💞💞🤗🤗💋💋Went to school at UC Santa Cruz and used to run among the redwood trees. School mascot was banana slug a bright yellow upto 9 inches slug that comes out from the redwood trees during heavy rains.

"Me and probably thousands of ticks", lol! Grew up in the forest in north Idaho and during tick season my dad would hold the lit end of a cigarette close to their butts and they would back out. One of us kids or the dogs would get ticks pretty often it seemed.

Entire forest was clear cut up to 100 years ago. You got some great views of the 2nd growth redwoods that sprouted up around the stumps. Amazing growth considering most of these trees are only 100 years old.

Everything you do as you travel and visit is so fulfilling and satisfying to the heart and mind and soul .. and it's also a grand way to experience freedom .. I really love watching you and all your videos and little one. And I can set and listen to you talk for hours period without interjecting a thing. Nisene Marks was my old stomping grounds as I grew up in Aptos. I camped in that area for a week in the spring', but didn't get any ticks on me until I camped in California's central valley on my way home to Nevada. I was picking them off me and my dog for three days. I don't go into Nisene Marks anymore since they started charging and it got so crowded. Check out Mt. Madonna County Park if your still in the area. There are some cool ruins up there and I didn't get any ticks up there either.

Aww yes, I just love those in the woods alone hikes away from the crowds as well! The sounds of the wind and the flowing of the creeks. That's my kind of place to be away from the concrete jungle!! And your right those ticks can be terrible and that's why I'm not on "tick-toc"!! 😂 So when you saw something rustling through the trees, I thought it may have been Susquatch or Big Foot!!😂 But yup it's your spirit animal instead!!
Thank you for the awesome hike!!

I was born in Northern California so I've been in the forest a few times and my aunt had property that backed right up to the Sequoia national Forest and we would go through the barbwire fence and play back there and we would see banana slugs, and creeks and it was so green and dark in there it was just like a wonderland. So glad to see this video. Brings back memories. Now Im in New Mexico. Take care on you upcoming journey.
