did we all watch the same video? I saw him find out that the light bulb socket had a short in it and blew out the sensor circuits and the breaker too. CLearly this LED lamp was dimable because it worked with the dimmer .. and YES, there are dimable LED lamps!!!

We sure got a kick out of this video. It was so good to see Levi again. Watching him climb your stairs sure reminded me of a black lab we once had. My wife shared her prednisone with Katie every day for about 4 yrs and it worked wonders. Oh, and Katie lived to be 21 years old!
We had an old battery charger that the diode went out on and was putting out straight wall AC, it not only killed the battery but fried the car ecu the battery was attached to. Don't recommend clicking the leads together for charger longevity and check it's putting out only DC and no AC with a voltmeter every few years.
hey man, I knew a guy who spent his whole life building his house out of corten. and steel, by the way when you install the windows make sure they are in a wooden frame (so they can flex) because if its glass to a steel frame, then it will crack, my dad spent alot of time replacing his windows with wooden framed ones. good video

@@TrevorDennis100 If you watch the whole video, he explains how he followed the wiring in the pump manual, which showed wiring the two hot buses, neutral and ground, as you normally would, but the company who sold him the pump told him to ditch the neutral and wire it slightly different.
@@TrevorDennis100 He was wiring the neutral, hot, and hot when he should have been just wiring hot and hot, no neutral. That's why it was overheating. I think on his original one the neutral leg was broken so he never noticed.
i took an old cordless drills battery apart and put modern cells into it, at one point was handling the completed battery before putting it back into the plastic case with a screwdriver in my hand, shot sparks across the room, i dropped both the battery and screwdriver on the ground and was petrified. you think the "50 amp" sparks were big... you could take a shower in the sparks that flew off this thing. i finally understand AVE's joke about putting pink electrical tape over his wedding ring before handling electronics lol. i got it back together and its been running great ever since, nearly 2.5x the capacity of new.

@@ElectroBotVideo clearly not otherwise it wouldnt of been working.. when both neutral and hot are coming into the bottom of the lamp does it really matter which one gets switched theyre both able to rub through to the lamp body youre not stopping the hot wire entering the bottom of the lamp by switching it with the dimmer controller
@@ElectroBotVideo any time you get yourself between hot and ground you could get shocked, I don't see how you'd be more likely to do that by switching the neutral in this case. Yes it is convention to switch the hot, but that's really only to limit the portion of the circuit that is energized when the device is switched off. In this case, it really doesn't matter much, all the energized parts are contained in the base of the lamp, no big deal either way, just don't go sticking your fingers inside the bulb socket.

Andrew - if you have not tried Solderlene paste flux, you really should. Solder joints flow much quicker than flux core solders and it doesn't end up as a hard or burnt residue making it easy to clean. And although it's not recommended for 'proper' soldering technique, you can transfer solder from the iron tip right to the fluxed joint and it'll flow right in, quick and easy - good enough for home and automotive repairs.
Nice video. I love the fact you show it all un edited. A shock and all. Haven't we all got shocked? That lamp was cool. I didn't know you could convert them. I was trying to figure out if someone made an actual dimmer switch like you would have on a living room wall. Oh, not to be picky but I noticed the top of your nightstand. Google this easy fix. 1/4 cup of olive oil and 1/4 cup white vinegar. Mix it up. Grab a rag and wipe the top of that wood surface. Let it set a minute and rub it off. The entire top is now one even blend and looks awesome! I refinished two stands for my bedroom without the hassle of sanding or stripping them down, refinishing them, etc etc. Someone told me and I googled it to see before and after photo's of how that re-conditioner worked on wood. WOW. Impressive. It's just your grandma's old recipe of keeping furniture polished.
Those boards are subject to voltage feedback in the house wiring and fluctuations in voltage. Sometimes I find my touch lamp on in the low position without anyone having touched it. Lol.
now we know why there has not been a ton of content lately, andrew has been rebuilding his lamp all summer :)

He's not having much luck wiring the neutral wires on things.
@@ChipsNeeson We never really knew what he was doing wrong with the hot tub pumps. My guess is that he was confusing 110 volt and 240 volt wiring.

@@joemilton7552 Because that lamp always has a hot and if you touch it and anything that's grounded YOU will become part of the circuit.
@@ElectroBotVideo clearly not otherwise it wouldnt of been working.. when both neutral and hot are coming into the bottom of the lamp does it really matter which one gets switched theyre both able to rub through to the lamp body youre not stopping the hot wire entering the bottom of the lamp by switching it with the dimmer controller
@@ElectroBotVideo any time you get yourself between hot and ground you could get shocked, I don't see how you'd be more likely to do that by switching the neutral in this case. Yes it is convention to switch the hot, but that's really only to limit the portion of the circuit that is energized when the device is switched off. In this case, it really doesn't matter much, all the energized parts are contained in the base of the lamp, no big deal either way, just don't go sticking your fingers inside the bulb socket.

@@Coinman-qz4zt Go to Facebook, search "Andrew Camarata Fan Club" and join the group. It was made by a fan and then Andrew himself found it and joined it and posts his videos in it early. He also post 5 minute or so videos that are private that he doesn't think are good enough quality to post to everyone.

Agree...elevator should be the very next project. Simple platform with dog crate attached, using the motorized lift.

When the grinder came out and you were tapping the sleeve down with a screwdriver and hammer my first thought was...this is about to get good 😂 then 1,2,3 sensors blew I was thinking the next scene was going to be the excavator mashing it down in the trashcan as you said... well that ones no good but I have this here other one that used to work but nope...... Andrew- I have 9 more of these things🤣🤣🤣🤣. thanks for the battery charger tip though, I have 3 of those pieces of junk and wont do anything unless the battery has more than 6 volts in it. whats the purpose of a charger that wont charge a damn dead battery... stupid design imo. Damn man the castle has turned into a true masterpiece, I love it.

Andrew - if you have not tried Solderlene paste flux, you really should. Solder joints flow much quicker than flux core solders and it doesn't end up as a hard or burnt residue making it easy to clean. And although it's not recommended for 'proper' soldering technique, you can transfer solder from the iron tip right to the fluxed joint and it'll flow right in, quick and easy - good enough for home and automotive repairs.
Nice video. I love the fact you show it all un edited. A shock and all. Haven't we all got shocked? That lamp was cool. I didn't know you could convert them. I was trying to figure out if someone made an actual dimmer switch like you would have on a living room wall.
Oh, not to be picky but I noticed the top of your nightstand. Google this easy fix. 1/4 cup of olive oil and 1/4 cup white vinegar. Mix it up. Grab a rag and wipe the top of that wood surface. Let it set a minute and rub it off. The entire top is now one even blend and looks awesome! I refinished two stands for my bedroom without the hassle of sanding or stripping them down, refinishing them, etc etc. Someone told me and I googled it to see before and after photo's of how that re-conditioner worked on wood. WOW. Impressive. It's just your grandma's old recipe of keeping furniture polished.
Those boards are subject to voltage feedback in the house wiring and fluctuations in voltage. Sometimes I find my touch lamp on in the low position without anyone having touched it. Lol.
