Good evening sir,The 1000ml you used to is from did you get?
The first calculation is for the given amount of water sample. But we have to convert it in ppm so we need to multiply by 1000 ml.
If the it was 5 mg/ ml of caco3 then 20 ml of standard solution=100 mg of caco3 ??
Sir once calculate tha final value of permenent hardness of water I got 600ppm

CaCO3 + dil. HCl = CaCl2 +CO2 +H2OAfter adding dil. HCl you get CaCl2 residue not CaCO3....
