Yeah MHP is a joke. Just cause HE runs a museum he won’t give a value. Idk why rick won’t tell him what he usually tells the customers which is “I GOTTA MAKE MONEY”
Yeah he's always got an interesting story, but in the context of what this show is actually supposed to be about he's no help whatsoever. Rick always just ends up guessing (aka lowballing) and the seller has no idea what he really has.
Better name suggestions for the show: *What Do We Have Here?* *Let Me Call a Buddy* *Taking a Huge Risk* *Not a Penny More!* *I Have To Frame It* *Like the Holy Grail*
Rick didn't bring the second guy in when he needed an expert because he knew he'd give it an actual value in front of the customer. Customer probably would've asked for 2k, and it would've been negotiated down to probably ~$1300 at the most. Rick saved himself hundreds of bucks by doing this.
That's not true. Rick had called Mark to look at railroad passenger cars from the 1930s and Mark said that the cars were with either $1 million each or together, I don't remember which
I don’t know why they call this guy when they need a price. He’s a historian, not an antiques dealer. He’ll tell you exactly what it is and where it’s from and that but he doesn’t tend to know how much they’re worth.
@Gappie Al Kebabi it varies a bit for some, but mostly it's bald eagles screeching, flags waving, the National Anthem, and the Apocalypse Now soundtrack.
The B-24 Liberator bomber was manufactured by Consolidated Aircraft, not Douglas. Hard to believe this guy is the CEO of a company dealing with military antiques and didn’t know that.
Every pawn stars episode be like: 1. Person comes in with item 2. Rick geeks out about it, gives a lot of cool info and is excited about the item 3. Calls in an "expert", which usually says the item is worth a good amount 4. Rick offers less than a quarter of what the item is worth
1:06 Expert #1: “naval plane…probably…Mark 15”. (Mark 15 is a torpedo). Sells $1,000. 2:35 Post Sale Expert #2: “bomber…B-17…B-24”. 4:12 Then says “mark 16”
Rick! You tricked the poor guy.. The expert didn't tell how much ita worth like they always do.And that dumb head didn't did any research on the price or its history significance..
Most pawn shops don't value the stuff in front of the customer. To do so would put them outta business so fast. Experts aren't free a deal will walk to the next store than wait for your buddy. There's good reason they pay as little as they do
Navy? I didn't think the Navy flew bombers. Only Navy bomb mission I know of is the Doolittle Raid and that was never repeated. The Navy used mostly fighters.
He knew what he was doing getting mark to come in first cause he obviously expected it to be worth way more and just wanted to confirm it was legit at least it wasn't worth 15 grand or something
No one is forcing people to SELL to a PAWNSHOP they can always decline the offer and take it somewhere else but they still took the money. You don't go to a pawn shop for top dollar price on the thing that your selling you go to a pawnshop to get money fast educate yourself people!
U realise since he didn't kno what he wanted for it....rick never ask how much it's worth ....but wen u say what ur looking for out of it ...the person who's giving the appraisal always round it off at what the person was looking for
Seller "I don't know what it's worth"
Rick "Well then....... Let me call my buddy who won't give us a price"
And then after the sale he calls the buddy who gives him a price :D.
Yeah MHP is a joke. Just cause HE runs a museum he won’t give a value. Idk why rick won’t tell him what he usually tells the customers which is “I GOTTA MAKE MONEY”
Lol
David K Rick should've called Mark and Alex at the same time, at least the seller had an idea regarding the market value of his rare WWII bombsite.
Lol
"Lemme call a guy that will not give you any idea of it's actual retail price."
Yeah he's always got an interesting story, but in the context of what this show is actually supposed to be about he's no help whatsoever. Rick always just ends up guessing (aka lowballing) and the seller has no idea what he really has.
@@Dr.TJ_Eckleburg I guess most sellers at the pawn shop buy it for less and Rick knows that.
Yeah I can’t stand MHP
He needs to know if it is legit first. Not all appraisers are authenticators. An appraisal is worthless if you dont verify it is real first.
Mike Butler clearly. But we’re saying the seller got cheated.
I always think that when Rick says "Sweet" it means he would have paid more if he had been pushed a bit.
No it mean he will double or triple the value later 😂
bic papermate it seem he wanted to laugh when he said it, that’s why he just kept looking down
I've noticed Rick never looks at them when he shakes their hands. He looks away
Rick: ‘This is incredibly rare and there’s a huge market for it’
Also rick: ‘This is going to sit on my shelve for months cut me a break’
Drinking game : Take a shot everytime Mark wears a red shirt
you just noticed that?
But it’s only one shot per episode and he only occasionally cameos. I don’t think anyone can even get drunk off this game👎
I think that's his uniform 😂
@@demi8457 No, he wears it while off duty too. All the time.
I’m colourblind.. what’s the joke?
Why didn't Rick call the guy that actually gave an estimate market price when the customer was in? That is kind of shady.
You can't trust anyone that comes in on this show. Best bet is it do their own research and counter properly.
@@Rockito456 Patton is the real deal tho , he's the one to trust
@@TheTrooperMB the Japanese katana expert too.
Rick should brought second guy to appraise bombsight in front of guy
Exactly. At least transparency was present.

That's business

The irony of Life is I can't find myself growing up but seeing Rick & Cena getting old!
This show is binge worthy especially with Rebecca in it
Simp
It gets boring after a couple vids until a while later
pretty sure the most popular character is Chumlee, at least imo he makes the show xD
sauwor another idiotic teenager who throws the word simp around when they don’t even know what it means
Rebecca doesn't shave her beaver.

Rick: “Let me look around this thing so I look like an expert”
Rick: "I might actually keep it then." Old Man's ghost: "Ricky goddammit, what did I tell you and Corey about keeping stuff??
Rick didn't bring the second guy in when he needed an expert because he knew he'd give it an actual value in front of the customer. Customer probably would've asked for 2k, and it would've been negotiated down to probably ~$1300 at the most. Rick saved himself hundreds of bucks by doing this.
Of course he did! But the the offer was fair and cash in hand. He could've called no expert, and tried to get it for $300 bucks.
Let me call a guy who doesn’t do appraisals to bring in a guy that does appraisals right after
Haha shady move
That's not true. Rick had called Mark to look at railroad passenger cars from the 1930s and Mark said that the cars were with either $1 million each or together, I don't remember which

Coz it's the history channel who pays for his presence.. even has a red uniform
He authenticates that it is not a fabrication or knock off. The price is irrelevant.
@@StevenHanoverso why do they always ask him how much it’s worth then? 😂
The word 'iconic' is so iconic.

Omg thank god they took that music out at the end
:D got pieces missing, oh yeah missing the big part - like a plane :D
I’m going to start walking like Rick at the beginning of the video when I’m about to make a deal.

Wow, to be able to tell because of where the wear and tear is, to be able to differentiate what type of plane it was on 👍
Salt water corrosion means naval aviation. Army Air Forces bombers that made it back to base intact never spent much time exposed to salt water.
1:06 Expert #1: “naval plane…probably…Mark 15”.
(Mark 15 is a torpedo). Sells $1,000. 2:35 Post Sale Expert #2: “bomber…B-17…B-24”.

My grandfather was a b17 pilot!
Rick: How much do you want for this?
Not sure, why don't we look at the price tag.
2:38 "The B-24 by Douglas...." Well the B-24 was actually made by Consolidated
My favorite expert.
Found this to be educational
Wait Mark runs an aviation museum? How many museums does this guy run...
Two legit experts in one clip.
And rick still managed to lowball the guy
B-24 was not built by Douglas, it was built by Consolidated Aircraft.
Ricks laugh made me put a mask on in real life 😷
2nd Appraiser: yada yada yada it’s rare
Rick: that’s crazy 😳
Mr.RICK do you have a private museum ? , if you do have it, i hope i can start to study all about historical item. Thanks

Fact: U.S Air Force members in WW2 were instructed to fire a bullet in the bombsight, so Germany and Japan couldn’t copy the advanced technology

We now know that whenever you sell anything to a pawn shop, just care enough to know the actual worth of it before making a deal.
It's not guaranteed to sell for 2500 dollars and there is overhead he has to factor in so he's not going off into the night like a thief exactly.
