You are so handsome lol. I’m from a big city so it’s refreshing to hear about your family’s lineage of fisherman. I visited Maine this year and simply fell in love with everything it had to offer! Went out into the sea as well and learned a little about catching the lobsters. Had my very first Haddock dish too, and now it’s on my top 3 favorite dishes!! Such a welcoming state ☺️
Oh definitely, any solid fisherman would always markem and through them back as this guy did! Good on him for sending that big fella back home, with a tasty snack in that massive claw 🦂 He's one of the good guys! 👍👏💛
Thats awesome man, I wouldn't doubt it if 40 years from now your son catches him... do lobsters live that long. Good man send him off with a treat. Now is the treat thing something you started or was that something your father and grandfather use to do as well?
I'll tell you something, you won't believe me, but it's true. I worked at Dry Tortugas National Park, and I'm an avid scuba diver. And on the west side of Fort Jefferson is a unique feature that holds a 6 foot lobster. This was in 2003, and I'm pretty sure it's still there. I won't describe the unique feature the lobster was in, so he remains undisturbed. Now, I've told dozens òf people about the 6 foot lobster and only a few believed me. I understand it's incredible. But it's true, and probably the largest spiny lobster ever known....though I'm probably the only person to see it.
Thank you for the video showing true respect. Wish our government could watch this, learn from it,and (here's the hard part) APPLY IT !!! Magnificent lobster by the way.
Wow omgosh I literally didn't even know that lobsters lived as long as turtles do and that is amazing thought... And five generations that's amazing I've seen a reel where it was like a sea storm and I don't know how y'all did it because I would have been way too scared 😭😭😭😭 like so many waves... That's a very brave profession
That shell disease hurts my feelings so much.. but I think it's the same as certain dog breeds will be predisposed to a certain illness so I guess it's just nature but it still sad 😢
Thank you for all the education on lobster. I have enjoyed everyone one.

You? The person who posted the video stole the video. They don't do anything but steal.
I believe it's the law; it's protected for breeding purposes so the population remains stable
They aren’t allowed to keep the large ones
It's required by Maine state law
