Who is Garden State Tortoise? 🧐
However you made it here, thank you and welcome to Garden State Tortoise. Garden State Tortoise is home to hundreds of animals from all around the world. We are a family dedicated to adventure, conservation of wildlife, and all things nature. We are a reptile rescue and breeding facility for more than ten years, offering refuge to those who need it, and working everyday to protect the beautiful world of reptiles in any way we can. Here on our RUclips channel you will be able to join us on our animal adventures while learning how to care for, protect, properly identify, feed and even breed many species of turtle, tortoise, snake and lizard. We even work with frogs and salamanders! We hope you enjoy our videos and help us share them with the world so we can continue to educate people of all ages about herpetology.

Love my grandis. Surprisingly cold tolerant, mine stay outside into the mid 30s no problem. They eat anything, thrive on land or water, and become very personable
I miss ours. Rad turtles for sure.
@@GardenStateTortoiseThey are!I wish I had the space for Heosemys grandis.
Pretty much what I know about turtles and tortoise I learned on this channel but I do have to say it is refreshing learning about new animals so my suggestion is to keep showing new animals as much as you can
Glad you're enjoying the channel! 🐢
Great to have a friend from childhood who loves turtles as much as you do. Al has quite an interesting collection, and a few I’ve never seen before. Always fun to learn about all the different species. Thank you Chris and Al for the mini class.🐢💕👍
Al has some incredible turtles. Glad you enjoyed it!
Ditto! Great collaboration!
For all those wonderful caregivers of turtles and tortoises, thank you!❤❤❤❤❤
You're welcome! 🐢❤️
Thanks for making this and Al for sharing his turtles.Awesome!
Our pleasure!
Chris! I am a turtle geek even though I don't own any anymore. I did know all the different turtles that you showed us today.
I've seen them in zoos and on my travels. When I was in Guatemala Honduras Central America there were some South American species that had migrated there. I do not remember the species names. My question is what were those tiny baby albino looking turtles in the beginning thumbnail of the video. Thanks again Chris for bringing us some turtles that blow our mind 🤯❤
Those are albino red eared sliders. 😊 and thank you!
Fabulous collection! I've read Al's books on Spotted and Wood turtles over and over. Cheers!
Another fantastic turtle video! I love learning about these gorgeous animals!🐢❤️
🙌🏻❤️🐢
AL is amazing. Love all the turtles. Blessings.
👍🏻👍🏻🐢
What a wonderfully informative and entertaining video!
The variety of turtle/tortoise species always amazes me.
Thank you.
An idea for a video; although they're extinct, there used to be various species of Horned Tortoise around the world.
I appreciate that! I'll keep that video idea in mind.
Very entertaining and informative. The turtle species were amazing 🤩
I appreciate that! 🙏🏻🐢
Interesting! So cool to see All the different species!! Although, I am so partial to the Mata Mata! They're so unusual!! 🐢
I'm a big fan of the Mata Mata too! 😉
I look forward to the weekly videos so educational. Please keep them coming 👀💚🐢🐢🐢
Thanks, I’m glad you’re enjoying them! 🐢
I loved how you introduced us with rare gemstone of life ❤❤❤
🙌🏻🐢❤️
Thank you for taking us along on such a cool turtle tour!
My pleasure! 🐢
Such beautiful animals, and they all look so healthy. Thanks for sharing.🖤🇨🇦
What fun! Thank you for the introduction!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Such a wonderful video. I so enjoy it when you visit other turtle/tortoise enthusiasts. All the species you showed us were amazing. Thank you for taking us with you.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! 🙏🏻🐢
Awesome to see Siebenrockiella crassicolla they are awesome, one of the only turtle species that doesn't determine the sex by temperature, but by chromosomes. It would be great to see them more often.
Very cool alongside North American woods when it comes to sexing.
Great episode, I went and subscribed, love seeing more turtles
Thanks!
I love them all, these turtles are my family
🙌🏻🐢👍🏻
TURTLES ARE SO DAMN COOL!
Agreed!!
Precious. The brown roofs w/their little pink hoods. Im in ❤🐢
For sure!
Superb video! Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@tolbaszy8067 It was one of the best. Everytime u think you've seen All the ones we havent seen, suddenly a brand new face, plump little (or large) body, arms and legs flying, someone else is there to be introduced! What fun!🐢🎁😀
Great Visit!! Thanks
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Wow, always learning watching you! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Happy to hear that!
The snakenecked turtle has my thighs😂😂😂
😂
I love the greens on the Rhino ones
Me too!
ty for sharing these wonderful creatures.
Our pleasure!
Very cool turtles, as usual. 💜☮️
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice collection.
I'm glad you like it.
Such a "FULL" episode!!😍
🙌🏻
I love that panda turtle so much! 🥹 Looks like it's smiling. :)
Agreed!!
Love me some twistnecks! Have hatched 6 in the last 7 years definitely not an easy one. Really appreciate a look into other nerd’s collection for ideas on set ups!!
Dude- that is awesome. Had no idea. Good work!
If you ever get the opportunity it would be great to see the European Mauremys (M. leprosa and M. rivulata), they seem to get passed over in favor of more colorful species but are interesting in their own right.
Absolutely would love to do this.
How did Al get all of these rare turtle species? I'd imagine a lot of them aren't part of (or common in) the American pet trade. I love his Sulcata yard and shed setups, wish he had a youtube channel!
They’re actually more common than many people realize. They’re sold at cheap prices through importers.
Great video as always
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for introducing us to so many gorgeous critters!❤
Our pleasure!
Love your videos, your knowledge about them is awesome, u should write a book!
Thank You : ) They look in Great condition : )
Yellow Head Temple Turtle
Almost look alike with Malayan Box Turtle (Cuora Amboina) from South East Asia.
👍🏻👍🏻
I loved when Kenan's wife found two elongated turtles that had survived for several years without help on his property lol
lol 😂
@@GardenStateTortoise then he asks if he should keep em? lol you’ve had em for year and didn’t know, yes keep em silly
He's talking about how hard it is to get the twistneck turtles to breed while holding a male who wants to do exactly that! 😂😂
😂😂
awesome animals! As for a suggestion on turtles/tortoises to make a video about, I personally Would love to hear about the tortoise species that are extremely rare to nonexistent in herpetoculture like the Padlopers, Geometric/Tent Tortoises, Angulated Tortoises, and the two lesser known Gopherus species G. flavomarginatus and G. evgoodei! There is very little media about these species, and only a handful of these species can be found in captivity, like Angulated tortoises and padlopers are kept in a few zoos in Europe to my knowledge.
I’ll keep those in mind for future videos! We actually use to hatch angulated tortoises right here. 😊
@@GardenStateTortoise That's awesome, I didn't know Angulated tortoises were even in the US!
i like black marsh turtle😍
Same!
Al is amazing….wish he was on YT tho lol
Same!
Reptastic Adventures here on YT.
He is! @reptasticadventures
So cute!
I would love to see you do something on Aussie turtle species.
Great idea
4:48 I resemble that remark!
😂
Deez turtles are fireeeee
They are not Butt. 🙌🏻
Are Elongated Tortoises feisty like the Forsten's Torts or do the co-habitate & get along better together than Indotestudo forstenii?
Elongated Tortoises are generally docile and can often be kept with similar species like red foots, though it's always best to supervise any interaction between different species!
Brilliant video thanks. The sound was not nice though 👍
Thanks. Can’t control that at other facilities. That’s a given.
Kenan has twist necks
👍🏻
I'm curious is that snake necked turtle obese? (sorry if I missed that while you explained about the species)
It’s a bully and steals all the food from others so that’s why Al wants to separate her.
❤
🐢
Aren't you concerned about transferring bacteria to the turtles not wearing gloves?
Not at all. In healthy collections it’s unnecessary and in more than 35 years I’ve never done it.
