a closer view of the statue of warrior Hyarima and shared his story because he was integral in protecting the first peoples against the Europeans. Regardless, great video!
Trinbago thanks for hi lighting my town. I was born right in that corner house behind your back across from where you bought the doubles. Where they sell doubles is the Thompson residence. Mr Alfred Thompson was a Mayor and owner of BATA shoe store.
Nice video..... enjoyed. Has the Chief of the first people's statue also lower down by the hospital side/ velodrome..... alot of history here in arima...... continue the good work buddy..... 💯💯
Doubles like RAIN in Trinidad- every block must have a doubles stand🤣 That's so good! Thank you for showcasing so, so many areas of TnT. I enjoy watching your videos, keep it up💯
Hey guys last night I told you all that does always go up calvary hills will am from TOCO and I now came up there just when to smell the fresh air real good
Nice informative video once again. I will check out some of those food spots. The doublesman infront of the market under the red umbrella is good and $5 still. I'm not too sure about Calvary Hill though lol
Serious, I think if they spend a little funds they can convert the lookout into a rel tourist spot, paid parking by the church when there isn’t anything cuz that view is amazing at the top
Vibes nice to see you in my home grounds, you better than me I have never visited the cannon 😆 🤣. Hope you explore more on Arima in future vlogs. Interesting fact the Borough of Arima is the only in the Americas with a Royal charter. A bit surprised this is not highlighted, maybe due to the colonial history causes a distaste in some? You should consider a vlog on the Amerindian heritage centre, the chief is my cousin I can put in a word. Keep it coming.
Yup, in 1888 it became a royal borough, was suppose to incorporate that in this one, but next one for sure and yeah will look into Amerindian heritage around 1st people day in October (hopefully)…btw it was fun to be in your home grounds, had a lot more footage but some got corrupted and well I had the wrong settings on others 🙈😅
