Correction. Every kid's dream. Even if they never seen or heard about the show, they'll immediately want that car. That's how I caught onto it when I first heard of the show. It was in the 90s and it was an episode of the Simpsons where Homer was trying to become an inventor. The beginning part had him have a mid life crisis, because he felt like he never accomplished anything great. To cheer him up, they show him a film of all his accomplishments and when that didn't help, the next film was of K.I.T.T. offering to take him on a virtual ride. He would have succeeded if the film strip didn't burn out.
I remember this was the first episode of Knight Rider I ever saw a few years ago. I'm 14 and I absolutely love this show, regardless of the time period it came out.

Wrong, it isn't the Season 2 car, look at K.I.T.T's voice modulator at the steering wheel, it's got too many indicator lights (10), Season 2 only had 8. Season 2 also had a different license plate, had the month in the corner, Season 3 removed this altogether. Trying to be too clever lol.
Hernam Tirado More like “CHiPs” and as Fritis has said, “The Dukes of Hazzard”. KR had a fair amount of stunt work, but quite a lot of it was done using miniatures. They couldn’t sustain the costs of jumping & wrecking live-action vehicles on a weekly basis. It was becoming more and more expensive to shoot on-location. The recession of the 1986 wasn’t far off either. That was when these big budget shows were for the chop.
