I knew this mv was going to be excellent, but I didn't expect it to move we all like this. The tenderness (almost innocence?) between them was so disarming. And then the hopelessness of it all... I was so immersed that I could feel their fear and despair.. V and IU's acting and chemistry are so excellent. I loved the fact that Taehyung was not the stereotypical fearless male lead. That man was terrified (he acted it so well!!) and that made everything, including his moment of bravery, feel even more real.

Correct me if I am wrong but I think IU said she wrote it for her fans. I think it is a sweet commentary of their parasocial relationship. My interpretation is IU is IU and V is Uaena (her fans). The cubes are trolls/ media. In the MV, she is deaf/mute, he is partially blind - it may seem there is no fathomable way these two can understand each other. However, whether separated by language (she cannot hear/speak) or distance (he cannot see), they communicate about sweet memories (about macroons and taking pictures) and laugh much like inside jokes between IU and her fans or photos at fanmeetings. They both have scars of criticism or scandals over the years. At its end the trolls/ media come to consume another artist and fandom and discard it like a pile of clothes and IU is ready to fight but V (the fans) steps in front of her to defend her and their bond, but they are met with a bitter end. A sad reality every artist must face someday. She sheilds V's good eye to protect him from the inevitable. I think she understands the way it is but is happy to set out on the journey with her fans anyway. I think of her lyric "Will you courageously set with me? Destroy me slowly and chilly, ruiner"; OR this is just about her and her boyfriend, and her asking for some privacy, not sure haha.😭😭😭😭

IU is Deaf , Taehyung (V) is one side blinded. Even though they were afraid, they protected each other until the last moment and they stayed together, embracing each other. This blew me away. I don't really follow Tae. I guess I never understand why people said Tae is hot. Idk what their beauty standards are there but he must be the gold standard it seems like. But here..... holy F he is Hot with a capital H. Whew, I never knew Tae had this. He was gorgeous with all that emotion and the eye and scrapes, etc. I absolutely adore post apocalyptic fiction.
