@coachd13 you have so many guys fighting for 4th line time Beecher, Kastilic, Jones will be on that list and who else could slip down looking for minutes from top 9. I'm really gunning for McLaughlin to make it in this lineup, him being signed again gives me hope for that. Scored a goal in the only game he played for us this past season.
@@FempyBoibut let's also remember he lost two seasons at Boston college and one in the AHL because of the panicdemic... He's lost a major chunk of time in his development. I want to see what this hometown Billerica boy can bring. When he had his chance on a really crappy Boston college team, he exploded... Team leader against All odds. He's undrafted. These guys are different, they come & go in the league, develop on their own timing. Torey Krug was another undrafted one you might remember... I wouldn't normally say this about a player with his stats - but he doesn't have any! There are plenty of good ufas out there, potential pto's the Bruins wouldn't bring him back if he wasn't worth developing - they must see something in him & also want to go after that Calder Cup I hope McLaughlin gets a breakout season this year - he's been sitting on the sidelines long enough. Let's see what he's got.
@TheFoolintherainn great work! No absolutely, what I said was a compliment. He showed up on a bad performing team. I think this guy could be a fantastic 4th/3rd liner. The fact he is a massachusetts native is also awesome. And he has a great face haha.
I am seeing a much stronger defense corps that can easily be paired with a big defensive guy and a puck mover. In addition, they can fix the Mac problem that so many wrote about around the playoffs (ie Is he hurt, etc, etc...). So, adding Zaddy fixed a problem and set the table for 3 great pairings. Also, this should get HLindholm on track, which would be a bonus. I'd have Zaddy with Mac, but on power plays, I'd have Mac with Lohrei. Adding ELindholm will improve slotting across the top three lines, making others more effective. In addition, it puts another key faceoff guy in there. Note: Beach and Kasty are also above average faceoff guys which is a big deal in both ends, particularly in tight situations. Adding toughness is a dynamic that will spread and give confidence to the team. Just look at how they waned a bit after Lucic departed. The 2nd line RW thing is no big deal...they'll get 20+ from that position individually or collectively, which is more than DeBrusk left with, and they came in bunches. Perhaps the most exciting dynamic to come is watching players- from Providence -slot in and do it. Braz and Wotherspoon are great examples. And they have some big guys to slot in who have upside.
I agree with you on DeBrusk. I wanted him to stay really bad. People don't realize how hard he works. I have much faith in Sway. Every younger player is a gamble. Even if he doesn't improve at all, we are fine. If he gets better, we are better than fine. Our goalie coaching is the global elite. The only way Sway is going is up. He doesn't get hurt, he doesn't get mad, he doesn't give a fuck. He's the Donald Trump of goaltending. Teflon Swayman. He improves his play all the time. His rebound control was bad until the second half of this year and into playoffs. This is the youngest team we've had in 10+ years. This also a much bigger and heavier team. Sweeney gave us what we asked for. Let's be honest. He filled a lot of holes and I'm impressed. This will not be the same team we've been seeing for quite some time.
How bad has sways lows been. I remember ullmark was pulling his weight prior to playoffs when swayman wasn't on it. But I don't remember the severity. Minus playoffs, does the team play better with sway or ullmark in net you think?
1) Agree 100% about Swayman. 2) DeBrusk wasn’t happy in Boston. Wanted back in Canada. He needed to go. 3) Agree about Lysell/Geeke. Players like Lysell are high risk high reward. We put up with high risk Pasta and Marchy we should give more leeway to Lysell. 4) I think our D will be our biggest strength. 5) Toughness matters. Panthers knocked Marchand out of the series and Pasta did nothing after the Tkachuk fight. We relied on our skilled players to fend for themselves. Bottom line is on the last 10 years we got knocked out of the playoffs by tougher teams. Our last cup was won because of toughness. Playoff hockey hasn’t changed that much since then.
Are the roster spots pretty much locked or is there a chance for some stud wildcard to emerge in the top lines? This is a newish Bruins team. Is the one Pasternak line capable of carrying while the youth settle in?
Lowqual! What’s up brother? Missed the past couple of videos (working). I got a question that I’m lost on. I just looked at the B’s roster ( with the new adds and minuses). I noticed that “Lucic” is still on the roster. Is he on the team going to play and if not, wouldn’t that be taking up a roster spot as well as getting paid?
I agree Jake was a big loss. Aside from production he was key on puck possession. He was a digger. But it’s water under the bridge. Looking towards the new wave, do you think Boston would be better this coming season (compared to last season) without Swayman? Don’t really want to go there, but Boston org is not a stranger to shedding talent.
Maybe Sweeney tried to sign him but Swayman's agent preferred to wait. No agent should want to sign a deal when his client is not performing up to regular standard.
It would be the opposite - Jeremy has an extremely aggressive agent and an even more aggressive father Lewis Gross, Jeremy's agent also represented Nylander on his recent $92 million Toronto contract. Which many think is an overpayment. I don't know them personally, but both his agent and father's business practices are well known- they are relentless & effective. I had a feeling when Jeremy demanded arbitration last season, he might regret not saving it for later, when the money & starting goalie position really counted during his prime. And he's not in his prime yet. I won't get specifics, but he's not. part of me thinks he's taking on the NHL overall, the NHL players union is pushing for higher salaries because the profits are getting crazy and players aren't making anything compared to team owners. That's a whole nother topic I don't think he deserves what he's asking at this point of his career, yet respect his taking on the nhl, like a musician taking on the music industry. But no, his agent is not sitting back thinking Jeremy isn't worth 8 million or more not Louie Gross! And certainly not his dad.
@@TheFoolintherainn If your client was having a down spell would you not opt to wait it out in the hopes that he can turn his game around? With Swaymans playoff performance, waiting to sign a deal looks like a stroke of genius on the part of the agent if that was the case. Fact of the matter is none of us know what truly goes on in these negotiations so maybe Sweeney tried to sign him in February when his game was slipping a bit but the agent turned down the offer.
