As a general reply cos multiple people mentioned "piu" - like i said its not technically wrong but most hk people will say "fei" instead. @@tracy_5577 It actually depends on where one's family is from. Due to historical reasons, the majority of Hong Kong people are immigrants from Mainland China. These people are from different backgrounds. There are Shanghainese, Hokkien, Teochew, Hakka, and Cantonese. Likewise, the people of Guangdong are made up of three major groups, the Cantonese, the Teochew, and the Hakka, so even though these people have Cantonese as their mother tongue, they are still more or less influenced by the accent of the older generation in their family. the thing about cantonese used nowadays is that it's informal and quite casual. mandarin is spoken with the same structure and vocabulary as formal cantonese, and informal cantonese uses words with slightly different contexts than mandarin, so sometimes cantonese speakers who speak a lot of both cantonese and mandarin may be a little unsure of when to use formal cantonese or not

omg can you please make another one?!
My Cantonese kings.💕
I like how the title says 'Lucas Hendery XJ' when they're the ones who ... already speak Canto ... 😂
love hearing them speak canto and mandarin. no longer need those subtitles
aghhhhhh 😭 I'm so happy I don't need subs for once! 😂 but I'm CBC so even some stuff goes over my head LOLOL
Can anyone of them even speak completely in one language anymore?
I doubt it. Truly
Man cantonese is such a nice language and when people say it
it makes them sound nicer than mandarin
(im not being rude or anything but I speak chinese and mandarin just has a harsher tone to it :/)
I’ve heard people compare it to a song because of how many tones and intonations there are and it makes me really proud to be a canto speaker haha
omg though i speak both and I've always thought canto was such a crass language 😂 just because it's so slang-y in every day use and in mando we speak it how we write it, so it's just more polite in general... it's funny how different people hear differently though!
i finally don’t need subtitles to understand 😭
multilingual kings
I will never get over that ig filter on lucas and how he didn't even flinch 😂
at this point idk what language lucas speaks fluently in anymore 😂
those times when you can't even speak properly
edit :
wayv : at a cantonese interview
lucas who is a native cantonese speaker : YO WHAT'S UP LADIES
this is so funny to watch. i grew up speaking both mandarin and cantonese so I understand everything, it's so funny when they just randomly incorporate both into one sentence cause I do the same when talking to my family and don't even realize LMAO
I fell in love with Kpop idols who can speak Cantonese now.
it kinda feels nice them talking in conto cuz like i learnt conto when I was born cuz im hk ppl so ya it feels nice
Winwin's tones are good!!
Hey btw in there video with hello82 for the language thing
they said that lucas Hendery Xiaojun speak canto when they are by themselves so you right
Oh gosh i’m hollering at that vanilla thing with dejun😭🤣🤣
xiaojun speaks Cantonese like a native omg *ps im a native Cantonese speaker myself
Winwin and Kun have good canto! I don't know why but Lucas's canto makes me lol! Struggles of having to switch between so many languages
not me here in the middle of my online lesson 😭
Bro ten and yang yangs pronunciation is pretty good 👏👏
Multilingual kings🙂
I’m from hk and this is so relatable lmao. we always mix english and cantonese when we speak
Yes true thats what i heard from hongkong dramas/movies 🤣
I have never been so grateful that i live in hong kong 😋
I wanna see wayv on tvb smh like in an interview or smth
I grew up watching HK drama and at one point i can understand without even reading much of the subtitles. Then transition to anime, then to kdrama. Now i barely remember any Cantonese. Lol
a lot of the time i don’t even realize they are switching because i speak (native) english and chinese and also understand canto since i grew up the same province hendery and xj did lmao it feels like the same language though it’s literally three
the thing about cantonese used nowadays is that it's informal and quite casual. mandarin is spoken with the same structure and vocabulary as formal cantonese, and informal cantonese uses words with slightly different contexts than mandarin, so sometimes cantonese speakers who speak a lot of both cantonese and mandarin may be a little unsure of when to use formal cantonese or not
lucas' accent somehow doesn't sound very local to me but hendery def sounds like he walked outta macau/hk. and xiaojun u can tell he's not from hk or macau or southeast asia, and sounds like he's from mainland/guangdong
1:06 what a duality of huang guanheng.
i really wonder what language lucas thinks in
4:09 i think the chinese subs were right though? lucas only says "no, fold a plane" in canto, and the sentence after that is in mandarin and correctly subtitled
(nvm i saw u responded to someone else down there LOL)
I have a friend who live in Taiwan but speak Canto like he is born in Hong Kong. And he is a born Malaysian Chinese so he speak Mandarin and Malay fluently. I don't even know what is his main language anymore.😂 I asked him before, what language was he thinking with and he said he was confused most of the time.😂 Another question that I asked him made me feel like an idiot was if he dream in Chinese and he said 'I dream about your language.'😆 well, my language is very different from Malay so I was weirded out by that.😂
the forst thing i noticed was newyear in the live. Im shocked
The problem for Lucas Hendery and Xiaojun is the written text Xiaojun Simplified Chinese Cantonese PRC while Lucas and Hendery use Traditional Chinese text for Cantonese HKG and Macau. In the case of Lucas and Hendery Yangyang can simply reply to them in Tradtional Chinese Taiwan-spoken mandarin while the latter two use Traditional Chinese Cantonese. To make it easy on NCT Mainland China Taiwan and Hong Kong Line they should be using Traditional Chinese Taiwan text just like how Lucas's local airline Cathay Pacific simply uses Traditional Chinese Taiwan on their website and Aeroplanes.
i’m not a fan of wayv, but when i heard them speak cantonese, i felt comfortable. it’s not often when you hear kpop idols speak cantonese. the second clip when hendery? i think ask what yang yang? wanted to learn really hits me because that how i am too when teaching others cantonese 😂
yangyang just sitting there like 👁👄👁
Not me nodding my head like I understand what they’re saying 💀🤚🏾
