When my cat first saw and heard a hummingbird on our balcony, she thought it was a bug. When she saw it sit and look around, she thought it was a bird. This made her confused. When she was a 2 month old kitten, she could barely croak or squeak, so I was her speech therapist and taught her many words. These days, she says many words, but not as many as she knows. She says "Buh! Buh!" for bug, and a trilling "Br-r-r-r-r-r-r" for bird. Not knowing what to call it, I told her it's a bug-a-bird. I like calling it that all the time now. It's a cute name. She can't say it, but if I say it, she wakes up, looks at me, and looks outside.
