I am genuinely amazed that we keep finding new Adam matchups that are anything but Jetstream Sam. You wont see me complaining though they are all bangers.

Hello hello It's me (You may remember me from my 3 previous Therewolf Commissions) And I'm very happy to have my first Brandon Yates commission out And it just so happens to be the first Arknights related commission since April 2022, Many thanks to both Brandon and Anthony for the amazing work on the Music as well as iuminous_shadow for the based Track Art (Which NGL I was 100% expecting that the original name was going to be different) I went for Ashes And Retribution for the name because the Retribution is both a reference to their goals and a lyric in Lionize aka Adam's song while the Ashes is a reference to Tallulah's Pyro Arts and that Both seek to Burn the ideals of the world to Ash. Anyway hope y'all enjoy this Epic sounding track as much as I do, oh and I'd eventually be back for my second Brandon commission and it will be Glorious and Trainful lol. Also I always picture this as Them and their respective organizations fighting each other so Adam and The White Fang against Talulah And Reunion
Connections/Theme: (Two Sword wielding Animal Esque leaders of Terror organizations that seek Justice and Retribution against those that have wronged them and to take back what once belonged to their people, Both also have fought one against two fights, Adam fought Yang and Blake while Talulah fought Amyia and Chen, Eventually their respective fights end very very differently since Adam got overwhelmed and was ultimately killed while Talulah managed to push Amyia and Chen to their limits before being defeated and placed under arrest. Both of their fates were different Since Adam died a villain while Talulah was redeemed and eventually became a hero)
I was just talking to someone earlier about my Kuroko vs Hoshiguma commission and then Brandon uploads this one and it really had me thinking of how perfect the timing was. Hope you have a great day, brother

I only started playing Arknights some months ago but I can see the similarities between these two.
Talking about Arknights, I have been thinking of commissioning W (Arknights) vs Jinx (Arcane) because I see a lot of similarities between them too ^^, but I don't know how making a commission to Brandon works since I'm from Latin America so I dont use dollars

@@youngs.9878 Funny, I made Wis'adel (W's new name) VS Jinx a good while back as a match-up. Although I don't know how to help you with the commissioning stuff (all I can say is that I hope you have at least 350 dollars to get the base traco if you somehow find a way to do it), I was already planning on doing my own commission to Yates involving Wis'adel, but against Neopolitan (RWBY), which is another MU I made.

As one of the fewer number of the DB community's Arknights fans, I see this as an absolute win!
same, fun to see AK get some rep, that world is quite intersting. That said, pretty sure Arknights on average stomps RWBY. even Maidens would have a hard time against some of the heavy hitters let alone a Sui Fragment or a powered up Amiya

Okay the track art and the visualizer looks so freaking badass. I don't think i wanna know how many hours this took to make the visualizer, cause never have I seen it done in this style before.
As for the track, it's been a hot minute since we got an Arknights track, and it freaking rocks hard!! Banger job as per usual to the team

A new visualizer format, I like it. For someone the RWBY writers saw as "the worst" Adam sure gets a lot of tracks.

Can't even remember the last time Arknights got featured. Also, how many does that make for Adam ? Because I'm pretty sure he's got quite a few tracks to his record now. Also² that's a cool visualizer even if I don't pay too much mind to those usually.
As always with RWBY tracks I'll admit I was a bit apprehensive because a lot of them are starting to feel redundant to me given they tend to have very similar themings and melodies. However after listening to this one I'm quite happy it follows more so inline with Fangs of Cerberus than it does with "average" RWBY tracks. It's catchy with simple but notable melodies and those are also backed with a lot of power and variation that combine to allow the track to be enjoyable and not to feel stale despite its lack of a "true" leitmotif.
I'll admit that I wish it hinted more so into that raw power and grand scale at points, notably towards the ending starting at 2:57 where it really feels like it wants to go all out but doesn't for some reason, but despite this it's still got everything that makes a really cool track and I appreciate that for sure.
I will also note that I quite like how, similar to its "predecessor", this one doesn't quite feel antagonist to its core. It's something I mention with a lot of tracks but this one certainly has it done notably: sure it's agressive and violent but it doesn't sound evil or something like that. Even has moments that feel quite sad if not borderline upbeat (1:36-2:06) which reinforces that feeling of variation throughout the track that helps it not sound redundant with itself and just generally helps give it more personality. Now of course I still have no idea if it actually fits given I still haven't seen and probably won't ever see RWBY and Arknights is, as far as I understand it, a Gacha game which means it can burn in my opinion (altho you're free to like it of course, especially since from what I've heard its OST is quite nice) but either way that won't stop me from thinking this song is really nice.
Overall this track is a small and appreciable surprise. It's not groundbreaking but it certainly feels nice to have one more song that stands out for RWBY and just in general to have one more nice song as a whole. As said above I have no idea if it fits the characters but I do know that what it has makes it appreciable to the ear via it standing out, having a personality and even if it's not perfect on that side, a very powerful presence to itself and that's all I need to know that I like the song. Amazing job with this as always.

What does the title mean?
The Ashes make reference to Taluhahs flame powers, the Retribution is a reference to the fact both characters believe that humanity has to pay for what was done to their kin.

Ashes could also refer to the Infected in Arknights. When those infected with Orithipathy (the infected) die by it, they sort of wither away into Ash-like particles.

I only started playing Arknights recently and I only saw two Taluhah scenes until now, but I'll kick the bucket and guess that she's the one winning this battle.
-Her group, the Reunion Movement, is larger, more dangerous and way more powerful than Adam's White Fang.
-Like most Arknights characters, Taluhah is infected and her body is constantly in pain thanks to Oripathy, so she might have a better pain tolerance than Adams. In addition, her Oripathy gives her flame manipulation powers.
-Adams semblance can dish out energy he absorbs through his sword but I doubt that would be much of a use since Arknights already starts with the player confronting Taluhah as she's completely destroying a whole city with her group. Then the city is hit by a Catastrophe (, and while the heroes escape so they won't be killed by it, it is implied that Taluhah stayed in the city and watched it's destruction, implying that she can survive a natural disaster.
-She has a Berserk mode during her boss fight, in which she gets faster and stronger when she's with low health.
