You've done it again: I've seen for the first time that option/clicking on a layer icon only shows that layer. What a great help! Thank you oh Layer Picking Graphical 😁😁😜😜 Made my day!
You've explained it better than the people of Serif. Great work! I think so, the noise and voronoi live filters aren't work correctly when they are grouped. I guess they will fix them in the next update.
So, in a Group, the composited effect of the grouped layers is calculated before the Blend Mode for the Group is applied. "Passthrough" passes the composited result of a Layer Group through to the parent layer stack without change, as though the composited result of that Layer Group were a single flattened layer in "Normal" blend mode. Other Blend Modes (e.g., Multiply, Overlay, etc.) take the composited result of a Layer Group and blends that result with the parent layer stack. Looking forward to your presentation on the child and clipping layers, as I find that Serif's UI for this is confusing.
I would offer that some of the unexpected behavior of the blend modes in groups are not corrected because they only concern very few Affinity Photo users. I think the professionals use Photoshop, while the rest of us use Affinity. A lot of the features you describe in your tutorials I almost never use, other than just for discovery. They are still useful in that I have retroactively applied some of the changes on older photographs that I did not know how to correct at the time.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I believe there are different level and types of "professionals". Some of these professionals do not need all the functionalities Photoshop offers and Affinity will suffice for them in most these cases. Regarding the demanding "professionals", they probably have PS but they would not be professionals imho if they don't have Affinity. At the end as professional you have multiple tools at your disposal and you would choose the best tool for the job. Like having a (heavy) drill doesnt mean you should always use that, sometimes a simple cordless drill is much more pleasant and easier to work with. Affinity is much leaner and responsive then PS and the amazing implementation of vector layers with pixels based makes it pleasure to work with (saying someone who used Adobe/PS all his life) Finally there are the "hobbyists" for whom Affinity is the best solution because it is just the best bang for your bucks! Probably Affinity is just used for minor corrections, which could have been done with much simpler/free tools. Especially for these users, i think the youtube channels about Affinity are very welcome and inspirational as you can see that the software you are using is capable of much more . Well, this reply ended out much longer then i expected :) Thanks for listening 🤣
Mein deutsch is nicht so super aber ich glaube levels adjustment -> Tonwertkorrektur ? When you click on the adjustment in the layers panel, it should be the first one i guess
